Dreadful speed. measured over several weeks and only got 3.5 mbs instead of promised 11mbs. Drops out quite often. Customer Services open a ticket when you report it but do nothing and do not reply. Absolutely dreadful. Avoid at all costs.

The broadband keeps cutting out not sure if it is the router or the system. At peak times the speed can be slow but its not that bad...providing the connection doesn't cut out which happens nearly daily.

    Broadband is unreliable.
It disconnected from day one about 2-3 times and hours.
Also when ask them that you want to leave the contract does not have any clause that you can leave in after first week if you not happy without the service.
I was told after in the first week itself if i have to leave i have to pay full contract break charges.
They did send openreach so it did fix the speed issue but the frequent drops in interenet are more 5-6 times in hours.

I am really disappointed about how bad is the quality of broadband. I have to keep on resetting the modem at least twice a day if i am lucky otherwise more. This of course happens always during work hours which is quite annoying specially because i work from home and is really affecting my ability to work. Promise that if i lose the job because of them they will receive a letter from my lawyer.

Broadband constantly cuts out, showing only a red flashing light. Told to change filter still no improvement. Your lucky if the internet works in a different room to where the router is. When speaking to the customer services team for a second time they told me I had cancelled my account and then changed their story to me changing address, neither is true and when speaking about cancelling my account there was multiple attempts at guilt tripping me into staying. Appalling customer service.

Finally made the effort to leave and glad to do so. Started as a great service eight or so years ago but in the recent past a steady decline. Confusing pricing changes/increases and a definite and significant slowing down of speeds (suspect some sort of choking off at peak times). A pity really - would have remained a loyal customer, but something has gone very wrong. 'Bye Post Office.

This possibly the worst company I have dealt with. I thought that the post office with its history in communications would be a good choice. Their customer service is non existent and they take ages to answer queries. There on line billing cannot be viewed on an iPad as it needs adobe flash
Avoid this company as they won't be in business for long

Switched to Post Office and disappointed from the start. Broadband slower than old provider, but paperwork suggested this could be so at start.
To their credit they sent a BT engineer to check line and he changed box and filter. However this has not made much difference and when I complained again I was told speed depended on numbers using etc and dismissed by customers service very quickly. It's not worth trying to use my laptopn after 4pm. I've been to my daughter's, who is using BT and my laptop works fine, even with my grandson on his laptop and mobile phone in the same room. This proves to me that my lap is working ok. I use Microsoft defender and keep it up to date.

Won't use again. The child filter blocks a lot of children's sites that it shouldn't, the BT one was much better. Reliability is so-so if all you're doing is downloading files but I've had numerous problems with port 22 (ssh) getting blocked, meaning some applications don't work properly, despite phoning them on many occasions (with ridiculously long on-hold times). Very cheap, but in hindsight not worth the saving.

Was with Fuel Broadband who were the best provider I've ever been with. Post Office bought the service. On the day the switch happened my speed dropped from the stable 14.6Mb I ALWAYS had, to 6-8Mb. I contacted them and they claimed that I could only get 8.5Mb. I told them that was a lie and what I got with Fuel, but they would not relent and told me I should have checked before joining them!!! I told them it was for them to tell me what speed to expect, not the other way around. Move on a few months, I've had to call out Engineers numerous times due to the line going dead. PO claim it's my equipment. Engineers say all is fine with my equipment, but PO keep saying it's my equipment, so they send me a new router, but fault still remains. 'It's your socker', no it's BRAND NEW!! They have also been only reporting the faults to OpenReach as basic line faults, so the Engineer can't do a full investigation! STAY WELL AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!

Absolutely disgusting treatment of a customer! Been with them for a year and while the service was mostly ok for the price, suddenly my bill jumped from £20 to £37! £37 just for internet and a phone line I've never used, no tv or other extras. When I contacted them about it they told me it's because I've come to the end of my contract. I was told I would have the £17 refunded if I agreed to sign another contract with them. Its 2 days before my payday and I have an 11 week old baby and that money was set aside for formula as I explained to them but was told that is the only way I would get the money refunded and would have to wait a minimum of 5 days for the refund. What good is that to me and why would I sign another contract with them if this is how they treat their customers? So now my baby has no formula. Thank you very much! And the woman kept saying she was trying to help me! I worked in tele sales and trust me, this is NOT helping. Both people I spoke to over the phone were extremely patronising and really didn't care about the situation they'd left me in. Customer service is beyond appalling. Avoid these scumbags.

I can honestly say this is the worst broadband provider I have ever been with. Switched from Sky as their price was creeping up, but moving back as the saving is not worth the hassle. When I contacted them about it, they just emailed me back saying to report the fault and someone will look at it within 28 days.

Connection constantly drops out and although connected to the router, there is no internet connection. When it does work, speed is OK, but nothing special. Don't even try connecting two devices at the same time, one if not both will not work.

I know the likes of Sky and BT are more a little more expensive, but trust me when I say there is a reason for it. I have regularly switched to 'smaller' providers for things like insurance and utilities in the past, but this has seriously put me off doing so in the future. I went with Post Office thinking they are a well known, established organisaion, but am surprised a name like Post Office would have such a poor service.

Have been with Post Office for 1 year, it is terrible. The download and upload speed is terrible.....paid for fibre thinking it would be a lot better, but roughly the same. I seem to be phoning them quite a lot as our internet goes quite frequently, and all they do is run a few tests, then leave me to undone master switch, and monitor myself, no help at all. I would stay away from this company...sorry I switched now, and have to wait another 6 months before I can get out my contract

I work from home, and lose connection at least once a day. When I contacted Post Office about this issue, they totally misinterpreted my complaint and thought I was complaining that the service was too slow, and simply haven't responded on the issue that I have been having.

Speed itself is generally fine when it's working (which it does >90% of the time), but I cannot recommend a provider whose service drops out at least once a day - often in the middle of important work calls.

I've been with PO broadband for about 18 months. The first year it all worked fine, but over the last 6 months broadband speeds have plummeted, and it is often unusable. During the night, I get a solid 7Mbps, but during the day and evening this drops to well below 1Mbps - classic symptoms of too many customers on too little resource. Customer service insist on going through all the tedious checks, and assume it is a customer fault, even though the system is quite clearly capable of working properly. Now looking for an alternative.

Moved to the Post Office from Sky. Wish I'd never moved - internet constantly drops and there is no one available to help.
I've raised multiple tickets and still to this day not even had an acknowledgement that my ticket has been received/assigned.

To be honest I wish I hadn't gone for the cheapest supplier and instead stayed with Sky or another reputable supplier as there is nothing worse than when the product is not working and no one to help you.

AVOID and pay a few £ extra for a proper service!

Post office broadband must be the worst broadband provider I have ever been with, it is guaranteed to drop connection at least a dozen times a day, the speed for me is about the same as other service providers I have used (even better than sky at least) . I personally believe that it's not just the line but the maim problem is the routers, I feel that they cannot handle the data transfer and therefore disconnects when it gets overwhelmed. if they sort this problem out I may consider staying with them but if not I will be changing.
my advice would be to shop around and make the post office your last resort...

4* for customer service as change over was trouble free and service at branch was friendly and polite. Trouble is the broadband is utter crap and I'm tied in now. Debilitatingly, business damagingly slow, absolutley gutted. Seen what others have written; seems pointless even complaining. DO NOT TAKE ON PO BROADBAND! You get what you pay for.

Slow speeds often under 0.90mbps, can't watch any video even tiny ones. Drops out several times a day. raised 5 tickets, each one says its been fixed but it hasn't. Not impressed, I will have to go back to plusnet as soon as i can escape, but took out 18month contract. When on phone to tech they seem very attentive and say they will call back but hey, they don't! poor - such a shame i had hoped they would surpass the giant BT but no, just cheaper..

AVOID, these people are rip off merchants.

Moved from Talktalk because the deal price was good for broadband and landline with calls.
first bill was as expected £19.
second bill £62, apparently mobile phone weren't included. Wasn't happy, its over £300 to get out of the contract or add as I was told on the phone while complaining £2/month additional to include mobiles.
So third bill £40. £19+2 does not equal £40.

    Time to complain again.

These please lie, I will be out of this contract asap and will never use them again.

Moved from BT to Post Office and found my download speed very low. Any video and audio was constantly re-buffering. Helpdesk were polite and tried lots of things but it was obvious that servers are overloaded which meant speeds plummet at peak times. They didn't argue much when I said I was leaving after only 6 weeks which indicates they are aware of the issues ?

I regret this decision so much, we joined with them 6 months ago, our router was delayed getting here then they set back our date for another 2 weeks despite me pleading that I am starting Uni and need internet, then for the price and hassle they offer the slowest internet it seems in the area and the router is so unreliable we have to reset it every other day.

We;re leaving now but then we have a huge cancellation fee to pay up on which I think is ridiculous

Customer services, will feed you a line, time and time agian. They rely on a direct competitor to install their service. ??? Yes indeed. NUTS!!!... however, for the price, if you are not relying on fast broadband, and your not bothered about any kind of service past 11pm, it's value for the money. Joke otherwise.

Despite twice querying during mye transfer from Plusnet why there was a 15 day wait between telephone and broadband changeover I was not told that the service would be by a different line. They could then have told me the likely speed. I received 6+Meg from Plusnet. The speed PO quoted was 7-8 meg, I actually received 0.5! It took 3 days to get admission that this was all they could provide. They have also billed twice for the rental despite my warning they were duplicating! They say they didn't guarantee a speed. They are still quoting on their speed checker 7-8 Meg for my neighbour!

When the service was live there was no problem. Connectivity suddenly dropped off and engineers were able to identify it was a faulty hub. Waited for over a month for new parts. Customer services kept promising me but nothing materialised. Still waiting.

First off, Iv'e been with broadband for many years (Since 2009/8) Which, i will admit was easy going and no issues up until around 2014. The speed's is Horrible, and Should not be sell able in my opinion. I have given chance after chance. (My speed Fluctuates well below 1mbps and 0.09 Upload) Im disgusted at this service, Avoid this service And go to a better provider. The router also decided to stop working at random intervals. and has to be rebooted. Im going to be swicthing over to BT Infinity in the coming weeks to get away from all this. The only decent thing about PO Broadband is the fact that you may, if your lucky enough will get someone who can actually help and NOT waste your time! Also, if you go over your usage limit your speeds drop horrendously! I mean, they give you Horrible speeds when not capped, and they have the cheek top cap you lower, even though your already under 1mbps. Im absolutely done with this company! Avoid like the plague

We live on a farm at end of the phone line in rural Yorkshire, so broadband is going to be fantastic.

However the broadband speed that Post Office would suffice for general internet use and occasional movie streaming. However the actual speed was only 2/3 of what was suggested.

What really got our goat was when the contact ended and our bills went up from roughly £20pm to £27 then to £37. When we phoned up to speak to them, they were very rude and told us it was our own fault for not knowing when our contract ended and it isn't current legislation to notify us and when I told them Sky let you know the operator said he had his broadband with Sky - when I questioned why he had a package with Sky and not Post Office he quickly moved me on to his usual bullsh!t spout about terms on conditions.

Avoid them like you would the plague. Pay more for a better service.

NEVER EVER GO NEAR THE POST OFFICE FOR YOUR TELECOMS.

I recently decided to change my internet & phone provider from The Post Office.
Primarily this was because on several occasions I had tried to contact them with regard to switching to an advertised better deal than the one I had been supplied. At one point even going into a Post Office to see if they could contact the appropriate office. No luck there either.

My new provider contacted the Post Office as a matter of course when 'switching'.

Which was why I was surprised when some time later I received an invoice from the Post Office, but for amounts in the future.

I telephoned them and Lo & Behold I actually got to speak to a human. I explained the situation, and was assured I would receive an updated invoice - which duly arrived with a 'pay by' date on it.

Why was I leaving I was asked – because your customer service is non existent, I replied, and was never offered a better deal even though I class myself as a loyal customer - No response to that.

I therefore arranged via internet banking to pay on the date they required, and it was duly paid on that date according to my internet statement.

Some days later I received a text from a company using 3 letters as a logo? I had never heard of, requesting I contact them urgently about a financial matter. Another scam I thought. I received several more 'urgent' requests over a period of days, so decided to 'play' and see what it was about, only to be told (I paraphrase here) the information required was of a delicate nature about a close friend – who? I inquired – 'we aren't allowed to release that information' – then I'm not going to speak to you, I reply!

A couple of days later I receive a snotty threatening debt collectors letter about proceedings that will ensue if I don't pay the outstanding debt (bearing in mind I have paid monthly on the dot for the last 6 years, I thought this was a bit rich).

I telephoned them, only to be told the debt was cleared. I know I said so why are you sending snotty letters dated after the payment date? It's paid now so it doesn't matter, says the operative.

All this because the Post Office are too incompetent/stupid/lazy/inept to liaise with anyone, let alone their debt collectors – what a bunch of unmitigated cretins – JUST NEVER GO THERE FOR YOUR TELECOMS.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
