Have just joined Utility Warehouse 3 weeks ago, have had no internet connection since joining up. Could not connect to internet so went through troubleshooting with them, but did not work. They sent me a new router but still does not work. Went through troubleshooting again but still no luck. They have now advised me to take my computer to a computer shop to get it fixed. There is no problem with my computer, I am currently using it at my parents house and can log on to their internet absolutely fine. Plus the computer worked perfectly until I plugged in their router. Am not happy as I have been made redundant and need to use computer to look for a job but cant do anything :(

Absolutely fed up to the teeth with this provider. Been with them for years, but the standard has deteriorated badly just lately, and it takes them ages to sort out any problem, specially with broadband issues. I was told 11Mbps when I signed up, I am getting about 4Mbps, upload speed is laughable, last night 3 hours to upload three photos, after which time I gave up, upload speed 0.2Mbps, can't connect my TV, playing games is a nightmare, and it keeps bombing me off whatever site I am on, not to mention the modem switching itself off when I am in the middle of something. Needless to say am now searching out an alternative. Can't come soon enough, just need to make up my mind which way to go.

Utility warehouse, are not at all interested in trying to improve my broadband service. Indeed they have advised my to go elsewhere. I have complained to the ombudsman who ordered them to pay compensation, but my broadband is worse now that it has ever been.

My wife thought she was doing the right thing to save money going to Utility Warehouse from BT. Its been a horrendous experience that i wouldn't wish on anyone. It caused a lot of family arguments and distress. Here tonight trying to help my son with homework. Slow internet speed, can't even open the App Store in less than 5 mins. Constant issues over last 6 months. I shall be seeking to be taken out of contract without penalty and will be going back to BT. You get what you pay for!

We changed to UW a 3 months ago from Virgin. There is no comparison. UW broadband is much more stable with lower ping rate.I can't understand the bad reviews. We have there mid range router as we stream and game a lot. So much better than virgin which was fast when it worked but would drop out to nothing several times an hour.

Currently downloading Forza Horizon 4. Its still got 15 gigs to download and has been downloading constantly for a week.

I was playing online poker last night. Router kept dropping out in important hands. TOTALLY UNUSABLE. 1 star is generous. They deserve 1/10th a star.

I cannot understand why I have stayed with Utility Warehouse for as long as I have? There must be something severly wrong with me! The broadband service is nothing short of a disgrace, and is completely unuseable if you actually want to make use of the internet. Everything is horrible. GOODNIGHT!

DO NOT GO WITH UTILITY WAREHOUSE. - Any of these reviews that state it is a good service are clearly not using much internet at all or are made by the companies PR team. I am reading the same issues that I am currently having! Terrible internet that barely gives good speeds, tell you to upgrade to fibre but doesn't do anything whatsoever to change it. Offer you routers and various other bits. THESE DO NOT WORK. I live in a semi detached house and the signal is fine, but the speeds are absolutely shocking. I cannot play a game without 400 ping on a regular basis and it is very rare I get a normal 30. It's a conning scheme most likely for elderly people who just want to 'browse' bbc news or something. Go with another provider!

I wish someone had told me! The reviews are incredibly misleading.

Not sure how they get away with this. Ive considered logging speeds over the period of a month or so to try and sue them for scamming but its too risky.

Utility warehouse are clearly paying handsomely for good reviews on some of the bigger review websites, where they rank close to the top 3. Dont trust any of this. The closest i found to non biased reviews is here, although i dont understand any review above 1 star.

That router was made for a school project im sure.

    LOVE THEM!!!
I have a 3 storey stone house. And use their middle rooter out of 3 possible. Works perfect. If you have signed up through website and picked small free rooter(meant for 1-2 bed flat) to just cut cost - your own fault. That's why they have distributors to get you the services and deals best suited for you. And look after you in long run. I have all my services with UW. I love the fact I get everything on one bill and no other provider reduces my bills when I do my usual shopping. My broadband and landline usually works out free when I spend with cashback card.

I must say, all the 1 star reviews are very accurate. The 5 star reviews are obviously fake and come from their PR teams.

Took me 10 minutes to do this review because that useless piece of sh%t router dropped out again. Consistent drop outs all day every day roughly 10 minutes apart. Its laughable really.

since having the broadband installed in november 2017 my internet speed with utility warehouse has been shockingly slow. i contacted customer services on numerous occasions altogether they have said:
i should upgrade to fibre, which i did and still the same problem.
offered a better router for £20+.
they tried changing the channels and resetting the router on their side and still the same problem.
eventually sent out another router which is the sameone and still the same problem.
they said it could be that becuase im living in a flat i could be picking up interference. bear in mind there is only one other flat above me and there hardly ever in.
they said my router could be two far away which it isn't as it's roughly 7-10 ft away if that from all the things i use internet for.
then they tried selling me a better router for around £70+ but for £1 a month i could have it, bear in mind the last one they tried selling was only £20+ . no chance i told them as i've been having this problem for nearly a year and for £1 a month as a gesture of goodwill they could provide one as the amount of money and time i have wasted and don't get me started on the gas supplies with them :-(. take some good advise and stay well away from UTLILTY WAREHOUSE.
stick to bt, talktalk, sky, even plus net as they all semmed better over the years.
    good luck.

Dreadful service, tricked in to a contract that meant we had to pay a load of money to them when we left even though they were unable to provide the service we wanted in our new home. Customer service is appalling no one willing to talk to you about the issue. The broadband is slow and real issues with connecting to the internet as connection was so unstable. Avoid

I have moved from talk talk to UW. Been reading all of the comments below. I cannot fault UW at all. Smooth transfer over, saving on my bills, internet great for what we need it for . All internet speeds differ this is nothing to do with the provider it's outreach as they deal with all lines and cables. Great company I can't believe what I am reading of all the issues feels like they are talking about a different company. 10 out of 10 for me and my family

Absolutely fantastic services I switched my home phone, broadband, mobile, gas and electricity and im saving nearly £50 per month on my previous provider (BT). When nobody else could offer me even standard broadband utility warehouse saved the day with fibre. They guaranteed 5mbps and im getting 7 regularly. Heartily recommend to everyone.

Internet is terrible. I'm currently leaving this review using my phone provider internet which I have had to use multiple times when this internet fails. Massive drop in speed and consistency during weekends and days leading up.
I've actually done speed tests that's have shown that the speed I was receiving was less than 0.01mb which is actually mental. I don't know how they can get away with it in this day and age. The internet is so bad that I wish that the company collapses and that all ceos and high ranking member lose all there wealth end up on the street. And if that did happen they would still have access to better internet than this garbage.

BEWARE! The broadband service was never right and we had multiple replacement routers sent to no avail. There are errors on the bills and fees that you are never told about beforehand. The service is expensive, and bills are confusing if you have multiple services with them. When we decided to leave, it has taken months of phonecalls and emails and we still keep being sent bills, and we have now had to threaten with going to the ICO and making a complaint. This company is not a good deal on so many levels!

We’ve had intermittent broadband connection for months now and we’re supposed to have the fastest fibre optic broadband going. That’s not to mention the double in price of our utilities bills since a smart meter was fitted. Feel totally ripped off by then.

One of the worst broadband provider I have ever used. Slow speeds, the WiFi connection drops extremely significantly to the point playing a game is a big no & literally lags to load low quality (144p) videos. I literally pay to sit around waiting, for a not even a decent enough speed for the best broadband package they provide to actually do my work, maybe play a game with my friends or even browse the internet.

Embarrassing Utility Warehouse, I recommend you stay away. Also the fact they have their “ties with TalkTalk” eeesh

Also due to these sales from their agents or “partner scheme” whatever they call it, achieving customer support/ actual helpful assistance or a refund for their crap service is nearly if not impossible. Then to be stuck in a 18month contract with them! To leave you’re trapped charged with all these hidden fees they fail to announce upon purchasing. Really stay away, there are way better deals & providers out there. Virgin is good, EE is getting better, even BT provided a better service.

I only found one of the customer service people friendly and helpful. The rest of them talk over you while you try to explan the issue and get you trying the same thing over and over even though it' not working. Then they lie to you.
What they *won't* tells you is that they use talktalk for the broadband. I deliv=berately didn't want to go with talktalk because they are dreadful. When I brought it up with a member os staff, they said "well you should have asked". So hands up how many people go to a new ISP and say "are you using talktalk"?
Then one told me that if I didn't have a landline phone connected, the internet wouldn't work. WTF????

Based on the below reviews you would think that Utility Warehouse is a poor service. Well I can say that they are fantastic. When I was with Sky on the top broadband, all I got was drop connections as complaints from the family. Since we have switched with them, the change over perfect and I chose their middle broadband with a free standard router. Two of the family work from home all day on the internet, there is no break in sercvice ad we meet our deadlines. In the evenings we have 5 smartphones,2 smart tv's,plus one on chrome and 3 tablets all working great with the router and 3 tplinks. The customer service is fantastic and always eager to resovlve issues efficiently. I can understand why Which has voted Utility Warehouse in March 2018, best broadband of the year. Are we saying that an independent review has got it all wrong? I don't think so, I for one am more than happy and have definitely save a lot of money. Thank you Utility Warehouse.

Was originally with Utility Warehouse for a 12 month contract. Issues from the start, had to fiddle around with router settings to get devices to work (never had to do this with other providers), speeds were very slow probably comparable to dial-up, and the connection would always drop. We phoned UW up to complain and they suggested we take out a Fibre package for an extra £5 a month for an extra 12 months onto the contract. We did so, but things barely improved. The speeds were better, but comparable to very poor broadband, and the connection still drops. Leaving them once the contract ends, should be end of this month. Haven’t got much hope with others saying about added charges.

Utility warehouse is the slowest most unreliable internet broadband I’ve ever come across. It’s is unable to even let you play a game without you glitching or lagging. Would definitely not recommend this awful service.

As a 16 year old you can imagine that I love my internet, when my mum told me we were changing broadband providers I wasn't too over the moon as we would be without internet for nearly two weeks. However, even with being with Utility Warehouse, you may as well have no internet because half the bloody time it doesn't work!! And when you do ring up about the problem, the customer service is a bag of balls too! we went a whole month without internet once after telling us it would take only THREE days to sort out. If you're planning on changing to Utility Warehouse, save yourself the hassle and don't.

Joined utility warehouse and was promised lower monthly payments and quality internet connection
    What a pack of lies.
The internet connection never works, unexpected bills and impossible to leave them.
They are crooks and shouldn’t be allowed to con the public in this way, I could kilck myself for not reading any reviews before as all of them are negative!
When I questioned why my internet had been down for over 5 days their explanation was that the router wouldn’t work if there was metal objects in the home such as a microwave or filing cabinet !
Surely with all of these poor reviews something has to be done ?
    I welcome any advice please.

By far the worst customer experience ever!

I was a loyal customer of TalkTalk for 8+ years and was promised faster broadband and I would pay less, who would not go for that?

The broadband was terrible and due to my business, I had to cancel as the signal kept dropping.

UWDC's customer service team are often confrontational and implied it was my PC, rather than their poor broadband.

Had no choice but to find another supplier (Plus Net) and would you believe it, the broadband works as it should.

Due to the fact that I have cancelled one of their services (despite it not being fit for purpose) they have exposed me to a whole host of hidden charges, for allegedly "FREE" LED lightbulbs.

To make matters worse, my bills have now gone up instead of down.

Due to the fact they sell through 'agents' (kind of like pyramid selling) face to face meetings aren't recorded, as they would be by most reputable suppliers. This means consequently all the lies and false promises you are told to get your business boil down to 'hear-say' which you will struggle with in a court of law.

I will be seeing this company in court.

Terrible. Hardly any broadband. Constantly drops out. Just received new router and hardly made a difference. Locked into a contract and the monthly charges for telephone ridiculous. Think it will be cheaper to leave and pay stupid amount of money for leaving provider! Not impressive at all!

Well, it seems i'm not alone with the terrible broadband i receive from Futility Warehouse. Six months now, of internet dropping and background static on the landline. Every time i call them its the same conversation. Reset your router, try another handset, we'll send you a new microfilter. I'm sure you are all familiar with it by now. Then, when i say i'm going to another broadband supplier, they hit me with the threat of an £84.00 charge because i signed up for the Gold package. More like old, because that's the service i'm getting, like the bad old days of dial up! Well you know what, hit me with it, because i'm gone. Worst ever!!
