You only find out just how good a provider is when something goes wrong, and when something goes wrong with TalkTalk they really are dreadful with dealing with customer problems if our experience is anything to go by. Don't be fooled by the slick promises on the website and be prepared to be frustrated by automated phone centres then having to speak to ill informed advisors situated in foreign lands giving conflicting advice. Will be transferring to another provider as soon as possible.

Talktalk throttle speeds during peak times which caused my 25mb speed to go down to as low as 0.5mb. I literally spent hours upon hours on the phone to them during which they either didn't listen, sounded bored or tried to charge me for new routers or engineer callouts.

I kept asking them if they throttle speeds and they kept either dodging the question or said no, after months of the exact same issue, there is no other logical explanation other than bandwidth throttling. The issue starts at 7pm and stays till 10.30 after which it always speeds up again. Conveniently enough their senior support staff leave at 10pm so you can't prove it whilst on the phone.

Avoid them like the plague unless you never need the internet during peak times and don't mind support staff that obviously don't want to be doing their job and are reduced to constantly reading out a script.

BEWARE TALK TALK STEAL FROM CUSTOMERS, TAKE OUT EXTRA SERVICES WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION AND IGNORE THEM WHEN THEY NEED HELP TO GET THE MONEY BACK!

we have been battling with talk talk since the day we were first supposed to have installation, they messed it up so badly they put the date back and then installed internet into completely the wrong building!!! meaning we had to put our new staff into a temporary office costing us £££ of pounds, once it was eventually sorted out the managers were uninterested in the amount of stress and time and money the incompetent staff had caused us with the mess ups, we have 9 cases outstanding and unanswered with talk talk to date.

then going on further someone took out a second line that we never asked for, no one could answer why this extra line has been taken out, we now have bills coming in for the line we never asked for in addition to the line we already have which is double the price! today talk talk have taken an additional £22 out of our account when they only took money from us 3 weeks ago, this amount they took is not even an amount of our plan its to do with the second line we never asked for!!

I've tried and tried to get hold of someone or a manager as I was assigned one who avoids my calls and ignores me every time, I want my money back that has been taken from me without authorisation, I also want compensation for the money talk talk has lost my business and I want an apology for the stress this has caused me, I have spent hours and hours of my time on the phone to talk talk for weeks now and can never get anyone to help, I have a business to run and the time calling them is sucking out of my working hours is impacting my work and my customers and losing me even more money, I am in the process of filing with a small claims court to recover my losses due to talk talks disregard of any responsibility for their non compliant actions, I will submit this by the end of this week if they have not bothered to get back to me again !

PLEASE IF YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS I URGE YOU TO TAKE OUT YOUR BUSINESS BROADBAND ELSEWHERE or you may end up with stress and blood pressure issues through talk talks abysmal service along with losses in money that are a big impact for a small company.

I am just lost for words at what is actually happening and that I'm just being ignored.

It is just impossible to speak to someone at TalkTalk, you are sent text messages (which you have to pay for), directed to online Private Messaging or getting the same unhelpful responses on their facebook. It would appear that the provider their security package 'Supersafe' is no longer taking calls and their Philippines call centre has lost their number - or more likely its been removed because the Security provider can't cope with all the calls - who knows, for sure they don't and we probably never will. Delay in supply, shoddy assistance, lack of customer interface, lack of service and an intermittent broadband - it's not just me their facebook is littered with issues. All in all I simply cannot recommend.

I think talk talk gives cheaper broadband than other providers but their customer service is unbelievably bad. I think their call center is in India, sometimes they don't understand some simple instructions, bad communication. I was with talk talk many years now. Last time my contract renewal, I called them. Several times after I talked to a machine, someone answered the phone and I told them its my renewal and I'm looking for a good deal. They didn't bother to listen, they just gave me a regular deal which is lot more than I'm currently paying. Basically they told me taken it or leave it. I didn't like the attitude of this female advisor and she got this accent very difficult to understand. I said I'll call later. I called two more times but all occasions I got someone very rude, ignorant with very heavy accent. I got really frustrated and I asked them to terminate my contract at the end of the month and stared to check other providers. After day or two gentleman from talk talk called and asked would I change my mind if he offer this deal and it was a good one and I agreed. I think the biggest problem talk talk have is customer service. I don't mind what country they answer the phones from but they need serious training of customer service, respect, accents etc.

This is the worst company I have ever used for any of their services. The tv signal is so poor that I am paying for channels I cannot receive. Even after purchasing an extra aerial as advised (post contract)
The internet is the slowest I have ever come across and am often going over my data allowance on my mobile devices whilst at home..
I have never been a happy customer with talk talk but they refuse to let me out of my contract without a £200 fee. A complete waste. I wish I had stuck with virgin media. No problem ever with them. Great signal, great tv and great service. Rip on the end of talk talk. Bunch of eeeeejits

Please never make a contract with TalkTalk. You will get a worst customer service and poor management. They will argue with a customer to win if you raise a complaint rather than solving problem. They will always reduce speed in peak time . They never value old customer. Once you make a contract with them, they will forget you. Cheapest things always come with the cheapest services.
