    Dreadful customer service

Product ok until you need help or support and then may God help you because Vodafone will not!

Either cannot be bothered or are incompetent. Not sure which

Tried to raise formal complaint and they faffed around putting me through from one person to another and left me on hold for about an hour to the point where I lost the will to live and gave up

Cannot wait till the end of my contract then bye bye Vodaphone

I'm reporting one of the biggest con jobs I've come across after BoZo's Brexit lies. In fact I'm open-mouthed at VF's cheek relating to their 'Ultimate Speed Guarantee'. I - as it seems many others commenting here - thought it related to the Internet speed I could obtain on my broadband, and if it went below that figure, in my case on Superfast 2 55Mbps, I'd get a refund. It was only when my tests on Ookla showed that at times I was getting less than half that, I started researching further and eventually downloaded VF's own app on which to check speeds. It was only then - after being told my download speed was 80Mbps did I realise these total shysters measure the speed between my flat and the green box over the road! They then have the cheek to confirm my 'sync speed' is above the USG and presumably I don't get any compensation. Crooks.

To add insult to injury after my complaint to them I was phoned by a very arrogant person in - presumably again - Bombay, who steadfastly refused to understand why I was cross, and basically told me to read the small print.

Like many others, I won't be renewing my contract with this bunch!

Just moved from BT to Vodafone and so far everything is as good as BT only much cheaper. No regrets for moving.

Absolutely disgraceful. Go live date was missed and it took hours of phone calls and aggravation to get the internet live, including an Openreach engineer turning up at my door unannounced. Once this had been completed and the internet went live, it was incredibly slow despite speeds of at times 71.0 mbps and sometimes varying down to 2 mbps. This meant streaming and downloading via Sky Q was impossible. Whatever I did this was the same. I think this was a mixture of poor service from the exchange and the router being if shocking quality. Devices would disconnect and sometimes not be able to find an internet connection. Keep your sanity and stay with your current broadband provider, as cancelling was a hassle! I am now back with BT and receiving consistent speeds of 70 mbps and all of my devices are working perfectly. Going with Vodafone meant that I had to change my landline number and faced connection problems with BT.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - This is the first ever negative review I have left for a product, as I felt so strongly that others should avoid.

I would rank it 0 stars if I could - the worst Broadband experience I’ve ever experienced with even worse customer service - no number to call when help is needed, awful advice from the online chat people who don’t have a clue. And I hope Vodafone sees this so they get their sh*t together. If you’re thinking of using Vodafone DON’t - screw you vodafone

I was looking for internet provider and spoke with a rep from 0800 number. He gave me quotations which I need to think about. He was aggressive in nature in finding out why I cant decide right away. He was a bit impolite and did not make me feel comfortable in answering some personal details. Please be advise that VODAFONE customer service is not admirable at all. Very harsh I deed. I am not calling Vodafone again.

The service I am receiving with Vodafone is abysmal.

The speeds we were guaranteed are 75mbps down.
Initially we got 60mbps down 16 up, but after a day, that dropped to 30mbps down 16mbps up, then after another day it dropped to 16 down 8 up, then to 8 down 4 up, then to 4 down, 2 up. The speeds we are currently getting are 1mbps down, 2mbps up over Ethernet and 2kbps down 32kbps up over WiFi.

Upon contacting customer service we were told that the issue is that Open Reach is limited to 15mbps which is absolutely a lie as we were getting 60mbps previously and 40mbps on BT less than 3 days prior.

While the broadband is more reliable than what we were getting with BT, where it would go down mid-day for seemingly no reason, I feel that giving it any more than 1 star for this would be giving Vodafone more credit than they deserve because of all other ways they suck.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. As soon as your cooling off period expires the speed drops away. Customer services aren’t interested in sorting it out or giving good customer service. My plan was estimated as 60mbps, I am half a mile from exchange. Initially connected at 63mbps, which dropped to 58mbs during cooling off period. Now I am getting 48.9mbps. You can only claim money back if shown on app, which always conveniently either doesn’t record it, the claim button vanishes or the app crashes. Terrible company & terrible service

I have recently experienced the full Vodafone package, I found it unpleasant and it is to be avoided at all costs.

From the moment we installed the broadband the problems began, losing connection, screen freezing and buffering. TV connection is an important part of the package you have purchased.

However, lurking and ready to pounce on any unsuspecting customer who has the audacity to complain is the dreaded customer service.

The blaming of Openreach is always a favourite, checking and removing the bt cover and home diagnostic checks and the hours spent on the phone trying to resolve the issues are all part of the inclusive package.

The hours spent on the phone trying to resolve the issues, were indeed testing, I even had time for a shave and a shower whist waiting for one of their team to return to the phone.

The last straw was the refusal by 1 of their tech guys to transfer me to the cancellation team unless I agreed to pay the termination fee.
Needless to say I wished him a good day !!!

If by any chance you get the ok to cancel the contract without any charges check the release email as they are still prone to the odd mistake and included a charge of £79.52 on mine.

Subsequently I have been issued with a reference number linked to the waving of any charges.

The Tel no I rang for my get out of jail card was
    0333 304 0191.

I hope this review helps in the choosing of a broadband provider

Its hard to decide whats worse the customer service or the worst broadband imaginable. All their tech teams are based in India with customer complaints in Egypt who just dont understand the issues. Nothing is there fault, the hub is hopeless, the app when it works is hopeless and even when you send pictures of it not performing its still not their fault. Worst customer care team i've ever came across, nothing i've experienced is worse than vodafone

Don’t waste your time on these people, Vodafone installed my equipment on January 24th 2023 but ran into a problem no fibre. I got told they was a problem and would get solved by February 1st rang up explaining problem wasn’t resolved to be told they need extra time and wait till February 7th absolute joke. NEVER AGAIN ALL BAISED ON LIES .

After spending 13 years with faultless service from BT I made the horrendous decision to join Vodafone. Since it’s install in October we average speeds of circa 3mbs, it drops out constantly and the hub has approx half the WiFi range as a 7 year old BT hub. The sales team told me lies, the customer care team have one goal which is to text you every couple of days to say there’s nothing wrong with the service, letter or emails are ever responded too, just started court proceedings for damages for a service that costs circa £15 a month. Keep well clear of Vodafone, disgusting service

Awful in every expect. Terrible speed, worse customer service.

    1. Poor speed. Should be 35 Mbps. Regularly running at < 8 Mbps. Sometimes as low as 1 Mbps. (My mobile Internet is often faster.)

    2. Connection often drops drops completely.

    3. They repeatedly failed to ship the new router that they promised. After weeks of chasing they finally shipped it but it did not fix the problem as they said it would.

    4. All of this takes forever since time consuming calls to their automated service, (after going through countless menus) just end up telling you to contact an ONLINE ADVISOR.

    5. If you manage to log in through their rubbish broadband, you fins that all their ONLINE ADVISORS are permanently busy!

    6. The online system suggests using the Vodafone app. This doesn't work and reports a technical fault and says to 'try again later'

    7. After many weeks of unusable broadband, I found that the only way I to contact Vodafone is to select the phone menu option that says you want to cancel your contract. Then, suddenly, they have an advisor at the end of the phone who tries to convince you not to cancel your contract and hey presto, they want to fix the problem!

Unfortunately, their technical service is equally poor. After a new router didn't work, we did, eventually, get an engineer to visit the house. He got the broadband speed running OK but two days later the speed had deteriorated with all the same problems.

    DON'T USE VODAFONE!

Not getting the speeds I pay for 50% of the time I'm on it. Customer service is ok but was told my speeds are in the limit I'm paying for by thier technical support team. Got the 60 meg deal getting speeds of average 25 meg. TV keeps buffing videos on tablets same as tv. End off contact I'm leaving.

Only arrived in the UK about a month ago, signed up to Vodafone broadband and mobile service. Mobile OK but broadband keeps losing its signal. I have the latest box from vodafone but it keep going to a red light for service. When you call the helpline, once you confirm that you are calling about the broadband their system just cuts you off. I thought it was me but tried it several times and it does the same thing everytime. It seems they do not want to help you to connect the broadband properly, but they do want your direct debit to take money from you!! As it stand at the moment, I would not recommend the Vodafone service to anyone.

Absolutely awful experience. Terrible customer service for such a big company. Had no internet for 8 days, was told repeatedly by vodafone it would be up and running in a few hours.. it took 3 visits from an openreach engineer for vodafone to realise they had mid-sold is a fibre product. Was offered zero compensation for the whole incident, before being told I have to send my router back or I would be charged £72. Stay away from them

Absolutely ridiculous experience when I had to move to a new flat and move my broadband consequently.
First the CS – who answered after 30 minutes – told me that they were going to move everything on the next Friday and that an engineer would come who didn’t need access to the flat but only outside. The weekend passed by and the line was still inactive so when we called again the CS, they told us that the engineer came but that the line was going to be active only after 10 days (something that they didn’t tell us during our first call). Anyway since we were going on holiday for two weeks it didn’t bother us so much.
Then, on our last day of vacation, we received a message from the engineer saying that we missed the “scheduled” appointment for the broadband installation and that now we had to call again Vodafone to book another appointment. The next day, still at the airport, we called Vodafone complaining that no one told us about an appointment and that, actually, we were told that the engineer already came but all the CS could do was to schedule another appointment after 10 days!!
We then filed a complaint and we were contacted by a complaints handler to whom we asked either to have an engineer in the next two days or to cancel the contract and he told us that in the last case we had to pay fees for over 300£!! so he managed to book for us an engineer for the next day giving us a morning slot; my husband had to ask for half day off at work but, of course, the engineer never showed up!! not even we received a call or a message from him. So we complained again asking to end the contract right away and when they heard that the engineer never showed up they agreed to end the contract without any fees. But this doesn’t end here because after a few days I received a bill with the broadband charges for the period in which we never had the connection plus 60£ charge for the engineer!! so I had to call the CS service again and they cancelled the bill.
I had also to struggle to speak to the CS – not only for the waiting time – but also because when I activated the contract, I was supposed to receive a PIN code that nobody gave me, so every time I tried to call the CS – after a long wait – I couldn’t pass the security checks, also because – at the moment of the activation – the lady put in my contact details my wrong email address so I’ve never been able to log in in my Vodafone page online! So I had also to get out, find a Vodafone store and ask for my PIN code in order to be able just to speak on the phone with them.
Until I was in my old flat the connection was good but not as good as they told us it would be.
I would definitely NOT recommend this broadband.

Couldnt recommend less. Go with literally any other provider and save yourself the headache of dealing with their awful customer service. Signed up for broadband and received a confirmation email and contract. 2 weeks later still hadn't received a router as promised or a confirmation of when the engineer was coming. spent 2 hours with customer service which was totally unhelpful and told me my order didn't exist. kept saying I was giving them the wrong postcode when it was the postcode they confirmed in their own email. phone is useless- goes to an automated message then hangs up.

Been with VF for a few months now, after switching from BT due to cost.
Speed steadily getting worse with increasing drop-outs.
Customer service have actually been very polite and helpful - have called me back on several occasions when promised. However I think they simply can't fix the issue. Basically speeds ( measured via various test sites) is consistently poor, plus the wi-Fi coverage in house seems inferior too.
I am considering switching again (back to BT probably) as VF are unable to provide a fast stable service. I stream a lot of sport and it's impossible to enjoy a full football match without buffering / drop-outs

Horrible. Do not be tempted by their broadband deals. I did with the mobile phone and broadband together deal and it’s the biggest consumer mistake I’ve ever taken. Horrendous service, drop outs, they’ll disconnect you over £2.75 (even when you’re on direct debit?) and it’ll take 7 days to be reconnected. They’ll blame Openreach a lot. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Signed up for fibre in April but it didn't work properly until November! Initially a router arrived and didnt work properly. After a few technical calls they decided I needed a new router and would send one out. It was never delivered so I phoned again 2 weeks later to be told the new router would be sent out. It never arrived and this process of me phoning them - delivery never being raised was repeated 6 times before I managed to escalate the problem to someone who finally sorted it and a router was delivered. It's worked fine since then, but the compensation they promised on each call would be arranged once the broadband was working properly -they've now said will not be honoured. Ridiculous

I put 5 out of 5 on all the star ratings because to me that is what I am getting. I've been with Post office, BT, Virgin Broadband and some cheaper networks. I have to say I have had no problem with Vodafone ever. Very stable connection with an app that can give you a boost button for them big downloads(Call of duty) My ping is always at the best. Speed is very consistent and you get more than what you pay for. Never had a problem with customer service. Such ease of use with this network and it is clear to me that it is the best network around for price, speeds, consistency, customer service and pure customer satisfaction.
    Take Vodafone guys.

I cannot comment on their speed I'm afraid as you'll soon find out why.

Fibre has recently been activated in my area and in February I found Vodafone had the best fibre deal around. I went through all of the application process and was told my activation date would be March 1st.

On March 1st Vodafone successfully shut down my old Internet provider however did not activate their connection. I contacted them (Online Chat via my phone as you cannot get through on their phone number) and was told everything was OK and that it could take until midnight to activate.

March 2nd, still no Internet. Now they say it is a port problem at the exchange and they said an engineer could not get to the exchange due to the weather (Beast from the East) even though they had three weeks in which to prepare the "port". Now I'm told they will contact BT Openreach as it is down to them to carry out the work... "contact us tomorrow for an update"

March 3rd, I get a text message saying the Internet will be activated in 2 working days.

March 5th, still no Internet. I'm told (online again) to wait until midnight yada yada.

March 6th, still no Internet. I'm told (online again) that an engineer is being scheduled and that I'm on the critical list. It'll be fixed in 2 days (yet again)

March 9th, still no Internet. I'm told (shockingly online again) that my activation date is now March 23rd but I'll not be charged any fees until i'm fully online... how gracious says I. What about the work to be done on the 5th and 9th, says I? It's all BT Openreach's fault.

March 9th, cancelled my contract within the 14 day grace period as I don't trust a word they say.

Good luck to you if you try to join Vodafone!

Terrible service. Wish I'd never changed providers. Was meant to go live 12 days ago and Still waiting. Made.about 10.phome calls and they blame open reach and say they'll phone me.next day to keep me informed.but never do. When I try to escalate or complain I'm.put through to wrong compartment and needs to be in writing. More time wasted!

Non resolve of issues they expect me to keep paying for hotspot on my mobile network 1 week of no net is serious when it's connected to heating, Tele and childrens device for homework, they have passed me from pillar to Post sent engineer out to test to find out faults on Vodafone's side authorisation error, they took two payments for privilege of no service this week, Im at end of my tether trying to deal with them, why wouldn't they admit the fault was on their side on first place

No internet service since the date of activation, no technical resolution to the problem where it involved repeated phone calls from myself to get any update, drawn out cancellation process. Overall, due to Vodafone's abysmal service, support and procedures, I am without broadband for 5-6 weeks. Strongly recommend going with another provider.

Although Vodafone have tried very hard to resolve problems they haven't been able to. Lots of issues with their own systems include online account. I wasn't aware that they consider 9 lost connections every 2 days to be acceptable. Unable to meet their own guaranteed speeds, call centre staff don't do what they say they will do in terms of calling back. Billing wrong and I have had to call Vodafone far to many times than I consider reasonable. Technical help was better in terms of customer service, but as already mentioned Vodafone were not able to resolve their problems and were not willing to try anything new to resolve the issue. Basically gave up or said they could only continue more of the same which hadn't worked previously!

I suppose most people only leave reviews when things go wrong, which distorts the real picture. Although Vodafone twice cancelled my order, it was soon re-activated and after a week of service I am (so far) very satisfied. The service activated flawlessly on the correct day, the speeds and latency are better than before and I'm paying £20, not BT's £48 per month for my internet!

I have left as the service had really deteriorated and I was getting a very poor download speed. The Voda app failed to let me claim against their guaranteed minimum speed as it always gave an error. New provider Plusenet instantly restored existing download speed that I started off with Voda. I would not use them again.

So unrelentingly awful, I'm leaving them just two months into an 18 month contract.

Firstly, don't expect your activation to be on the date promised. Took several days and many phone calls to get that sorted.

Secondly, don't expect a reliable service. Our service has dropped in excess of 100 times in 8 weeks, yet Vodafone say that is 'normal'.

Thirdly, don't expect any support. Agents promise the world, safe in the knowledge that you will never be able to speak to them again. They mislead, and sometimes just lie.

Lastly, their complaints department is as useful as their support department.

Left Sky to go to Vodafone. Activation/swap over on time and all good. Router arrived before this date as promised so from a customer service point of view not complaints. Router comes pre-fixed with a lot of features enabled that I think slows down/impairs performance. After a few days speed had massively dropped and connection was wavey. They do optimise the line in the first ten days but it shouldn't cause so many FEC corrections and errors/speed drops. Switching a lot of these off on the router appears to have fixed this. Speed has been 63mpbs continually, no drops and wi-fi speed all over a three storey house is very good and a huge improvement on Sky. So far so good but router needs tweaking, app is a nice touch although the "beam wi-fi" feature appears to have gone.
