I am so annoyed, I should be able to rely on my broadband provider for constant wifi connection however I am revising for an A level exam that I have in 2 days and I have no connection what so ever, but don't worry, 'it should be fixed by 7pm'

Broadband barely works I usually have to use my mobile data, phone is always down, the only thing that works efficiently is the TV and still that's isn't amazing. Customer service is horrendous always rude and dont know how to treat customers and understand their issues, glad I'll be leaving soon.

It is the worst internet, service (...) I ever had.
They make you test and test again your device until they have a good result and stop there, your problem still existes but they do not care.
Do not advice any customer to join virgin media
Very bad

I would have given 0 stars. We arranged to purchase Virgin Broadband and phone, and because nobody else on our street had Virgin they needed to run lines down to our house. Apparently this would take 4-6 weeks. We never heard back. My fiancé phoned them this morning and they stated they aren't going to be running the lines at all because our street is a 'privately owned' street. This is absolute rubbish as we know for a fact from our letting agent and council that it is an unadopted road. We would have been a little more understanding had they actually got in touch with us to tell us. Terrible customer service. Going with Sky instead who are only too happy to help.

I changed the Go Into Standby Mode to 2 hours and the box and tv both turn off for no reason every 30 minutes, not sure what that means. Sometimes it's connected but it says No Internet Connection so I can't use it. I turned on my hotspot for my phone and got a whopping speed of 0.79 megabits/sec which is like 150 kb/sec... that's like dial-up internet. Then I decided to look up reviews for Virgin Media and then I figured it out. Apparently virgin media is a joke and worse than Vodafone.

Virgin Media's sales team is full of cheaters/fraudsters. They call you to talk you through what you like and what you don't about Virgin Media. Then they offer you as a reward for your 'loyalty' some additional service at discounted prices. But at no stage they advise you that you will be entering into a new contract. Even though you they might ask them if there would be a new contract as a result of you taking up this new additional service; at no stage they disclose the true facts.
Only when you receive a email with a new contract , you find out that you have fraudulently been entered into a new contract that you were not made aware of over the phone.
I would rate the whole experience as unacceptable and awful. Recorded conversations can not be retrieved any longer. Overall customer service, follow up is pathetic and low standard.

VIRGIN MEDIA the broadband company that is full of broken promises ! I have never come across a provider of services so abysmal. Broadband speed is pathetic for the full price one pays. They do not keep to their promise ever. The best thing to do is terminate contract and find another provider who will honour their contracts, so stop payment with your bank. Remember VIRGIN are the ones who are in breach of contract, and not you the customer .

At first my wife and I were very excited about Virgin media. It's claim to a very fast internet service is one to be contested. However from the get go I had a alarm bells ringing off which I wrongly Ignored.
The sales team are very very pushy ( I understand they have a quota to meet ) and they will give you an answer that you want to hear, rather than the truth. Basically I was told that wherever and whenever I move flat to just change address an that will be that.
This is completely wrong and it's left my wife and I in a very bad place financially. Virgin media don't appear to cover my new post code and are charging me over £200.00 to cancel my account.
Basically don't take what the sales team to say as the truth because they want the sale. If your planning to move within 12 months don't get virgin media because if you can't take your services with you then your in trouble.
What makes it worse is the that the team over the phone aren't very understanding.
Never again will I give money to this company.

Had signed up to get broadband and telephone line in from virgin 3 weeks ago. No broadband equipment was sent out to be installed. Today was meant to be the install date so phoned to ask about this and they said there must have been a mistake! Not only has it took 3 weeks so far but now I will be left without Internet and phone line for a while. Also I have a disabled child living with me who depends on Internet on a daily basis! The customer service also was pathetic! Did not want to help at all and always passed the blame to someone else! Although they won't make the mistake of taking payment out of my bank account! If your thinking of getting virgin think again! Never had this problem with sky!

Where to start. The broadband is intermittent at times even though I understand that I am not in a fast speed area, but to top it all off they try to bleed money out of you. I am about to move home and moving in with parents so therefore have no say in what tv, internet and phone package they have. However, Virgin still think I should pay a late cancellation charge of £200 because I am still within my contract. As far as I am concerned that contract relates to that property and since I am no longer living there, surely that makes the contract void. They have done nothing to help me and instead just remain adamant that i have to pay this money so I will be seeking legal advice

Having swapped from sky we have been totally devastated with Virgin, the equipment is rubbish, the connection is terrible, the prices extortionate and the customer service is shocking! 200mbps is a lie, don't take it! Over utilisation is to blame I'm told yet they keep taking new bookings adding to the problem! I've not seen a single engineer close by working on the network, nor have I seen any improvement in our service or speed, I would never use virgin again and urge anyone thinking of changing to consult locals that have it to see if it's even worth it

The biggest problem we customers have to deal with is that there is little difference between the major providers, and they quite frankly do not give a real jot for their customers. In the many years I have been with Virginmedia, they have never once given me the service I pay for with frequent outages thrown in for good measure. At best you get 50% of the speed they advertise, apparently only a small percentage of their customers need to get 100MB for them to claim that all customers get this service, but the reality is that you normally get 10MB-15MB. The mobile phone service drops out as many times as you get a connection and you get more Free to View TV channels on an open decoder than Virgin provide in their package. It seems to be a legalised form of theft to charge for Free to Air channels, but that is what they do, as indeed do the rest.
Long and the short is that Virgin offer an overcharged mediocre service, but are little different to the others. One day a Regulator will be appointed who can actually do his job and sort this out.

Truly awful company. After signing up for a package for combined Broadband, TV and Phone, I very much regret it. The price has been significantly increased twice since I signed up, the fibre-optic broadband is a lot slower than advertised (speedtest.net has shown on a number of occasions to be less than 1Mb), and frequently crashes. Plus I am constantly (and I do mean constantly) harassed by emails, letters and phone calls from them to get a Virgin a media mobile contract.
I would strongly recommend NOT to go with Virgin Media.

Slowest wifi ever, takes about half an hour to load a video and that's just if we have one device connected to the wifi if we dare connect more than one we will be waiting FOREVER. had to upgrade my phone contract for more 3G as I can literally not rely on Virgins wifi, so disappointed how they can even claim to have the fastest broadband is beyond me.

I'm paying £29/month for a claimed 30mb/s. I generally have 10mb/s download speed. It frequently cuts out. It is not possible to work from home with virgin, too unreliable.
The customer service is polite but poor. After many expensive phone calls they rarely fix the problem.
Was going to switch but was told I'd have a free upgrade to 70mb/s by the end of April 16. This was a lie. Now Nov16-Q117.
This is costing me £50/week and time with my baby daughter as I can no longer work from home. Thanks Virgin media, actually worse than your trains!!!

Very poor broadband service I'm afraid - in the evenings (when I need it most) I'm getting about 4% of the advertised speed (ie 2mbps instead of 50mbps). They tell me that it will be sorted within seven months of the start of my contract. However they say they will not waive the early disconnection fee if I defect, despite providing me with only 4% of what they advertised. When it works it's good, but when it doesn't it's awful and their response to customers is poor. I can't believe I'm saying this but even BT might be better (and they offer sensible upload speeds to boot).

Their customer service is so bad! Signing up they are nice but once they have you, you get nothing but the worst customer service. Been having issues now for months where I do not have internet for 8h at a time. Just keep on getting the same old please turn it on and off. Not only myself is having problem up and down the road all the virgin media customers are unhappy. Avoid them at all costs.

Virgin are amazingly slow most of the time. In the last 5 years we have had one burst of 6Mbps, but otherwise it is usually less than 1Mbps. Yet they claim that our package is "up to" 60Mbps. We have never been able to watch any BBC iPlayer shows as they buffer for hours after a few minutes.
Total fraud.

Would you like broadband that stays on, well don't go to virgin. Everynight between 2200 and 2300 my hub decides that it wants to reboot itself and that means dropping my broadband connection, every time. despite reporting this to virgin, they still haven't done a thing to sort this, all their call person wanted to know was whether it was faster than before... Time to switch to someone else...

since upgrading to a different package I have never got the broadband speeds they say I'm getting and charging me for, when asked about it they said that the so called super hub 3 is not available in the area yet a relative in the same area code (04) who is in the next street from me has!!!, avoid these cowboys like the plague, they are false advertising and not abiding by their own contract

I'm on Virgin Media's up to 200Mbps broadband. I've only had it for a month, so early days, but so far so good. Using Ookla's Speedtest app on my mobile I consistently get 210Mbps download, 12.3Mbps upload and 15ms ping. It's not cheap but there's nothing else at this price anywhere near those speeds. I work in software / networking and this allows me to work from home as efficiently as if I were in the office. Reliability has been 100% so far as well.
The only negative is having to wait in all day for the home install package - why can't they give a sensible delivery window?

We arranged to install virgin broadband in 2 month advance. on day of installation service engineer called an said, sorry, I can't do it today and next appointment will in about 45 days. Now we without broadband, we cancelled our current broadband, and to order broadband from different provider we have to wait at least 30 days. We are really dissapointed. Especially our work depends on good Internet connection.

My elderly father, who is 78 years old, recently got Virgin installed. As a pensioner, he asked if there were any discount to the £50 installation fee. The bloke offered to install for £29.99, however, the bill came in and showed installation was not discounted and he had to pay the £50. When queried, they just said `nothing we can do about it`. Virgin should be ashamed at exploiting a vulnerable pensioner for a mere £20.Nothing to be proud of- you low-life parasites.

Virgin Media are by far the WORST company I have EVER dealt with. Their customer service simply doesn't exist, and if you do actually manage to speak to someone they all have a "couldn't care less" attitude. I cannot put into words how bad this company is, and how Richard Branson allows himself to be associated with them is beyond belief.
Considering they are a "media" company, I suggest you actually try speaking to someone and you will spend forever on the phone and never actually speak to anyone.
They gave me an "account manager" who was in the Philippines and didn't speak much English!
Frankly unbelievable and shocking how they stay in business!

Tried to install Virgin superfast broadband in my new home after being pleased with the fast speed in my old home and putting the lengthy delays for installation down to one-off problems that would not be repeated. Total nightmare!
Booked installation on three separate occasions. On each day, you are asked to take a half day off work but nobody turns up and the format of my day was identical:
1. Lots of promises from a helpful sounding phone team all day long that the technician was on his way to my home, held up but would definitely come albeit late. Every time that you phone them, you are made to wait for 10 - 40 minutes (whilst paying for the call if your Virgin phone line is not yet installed).
2. Around 7pm to 8pm each day, the technicians switch off their phones and go home. The helpdesk people then admit that they cannot get through to the installation men any longer and ask you to call back in the morning to rebook another installation day.
3. Call back next day (another long wait to be answered), only to be promised the "first available new installation date" a couple of weeks away.
4. This cycle repeats itself endlessly with no actual installation.
Other issues are:
a) your contract arrives with a higher price than you agreed to. This also occurred on every occasion that I renewed at my old address. You phone up, only to find that your old price has mysteriously disappeared from their system and settle for a new price. A contract for this lower price is promised but NEVER arrives. Result: the only paperwork that you possess is for a much higher price than you ever agreed to.
b) Issue (a) above is irrelevant really because one or two months into your 12-18 month fixed price contract, Virgin will increase your prices anyway. Expect two or three price rises during your 12-18 month "fixed price" contract as this is what I regularly had at my old address. Each time, you have the right to threaten to leave (without penalty) and renegotiate a new contract, but of course this involves the long wait for the helpdesk and hassle that you could do without.
(c) If you find yourself still having no installation after three booked appointments, you switch to another broadband provider and then have to argue with Virgin to get your money back, with more promises of new dates for installation.
Yes, the service is fast and cheap if you ever actually finally get it installed and are willing to fight over the price every 3-4 months, but if you actually want a reliable installation with a company that you can trust, then Virgin Media is not for you.

What sort of engineer thinks it is acceptable to install the modem in a bedroom when there is an office which already had Virgin previously installed. Not only that but have left unsightly wires that cannot be bent just laying up the wall. I am furious. Sadly I could not be here so a friend let them in assuming that they would do a good job. I wonder how they would like there installation done in this manner.
I was warned that Virgin was the worst supplier but they had a good offer compared to Sky, who I have to say did a fantastic install. Goes to show you get what you pay for. To lazy to take the cables round the house to a suitable location and just used the old sky install.
