we have been with sky for over three years all sorts of stuff happening :
- be careful they are only maintain sky box and router up to a year afterwards its up to you to fix them or 100 pounds for an engineer visit they will always tell you it is your fault so you need to pay
- they wont send engineer to check the line if your internet is bad just tell you on the screen it looks ok and if you insist on engineer coming 100 pounds a visit
- regular internet speed adversed up to 16 Mb NO YOU CANT GET MORE THAN 5.5Mb as routers they give to costumers will only do 5.5 (factory setting)
and the best you are not allowed better router its said in contract and if they catch you using one they can end contract with you but you still need to pay up to a year services or go to court
- fibre optic fast? no well it is when it works as I speak 2.6Mb
on average 8-9 they promise 15 but that's rare only when you get lucky there is a wave coming your way
- try terminate contract with them that is where it really starts 6 days an hour and a half each day on the phone and it is still not done ( we have done over 3 years with them so its not like we are cancelling early.

Shocking, wr moved house and couldn't get Virgin so had to change to this mob.
Took them over 4 weeks to set up our internet and now it's not even working. Shuts off all the time and the speeds are worse than a 2G data connection.
Stay away.

We joined Sky in January 2021 and left in May 2021 after we had a nightmare broadband, landline and customer service from them. It started with overbilling. We signed up to a promo deal run through their 3rd party partner, Curry's and we got billed higher by Sky until we produced evidence of an email confirming our original deal. It spiralled downwards from there. We got thrown out of Zoom, Skype and other virtual meetings, we experienced consistent freezing and slow speeds at least 6 times daily and at weekends when most people aren't working. Yet, the customer service was a shambles. In my experience, I've never experienced anything as woeful as Sky customer services. The only thing I can say is that their staff are possibly overwhelmed by the mountain of complaints they get that the poor guys can't handle much more. But that's me just finding an excuse for them. Funnily enough, sometimes the staff also experience disruption in their Sky broadband services as most work from home. This happened twice when customer service calls were abruptly terminated and the staff concerned came back and apologised by leaving voice messages. What a disaster! When we finally decided to move, they cut off our broadband and landline services immediately and our landline number which we've had for over 20 years was terminated without allowing us to keep our number which we've had for over 20 years. This was devastating for us as all our families worldwide have always relied on calling us on that number. We also use the number for business as I am self-employed and work from home. We will not rest until we get our number back or take it all the way legally if we don't get a satisfactory solution from Sky. They have caused us great aggravation in only 5 months. They are the pits as far as customer care goes. Why Ofcom hasn't intervened and banned Sky from providing broadband services is beyond me. Also, why can't we score them a zero on this platform? My advice to anyone looking for a broadband provider is to steer well clear of Sky.

Sky should be put on watchdog for the nightmare they put you through. Been with them for a year now, after switching from my partner's account to mine in order to get a 'new customer' discount. Little did we know this move would cost us 3 weeks of no broadband and no phone whilst waiting for a new phone line which by the way, was already in the flat. What makes this worse is that we were advised to go down this route by a sky salesman in Bury! Fast forward to January this year, a time until which our broadband was mediocre at best. Websites loading in over 10 seconds and just stodgy speed was the norm. So, mid-January everything turned for the worse. Broadband stopped working and the phone line kept cutting out. We are in March now and 3 engineer visits later, still no happier. Last time I phoned up and asked for an engineer for the umpteenth time, they said they couldn't send anybody out until a long-standing line test was done. I insisted I had had engineers in the past few weeks without that test so I couldn't see the obstacles in them dispatching somebody out again. No avail. Kept fobbing me off with their courses of action and other nonsense. My internet is cutting out every minute and i lose phone conversations mid-way because the line goes dead. As soon as my contract is up, I'm out of this disastrous contract, needless to say.

So bad we couldn't even open an account with them due to their website not working properly! Wanted the free £100 prepaid mastercard offer from them so went online, put details in then message appeared saying unfortunately they couldn't get any installation dates please call our sales advisors (wtf!!!) so we phoned them they said they could open an account over phone but that the £100 offer was online only. I said I'm not being conned into doing it over ohone and losing the offer so tried again online, but on laptop. Same error message again, so went on live chat, they said to try different browser such as google chrome, spent time downloading it then entered details AGAIN. Guess what, same message. Contacted different live chat operator, told tgem situation, they said to try firefox. Downloaded it, tried again, wasted more time putting details in again. Same crappy message.
I can only guess that either their website is rubbish and their staff are clueless, OR they are steering people away from an offer they don't want to honour, by getting people to sign up over the phone.
If they're this bad BEFORE you sign up, how bad are they AFTER opening an account with them???

Got an appointment in 2 weeks time, the engenier will come any time between 1 till 6pm, asked a day off at work to be here. The egeneir shows up check the house around, check the front of the house, and decided that he cannot do the job cause he has not brought the cable that he needs or the ladder. Call Sky and they said that we will have to wait 4 more days to get a chance to get another appointment for the next 3 weeks. Like seriously?

We have moved home and it took 3 weeks to provision another line but that might have been BT rather than Sky. When the arrived the broadband did not work. According to the customer service, it was due to the fault on the line. Customer service said that the engineer will come within 5 working days. 45 minutes later, the engineer had fixed the line!!! :-) WELL DONE!!!

Recently I stupidly tried to move my broadband and landline to Sky. I am a Sky VIP TV member for the last 20 years.
I have been promised a broadband booster to deal with the now terrible broadband, and 3 engineer visits. None have happened. Our landline has not worked once since moving over.
Since we moved to broadband, our mobile subs AND TV subs went up this week.
I am going to seek legal action.
When my friends heard I had moved to Sky, every one, without fail, told me it was a stupid idea, as they all had awful experiences, without fail.
STAY AWAY from this incompetent company.

It's been the first time my partner and I decided to order a TV and broadband as we were moving to our new flat. We have booked the installation 2 weeks before we actually move in so everything's set up before our arrival. The engineer came only with the sky box and said that the broadband with router will follow. Obviously to book another day off work my other half called them to confirm the next day he should be expecting the engineer. To our surprise our order didn't include the broadband at all even though it has been confirmed a week before the installation was to take place. I've spent hours on the phone talking to them about sorting this out. The consultant was rude enough to even laugh in my face saying that I've obviously known that broadband hasn't been ordered. After cancellation and filing a complaint I was promised to be given a refund for the installation. It has been 2 weeks since then money still isn't on my account and I ended up being given misleading information from both sky customer service and the av uk engineers. Absolutely poorly customer service, total chaos and miscommunication in the company, not worth the time or money. Avoid at all costs!

Horrible !!! Stay away people from this company. Theirs selling practices are so bad that I feel they should be reported somewhere for a legal action . Customer service I would rate 0 if possible. When rang up someone actually hung up on me . They overcharged me . The internet is rubbbish , speed is rubbish . I thought after being with Talk talk I would never have to go through nightmare again. Well I was wrong ..... Be ashamed ....

Many calls to them!
I got an engineer appointment to fix my problem, no one came and then the customer service told me that the speed is maximum which not reached 6.
I have cancelled the contract with them.

Consistently poor broadband speed which drops out at a moments notice. Highest speed I've ever seen is 3mbps, but I am consistently on 1mbps or less.

Utter Sh**. Sorry for my language but I'm very frustrated!. I had no idea I wash't the only one who had dropped internet. To make things even worse there customer service is just as bad. My internet has been going off short periods of times. Sometimes 10 times in 5 minutes.for 8-9 months straight. Now I have chosen to cancel. Customer service of sky just use " we will send an engineer to fix it" for all problems. Sky have a record of how many times a day my internet has dropped. Sky don't even bother calling back or checking up on us to see how were dealing with there problem!. It's shocking how they loop calls and waste your time. nothing has been done about my internet and every time i call its the exact same words over and over again. I suggest to anyone don't go near sky broadband!!!!. If you want to stress yourself out go ahead!. Its been another 2 weeks and I can believe we will have to call again, tho this will be our last call as I will definentely cancel and go for virgin media broadband .

Horrendous support. Sky makes is almost impossible to reach them for problems as they have this annoying bot that takes you in loops- both when calling and online. The promises made on their speed are a blatant lie and then despite guarantee to not charge if a certain speed hapoen - full price is charged!

On Sky Fibre using the black SR102 hub on a 40MB subsription. Using a wired connection I get 39mb, but the wireless part of the hub is worse than useless I often get 1 - 2MB if I'm luck I might get 5mb down on a good day. Having researched the issue lots of people are having the same issue. From what I can make out there is interferance issue with the power supply and the wireless antenna. Long with sky using old technology in the hub adds to the problem. I would not recommend sky fibre until they sort out their routers

After a few years satisfactory service and an excellent connection and download speed I am now faced with a pathetic 2-3 megs. A male service chap insisted that I check all my home phones despite my telling him that they were all disconnected and that I had been running my router via a filter direct to my master BT box; that I had changed cables and filter. the surly response from him "listen to me....". He expected me to repeat my test, using a mobile for him to call back. I had no mobile at hand so I gave up,told him I would seek another server.
Clearly Sky or BT had a restriction on download speed and I'm faced with a hesitant connection and a slow service for the princely sum of £15 per month.

Having subscribed to sky boost,I had to threaten to leave Sky after seven open reach engineers, seven Sky engineers could not resolve the constant dropping out of my internet connection , disappointed that I was left to resolve the problem on my own without Sky resolving it for me.

Beware of sky. The first 6 months of my 18 month contract they kept getting my bill wrong. Always overcharging never under charged. I phoned to cancel last month as my contract was finishing. They never disconnected services and I now have to pay an extra month which is when it was due to increase. If they don't disconnect next month they can sue me.each time I talk to sky agent I get different answer. Incident ly when they first installed they put my landline and broadband in the wrong address so had to wait another month with no telephone and broadband which they charged for. Please people avoid this company like the plague

Absolutely abysmal. I've had problems with this broadband connection constantly. At first, I figured it was where my home was, but after moving house the connection was still absolutely disgraceful. The speed of the broadband was good, but that's only when it wasn't acting up. Every few days my sky would come up with the message "192.168.0.1" and suggested only one option to fix the broadband, to disconnect the router for 5 seconds and reconnect. Every time, this didn't solve the problem. Even after contacting sky themselves, the problem still wasn't solved. Sometimes it reconnected for 5 minutes before disconnection with the same message. By far the WORST broadband I have EVER received and if they don't fix this soon they will lose a valued customer! I am someone who depends on the internet connection to complete work and my work is suffering for this pathetic connection for which I expect to receive a higher standard given that I am paying for it.

Was with O2 for several years without any problems, good service and connection. Think I only had to phone customer service once during 4 years and problem sorted. We got switched over to Sky a few months ago and problems started shortly after. For 6 weeks now we've had just dialup speeds and connection keeps dropping. Have phoned customer service so many times and get taken through same tests every time. Have lost count of the amount of times I've taken the face plate off and moved wires around. Seems to be no record of the problem and have to run through same stuff every time. Finally sent out an engineer last Saturday after 6 weeks of chasing. He was here for 5 minutes and problem now passed back onto Open reach so expecting a BT engineer out again (2nd time). Unless I keep chasing nothing gets done and the fault just disappears off their system, then we have to start all over again. Having read some of the reviews on here I think I will try and change to another provider asap. Have been asking about a refund seeing as our connection speeds are so slow but told no refunds can be given until the problem is fixed. Absolutely useless so far - wouldn't recomment to anyone.
