Almost 2 months after being referred to the chief executives office (because of my email failing and myaccount lockout) I am still left without email. Talk talk engineers seem quite unable to fix this. I am about to leave when, having given up, talk talk have agreed to remove any cancellation charges.

Cancelling my service after my contract had ended was a nightmare. I've been forced to pay for over an extra month after I wanted to close my account.

Even finding the information about cancellation was difficult enough, then rather than simply pressing a button on my account, I had to spend ages on hold before finally getting through to someone who could cancel the account.

I had to do this twice because the first time it wasn't actioned. Then I received ANOTHER bill for another whole month totalling a month and a half being paid for when I wasn't even using their service.

They told me I'd be refunded the extra half month, but I have to contact them to ask for it back (even more needless hoops to jump through) in over a months time.

Talktalk think you have nothing better to do than constantly chase them when you want to ko longer be their customer, giving them the cancellation to squeeze every last penny out of you.

If you want to use their service, you may as well just put up with them forever because they won't make leaving them easy or fair.

The customer service rep became irate with me when I asked how I could leave feedback on their cancellation policy and could only give me a postal address telling me "no we don't have an email".

An Internet company...doesn't have an email for customer feedback?!

Of course they don't, that would make improving their service too easy.

Reasonable fibre broadband, but absolutely shocking customer support and technical service. Every single time you ring them you get a completely different answer. You wait in for appointments that haven't been booked. You don't get callbacks. Their customer support is an absolute mess.

When I first got talk talk line rental installed they were great, this was four years ago however I moved home recently and as I wasn't moving straight into my new house I requested my account to b put on hold til I had my own house again, this was a few month. When I rung up to have in reinstalled I was offered a cheaper papackage and as I'd have to to be saving money for other household item I accepted, but only after making sure there were no extra charges. I repeatedly asked the woman on the phone this and she stated that they was no extra charges and that my monthly bill would be £25 per month. My go live date wasn't til a fortnight later and then...my first bill arrived. £175!!!! I rang the straight away and they wer tryin to bill me for one of the months my account was on hold, they were charging me £50 for downgrading my package, another £50 for some box that I've still NOT rreceived and my fist two months bills because apparently we pay a month in advanced which I was never told about either. All this was after I was reassured that there would be no extra charges. When I rang their customer services I was passed to many different departments n put on hold for hours before I actually got someone decent who could understand me on the phone(I'm not racist, I myself am mixed race) I managed to get £50 off the bill but then I was advised a manager would return my call to sort out the rest.. This was over two months ago and I'm still waiting.. I rang every day for a week n spoke to numerous customer service agents that played dumb.. This company is awful and I high recommend finding a different one!!!!

My issue isn't entirely with the Broadband itself, just the effort it takes to get it. From the start the salesperson over the phone assured me that the Fibre Large with Plus TV, Broadband and Phone was the only way to get only Broadband and that the phone and TV box are just included. After months of arguing over the useless customer service system, I finally got round to getting the Fibre Large SimplyBroadband. Now, they have charged me £200 for the TV box as it hasn't reached them in time, even though they did confirm that it was in transit to them, so not my fault in any delay in it reaching them. Been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

Can customer service really be as bad as this? I have complained many times but sick joke comes to mind.
I don't know where to start. On a daily basis the system works well and to be fair its reliable.
However they offered a free sim card. Perhaps 10 phone calls later, many hours on the phone, every excuse in the world that my account was in arrears (it cant be the bill is DD) even "you have failed the credit check" what utter rubbish. They lie and lie again. Eventually an English voice came on the phone - I almost fainted. Order placed in 3 minutes - but it never arrived. Now the order was not actually placed. Here we go again. The very second the contract is over I will dump them without hesitation. Utter and total shambles of a company. Surely there are laws against this total rubbish.

Terrible scam artists. Due to finding a cheaper broadband deal, I switched to a new provider and they stated that they would contact Talktalk. Switched as planned, then Talktalk send a bill as normal. Called talktalk to say my provider has changed and I had already checked that my line to talktalk had been switched. Talk talk then claim they had not been told. New provider gave dates of sent and received confirmations. Called TT many times, after giving you security details four or five times and being passed around, you are eventually connected to cancellations. The perfectly clear phone call suddenly changes to the sound of a hundred voices, louder than your agents voice and the sound constantly breaking up. The same thing happens every time I get through to the cancelation team. I can never complete the process. I going to have to waste yet another 45 minutes to get through the them. Due to the repeated nature of problems of cut offs and poor sound connection in only the cancelation team, I can only assume it is completely deliberately unprofessional, so that you cannot cancel. Meanwhile my new provider has given me extra credit on my account for the difficulties Talk Talk are causing.

Although the internet may be fast, the customer service isn’t up to par. I’ve had to wait 2 weeks for someone to simply come out and activate my master telephone socket, which is a 5 minute job. I’ve then had to spend over £30 on mobile data just so that I can stay connected until someone eventually comes and activates this socket. Nobody should have to wait 2 weeks for a simple switch to be flipped. Should be quicker than this since TalkTalk are a popular broadband service, pick it up TalkTalk.

The quality of the talk talk connection was disturbingly low and rarely fast. It surprised me at first until this became a habit. Not at all acceptable and not worth of my money. At least when I had sky it was faster. What a disappointment talktalk. There are many times where I wonder about my contract with you guys and I have now came to the conclusion that talktalk’s overall programe is ****. I am embarrassed to say that I have talktalk contract. Disgraceful and I am clearly disappointed with the effort to change this situation.

    letter sent to talktalk:-

We had a fix term contract for 12months. This was arranged by you, whom unsolicited, contacted me to stay with your company after I had cancelled and left, due to cost increase. Your sales pitch was;-

''if we give you this fix term cost would you come back''

Several months into this agreement, you reneged on in, giving one month notice to increase the cost again. I immediately gave one months notice of termination by emails below, due to your breach of trust and agreement. Then followed this up with a second email on 02 December 2014. The service therefore was cancelled on the 18 December 2014.

You continue to send out bills for after that date, as if I had not cancelled the service. Further to add pain to the injury think I am going to acquiesce to some early termination clause!

Why are you acting in such an unprofessional manner?

Attempted to upgrade my otherwise decent package for a black friday deal. After five days of nothing happening, I asked what was going on. I was then told by one person that the order had been 'partially' cancelled. The next person told me that the upgrade had taken place days ago, despite there being no difference in service. In then took two hours to rollback the order so as to be able to go with a different provider. Dreadful customer service.

I endeded my contract when I left York in November - I gave TT plenty of warning by phone and email. They did not acknowledge these. I keep getting demmands for rental payments. I emailed TT several times - THEY NEVER RESPOND EXCEPT TO SEND ANOTHER BILL. I am in despair as they refuse to answer any of my emails. Is my credit rating being damaged?

Talktalk is the worst company i have EVER dealt with i was two days late to ring up about cancelling an account at a house that i no longer live at and i now have to pay untill august which is disgraceful and on top of that i demanded that the line was blocked and that the internet or phone could not be used as i DONT live there anymore but it hasnt and im getting charged for other people to use my account even though i have asked it to be blocked. Opening a new account with you was the worst experience possible i ordered my new internet deal only to find you hadnt actually sent it out you cancelled it but wasnt told about it you made me miss the lovetoshop voucher deal and i had to wait THREE weeks for yout lousy internet to be installed and the worst part was having to arrange it over the phone with your customer service on my mobile because your too incompetent to install a landline costing me £68 to talk to an entire customer service team which cant understand english!!! I was finally given 30 credit and then asked to arrange it all myself having to ring up again and speak to the most incompetent manager ive ever spoken to in my life repeat catchphrases obviously read of a script because he didnt have a good enough grasp of english to reposnd to me .... again costing me a bloody fortune, so im stuck with this pathetic company now paying for TWO accounts and the only way for me to sort it out is to ring up which will in no doubt cost me about £68 quid. AWFUL COMPANY

Though the broadband works well here the customer service is a nightmare. If you have any issues be prepared to waste hours. I originally rang them which was painful. I then went to using the chat feature but that seems to have got worse an worse. Spent two hours just trying to get one answer which in the end was a one liner! And once you want to leave you better book a day off work!!!!

this is the most shocking services i have ever had from broadband company i had 2 appotment with the engineers so i booked of work using my holidays and no show or text/email/phone so what a waste of my holidays and there still trying to charge me for my old address when i moved £200 but yet i was told on the phone i was still in the cool down period so no charge. i got a second broadband serice Virgin Media and tbh much better customer service and broadband if i was you before you think of signing a contract with talk talk rethink and have a look at all diffrent reviews from diffrent website and you will see my point why one option is better than the other.

    many thanks alan :)

Although I had no issues with their actual internet and its speed TalkTalks customer service is atrocious! Their online help chat is pointless as the people behind it have no idea what they are doing and if you accidently get disconnected you have to start the whole process from start. Their phone help line is just as bad as it takes at least 1 hour before you get connected to a human being. Also be careful if you switch address on your talk talk account online as they will cancel your current contract and sign you up for a new one without your knowledge. Worst customer service ever!

Simply appalling. I have a Talktalk account, a bundle of broadband, landline & mobile. My situation is that I left the address of the landline, effective 21 June, moving in with family at a different UK address which already has landline & broadband provision. I still need mobile access. I am renting out my property & I'm currently in Europe on holiday.
Because I had previously used my current personal email address when I had previously had a Talktalk account, when setting up my new account, I was forced to use a work email address when I rejoined Talktalk. I now no longer have access to this email address as I have since left that job. Talktalk will not allow me to change the email address to my personal email address, due to the address' previous use. This email address needs to be changed.

On 20th of June I called TalkTalk & spoke to an operative. I can't remember his name; let's call him Barry Chuckle. I explained all of the above & was told that I would have to talk to a different department. He put me through, I held for 45 minutes, the call was answered & immediately cut off. Tsk.

I called back immediately, this time, speaking to, let's say Paul Chuckle. He explained that more than one day's notice was required to end the landline & broadband contracts, which I accept. I expressed my concern that my tenant could run up charges on my account. Paul explained that a "block" could be put on outbound calls. I requested that this be done, effective 6am the following morning, as that was when I was departing to catch a ferry to France. Paul explained that this action couldn't be requested in advance, but that I should call back before I set off; I assured him I'd do this. I stressed that, as I'd be travelling extensively in Europe I needed all of my current mobile plan provisions to continue - ie data & ability to make calls.

Day 3. By this time it is evident that I have no data roaming, lack of access to my phone's satnav contributing to a 2-hour navigation error. I phoned again, speaking to Mr Bean this time, requesting once more that mobile data should not be disabled. I was told that it could be enabled, but this would take up to 48 hours, & when I expressed disappointment, I was told I should have called 2 days previously - I pointed out that I had asked for this 2 days previously. Thankfully, data "switched on" later that same day.

A couple of weeks on & I reach my data limits & cap. A text tells me I can reactivate by phone or online. I try by phone - "phone not registered on network", presumably due to the disabling. I try online - "account cannot be accessed from your location". How then do I reactivate my account until I return to the UK?
After repeated promises that I would receive a call back in 3-5 days, a call arrived after a month, but the agent hung up on me. I called back to cancel my account; the agent hung up on me.

I have been recieving calls from different people looking for a place called priory. I decided to call talk talk to let them know that my number was registered by some company and have been recieving calls from people looking for it. The person i spoke to did not seem to understand what i was talking about and spent a few minutes resolving the issue. He then spent the rest of the call trying to sell me other talk talk products and right now i still do not know if my issue was ressolved or not. Worst customer service i have dealt with especially from a company as big as talk talk. Not acceptable.

Im really disapointed with talk talk after 5 years, I dont know how much time i spend writing and calling talk talk. Before moving to a new house in the middle of May this year I called 3 weeks before moving date to make sure I will get an Ethernet as soon as possible, Cos of the someones mistakes Unfortunatly, my order didnt go through, Even I spend 40 min on the phone and agreed to all terms. After send 2 complaints, I was told that complain departament is closing the case, no oone offer me anything as apologies,so after a month being in a new place, no Ethernet still got charge 29.95.am sorry but is a joke, paying for something I dont use, and finally Yesterday from 1 to 6pm i was expecting engineer to set up the fast fibre, and no one came, I lost a day from my work, money and time, Cant watch my tv series, my son Cant watch Cartoons and I Cant stream my sports, Im angry, pissed off, and when I think someone from talk talk will call me again, I just dont want to answer my phone Cos its a waste of time, no one even bother to give me a call and say when they will come to do the set up again. I really would like to cancel my talk talk and swap for other company, cos thats not the way Yoh should treat people, specially when they pay. Worst customer service ever, i will make sure I wont recommend talk talk to any one, any where

Was all set up and working for a year. Then had an issue with the router and can setup port forwarding to my website that makes money from product sales. spent several hours researching into help on this, Looking into firmware solutions, port forwarding guides from 2020 ect. after hours wasted i then contacted them, only to find a idiot and the other end who literally C&P'd pre-scripted answers to me about how they wont explain anything about port forwarding. This is tech support i was speaking with. They wont even touch topic on port forwarding. Then the chap thought he would blame port forwarding concept to be the fault, not the router. What a stupid POS. clearly it was the router when it worked fine last year. They have no clue and are the WORST ISP I've ever known. God knows what leaving is going to be like. one final note as i literally wasted my time with these pricks - they will only pass on out of date guide and then continue to use C&P repeating the same crap until you leave. Its awful and I've never Ever dealt with Customer service this bad. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT WHATS GOOD FOR YOU.

Very satisfied with tv and phone package. Broadband is rubbish upgraded eight months ago to their super fast broadband. Wish i had not. About approx 20 calls me to them only 2 calls from them to me.
Speed averaging 45 mbps. 5 engineers out all told me it the router. In no way did talk talk tell me i could cancel my contract if they could not fix my speeds. Lived with it eight months awaiting january 2017 till contract ends. Now after 8 months of terrible speeds buffering engineers calls texts e mails. They now tell me i can cancel my cobtract as they cannot fix it.
So i got dodgy broadband and now told only thing to do is cancel my contract and go elswhere. Nice one talk talk.
    So i am doing this.
    Pity cause other services brilliant.
You just lost £100 per month of my money.

Poor customer service, lines often engaged so can't even get through to complaints department and although they offer to 'phone you within 24 hours do not.
Using their webmail a joke as frequently not accessible due to talktalk difficulies or 'planned maintenance' which lasts for hours. Looking forward to end of contract so can leave company

Wifi works - sales & customer success teams are cr*p. I got a call out the blue asking if I wanted a security add on for 4 pounds extra a month. I only had 6 months left of my contract so I said yes. The sneaky bloke added 18 months onto the contract but never asked me if I wanted this. I had to find out 5 months later when double checking all my last statements before going away travelling. I have since spent 8+ hours on multiple phone calls to them trying to get it resolved. I get bumped around teams and no-one wants to take accountability and switch me back to my original contract.
Their complaints team called me back twice but there was no sound on the other line. I call their main line and get sent around different teams before eventually I get hung up on. This has happened to me 4 times today.

The customer service was appalling. The one
Time that I had to contact them due to
Their error I found the customer service,
Unprofessional , not understanding, and did not
Grasp the reason for my call.
Very disappointing because the actual connection
Of the broad band was great. A great shame I
Would suggest that they allow you to speak to
A professional an English speaking person
If you have a complaint to resolve. Nothing
About overseas contracts but this does not
Work for talk talk. Overall satisfaction is zero
Not the above as your web page will not allow amend

I have been with TalkTalk for the last two years and in that time I have experienced some appalling customer services from their team but nothing which comes close to the completely unprofessional disaster that I experienced today.

In total I spent approx. 56 minutes on the telephone attempting to negotiate a new contract with this company. I was passed through three different advisors, all of whom offered me the earth moon and stars to prevent me from leaving before being transferred to a further third advisor in India who abruptly went through the standard identification procedure and listened to the reason for my call, (the previous advisor never bothers to inform the next of the reasons for the transfer) before placing me on hold in such a way which allowed me to hear the conversation in the call centre.

For the next twenty minutes (until I finally felt too appalled to continue listening) I heard the advisor laugh and joke with her colleagues without ever coming back to me. When I called back after having calmed myself down I was informed that everything I had been told by all three previous advisors had been incorrect and I could effectively take the price or leave it.

Needless to say I am now with EE who are actually must cheaper. In a nutshell I will just say this. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever encountered and before you think about signing up to them, think again. It is truly not worth the hours of being placed on hold to India only to be treated in a disgraceful and unprofessional manner. No amount of savings are worth the hassle.

Our phone gave up again, it's always the on-street boxes with crumbling wiring. It took 3 hours of online chat, my husband running out of phone credit after 19 minutes of not being answered and using the neighbours' TT phone, which the robot said wasn't a TT phone. Lots of emails to Dido Harding, assurances something being done for the next two days, then a call from CEO's office from a Steven Macphail - appropriate name - who insisted the fault was in the house, despite my husband explaining why it couldn't be. Engineer called today and, hey presto, it's an external fault. Email from Macphail to say he'd had the report and it was a faulty router, which had been replaced!!!!! What? Had to call engineer who couldn't believe it - we heard him call the diagnosis in - so he had to call them again. I've sent lots of emails, asked for compensation and assurance that in future, the calls will be escalated immediately because it's always the BT wiring in one or other of the boxes. There have been 20 emails on this so far, I've set up a folder for them all. The online chat people - 6, because I kept getting kicked off - kept telling me to call a certain number; to which I replied 'how, I have no phone?' We are retired and rely on the home phone, I'm also disabled, which they know. What a useless shower they are.

Had been with TalkTalk for phone & Tiscali for B/B for several years with no problems. Then in June, switched to a total package with Tiscali, phone & B/B for £28/month.
First invoice was for £45.80 & when I queried the amount they cut off my broadband , cancelled my account. Would'nt or could'nt restore my B/B service.Spent around 8 hrs on the phone to their centres trying to get service back..useless.
Wrote to their top management complaining. NO reply at all. Dont touch TalkTalk with a barge pole. Would never recommend them even to my worst enemy.
