UTTELRY AWFUL. Sold us package on line that they then wouldn't honour. Never delivered router - lied about sending it on a courier etc etc. Overcharged us. Never ever got connected in 6 weeks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Not too bad until you come to leave. Their current sales tactic is to offer discounts for 9 months then hike the price. Their system won't let you downgrade and give notice to cancel at the same time, so you can do one or the other. Either keep the service at an inflated price and give notice, or downgrade and wait to cancel, resulting in another month of revenue for them. I should mention that you need to give 31 days notice, even though you sign a 12 month contract. It seems like a very underhand tactic.

Absolutely shocking internet, stupidly slow only getting 200 kbps on a good day, 91% packet loss average and the upload speed is around 0.000000000000000000001 kbps. Always problems with it being down and the ping is always terrible. Worst internet service provider out there. going back to virgin media, bit more expensive but you pay for what you get... good internet!!!

Absolute bunch of idiots. i have just transferred over to sky and they have "forgotten to tick a box" so that I can keep my existing telephone number. They are now telling me I cant have that number anymore and have to have a new number. How pathetic!

Have been Sky customer for number of years and their level of service has dropped year on year. Firstly they moved from Google mail to Yahoo mail for their Email provider - since then their spam and malicious emails have hit the roof (used to get none before! - this has been verified with other users on Sky's own forum!) Secondly their broadband speeds are poor compare to other providers, which leads me onto my third point, their prices are rising without any improvements in service levels - much better deals are out there for (especially for phone and broadband). Finally you can forget getting through to customer service, hours on hold; never an agent free on online assistance and they make is as difficult as possible to make a complaint, probably because all their lines and agents are busy making complaints!! i am looking for better deals.

Slow, unreliable and a total waste of time. This is the worst broadband Ive ever used and the connection drops out every few minutes making it useless. Do not use, do not do it no matter how cheap the cost is because you will pay!

Ever since Sky took over my Broadband from O2, my speeds have consistently fallen, to the current 2M. With O2 I usually got at least 3 to 4M most days.

For the pst 18 months myself and my partner have complained about broadband connectivity, We loose the ability to record programmes, loose recordings thyat we thought were recording ok and unable to download movies and the whole package is awful. We are fobbed off each time and although engineers come out the problem reoccurs. For £75 pcm the service is awful and not worth the money. I am going to look at alternative packages as the service is lousy. Totally p ssed off with Sky!!!!!

Absolutely appalling! Broadband is slow and router needs constant resetting. Download speeds as low as 700 kps and never faster than 1.4 most. Apparently that's normal according to Sky! Our phone line continually ceases to work and we are only 100 m from the exchange. Avoid Sky at all costs as their services are rubbish and customer service is not existent!!

When I first signed up to sky I applied for an account which included 6 months reduced broadband. For reasons out of my control this attempt failed.
I then received a phone call offering me what the operator said was basically the same package. Amongst all the jargon I failed to catch the part where she would tell me that the 6 months reduced broadband would not be included. By the time I noticed this, I was signed into a 12 month contract.
At the end of the 12 month contract, I received no notification that my contract was ending and so i could apply for a new service. Instead I was placed on a rolling contract.
At the time on the phone, the operator also offered me free weekend calls, I said "I wasn't planning to use a landline phone anyway." I was told, "well it doesn't matter because it comes free, so you may as well have it". after 12months however this service became a service i was paying for.
I received no notification of this fact either.
Partly my own ignorance and lack of organisation and partly I believe the misinformation and smoke and mirrors of the sky sales team, leads me to write this review and warn others of the consequences of signing up for broadband with sky.

I my opinion the braodband was not bad. However we had problems when we started use it, as we had to proof to the SKY customer service adviser that phone line is not working because of their fault. Finally when we had to cancel the contract, as we were leaving UK, I have read in terms and conditions that I have to leave 31days notice, but for some reason sky customer service adviser told me she can cut off the service after 14days, of course!! Why not? I paid my termination fees straight away, and after one month I saw on my bank account I was charged again for termination fees by SKY!!! So I called to customer service from abroad and I was told that it is my fault not their adviser as I knew I had to leave 31days notice. So means adviser pushed me into trouble? the worst service ever, unfortunately ;/ disappointed :/

Be warned, Sky is not all about customer service.
Talked into switching from BT infinity to sky fibre, promising disruption only being a matter of minutes. I had to suffer without broadband for 4 days, on the bright side they did transfer my telephone as promised allowing me to complain about there service, & for the tech team to be as much use a chocolate fire guard.

When an e-mail server gets a virus, and the software is hijacked by a botnet, Who are you going Call? Not Sky.com the ISP that is sending the spam. Abuse@ is generic, then reception at Customer Service is pathetic. Finally locate the NOC (Network Operations phone number), call it, and "You need to know who to speak with? is the first question from the switchboard. There is no 911 or 111 number to call for Network support, and heaven help you if you speak a foreign version of the Queens English ( Called Canadian English / US English) then you get even less service from a company with 58,000 employees. Terrible. Don't spend your money hooking up with Sky.com Choose another prover that will support you.

Absolutely disgraceful of Sky as per usual cancelled 5 months ago and been out of the country to come back to see they've continued to direct debit money from my account due to a "system error". Plenty of history with Sky where I've had packages cancelled but continued to have my money taken out from my account. Pitiful and no forthcoming sense of apology. I'm a contractor and the 30mins I've been on the phone (and still am) has equated to £60 loss of earnings. Not only has Sky wrongly taken my money, the cost me further money by wasting time on the phone. Absolutely apoplectic with the company's blasè attitude and exasperated to have conversations like this AGAIN. Shameful of Sky. Wouldn't recommend Sky to anyone.

I was with O2 until I was transferred to Sky Connect. Initially, broadband was OK but more recently, the download speed drops regularly at 4 pm each weekday and all day Saturday and Sunday until midnight from about 6Mbps to under 1 Mbps. At one point it bottomed at .09Mbps! This, despite my house being about 700 metres from the BT Exchange and 100 metres from the Control Box. Sky Customer Service, however, has been excellent and sent an Open Reach engineer on 4 occasions to try - albeit unsuccessfully - and determine the problem which, I suspect, is caused by extreme 'traffic management'. Sky Customer Service have acknowledged the problem, and I am now in the process of moving to another ISP. I am afraid, therefore, that I could not recommend Sky Connect broadband.

i love sky it is reliable, never cuts out. sky+HD and sky TV is amazing. but the only thing letting it down is the internet speed, [200 KB/s] it lets me down a lot even on youtube watching videos at 360p. apart from that it is good.

CROOKS! First let me say that I didn't join Sky by choice, I was transferred when they took over O2. I also noticed the slower broadband speed that others have mentioned, but that isn't my main complaint! I had as part of my package free international calls, which is what I joined O2 for in the first place. This was also transferred to Sky until suddenly I noticed a much higher charge to Sky on my bank statement. It turns out that they suddenly decided to transfer me (and everyone else on the same package) to a different package which didn't include international calls! They said I could 'upgrade' to the new international package and pay more for the privilege. Not only that, they would lock me into another year contract to receive the same service as I always had. This is clearly just an underhand way of holding on to customers, while getting them to pay even more. With me it hasn't worked, I've just signed up with Plusnet.

Unreliable internet connection which causes a lot of frustration. The connection keeps cutting off when it wants to and then coming back on when it wants to; there is no sequence to it. The broadband can sometimes take a long time to load up a new page. The customer service advisers do help with the necessary steps to take in order to resolve the issue with the internet connection however the same problems are still occurring. Sky broadband are the worst internet connection by far

Signed up for Sky Broadband with promises about average speeds and guaranteed minimum speeds and just been a disaster.

There has been excuse after excuse from customer services and trying to me, BT and the man down the street called Joe. Transferring to another providers and Sky still have the cheek to charge for a service that didn't work. (0.8mb is the fastest I have seen)

Without exaggeration the worst internet provider I have used having lived in 4 european countries.

The only thing worse and slower than their internet service is their customer service. Can't even register a complaint unless you have several hours of your life to waste on hold.

Would not recommend them under any circumstances. Stick with BT or Virgin.

Absolutely useless! We were with O2 broadband until Sky took over and how they managed to ruin a good service I will never know! The speed is poor, ping varies every second so gaming is pointless have to keep resetting the router even though they sent their new hub, which is worse than the router I had previously. Unfortunately it seems there is no decent supplier of BB and have nowhere to go. :(

We have been sky customers for nearly five years and in the last couple of months our broadband kept playing up - we quite reasonably asked to change our router as it is also nearly five years old - we have been ignored and kept been told that we should change the channel and the router would not be the issue ( without actually checking it ) the only other option we were given was to change to the more expensive fiber optic, which we did not want... We are actually changing to a new supplier and as a
Leaving present we were presented with an early cancellation fee - after nearly five years - because they increased their prices last June and as we did not cancel then this was seen as a renewal of our contract and this is how they justified the charges .... After resetting our router 3 times a night to have some sort of connection we are not sad to leave

Broadband is worst I have ever experienced, it keeps cutting out, dropping out and when it does work its ridiculously slow, have reported before and was let down. Has been supposedly fixed but clearly is not, not value for money and will consider a new provider when contract is up if I dont cancel myself before hand.

Was a little nervous about switching phone as new experience for me but switched both phone and unlimited broadband from BT to Sky today.
Am very happy as switch went smoothly, good monthly saving and download speed same as was previously getting which is 40% above maximum estimated speed.
One hiccup in that despite all the Sky blurb stating that Caller display is switched on by default it wasn't - customer services very helpful and efficient and it was working within 4 hours

would be ok if it actually worked. although it is on 99% of the time, if you're doing anything that requires a semi decent connection, forget about it.
The lag spikes are horrendous. Making gaming almost impossible. You could be seeing someone freeze the randomly teleport about the place for up to 5 seconds. A typical ping to a european server would be around 78 which isn't that bad, but it can jump to >600 for 10's of seconds at a time. Videos are a constant annoyance too. With streaming anything even remotely HD before the lag kicks in and it then tries to load standard def. This repeats over and over again causing terrible stutter.

Combined with the pretty poor wireless signal from the router and the money that they charge to bundle in with other services I really cannot recommend this to anyone.

Other friends in different towns and even my own also complain of the same problem.

    Utterly terrible
