DONT BUY. Very poor went for PO as it was cheap, as the saying goes you get what you pay for in this case you pay cheap and get a bad service. Goes off constant and service staff isn’t that great either. I wouldn’t recommend this broadband service to anyone.

Been a customer of PO broadband & phone premium for over six years.

Was fine until the PO hooked up with Talk Talk in place of BT.

For me an acceptable connection speed during the day 4-6mbps but every evening (7pm till very late) less than 1.2mbps or much worse, dropouts,,,,

Iplayer and Netflix drop out in the evenings basically unwatchable.

YOU COULD SAFELY BET YOUR GRANNYS BOOTS TALK TALKS BOX OFFICE TV ON DEMAND SERVICE IS TRAFFIC SHAPED PERFECTLY AND IS NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY EFFECTED BY DROPOUTS AND/OR INFERIOR CONNECTION SPEEDS.

Talk Talk and the PO are well suited. “18 month contracts” they should be wearing masks.

Bottom line if you are thinking about PO Broadband....don't, it is now unquestionably the low esteem fag end option and you now pay handsomely for it.

There are more intelligent solutions and services from telecoms suppliers out there for not a lot more money especially in view of the PO's latest price hikes I know I recently found one.....

It ran decent for the first few months but now it crashes 4 to 5 times a day and its download speed is incredibly unreliable. I would give reliability a lower score if it let me,do not buy.

The worst broadband I have ever had the misfortune of using. It constantly loses connection; at least 5 times a day. It crashes online games consistently. Web pages take ages to load. I am extremely disappointed with this broadband and will be swapping to a different one ASAP. Do not waste your time or money on this awful wifi.

Basic landline service, couldn't connect us -

My father's an 80 year old pensioner, with serious health issues. He was left without the ability to make out going calls for 3 weeks. Engineers on pre-arranged appointments failed to contact him directly. He cancelled plans and stayed in for these visits. Clueless support staff did not address any questions directly over the course of 12 phone calls (20 minutes each). As others have said, they give you the run-around. Automated checklists / troubleshooting scripts in the post did not address any issue at hand. An engineer was required, not time wasting letters. Finally, their insistence on customers to conduct their own 'line tests' using mobile phones, demonstrated utter incompetence and sheer unprofessionalism. How many pensioners favour smart-phones? Why should owning one be necessary, for this provider to be able diagnose faults on a service they are supposed to provide?! Other telecom companies manage connection hassle-free within an hour, the P.O failed after 3 weeks. Researching the P.O
online is revelatory, I'm glad I insisted he cancel the contract asap. Their customer care is truly abysmal and their service non-existent in our experience. Having an arrogant Nigerian on the other end of the line, a guy who could barely speak English properly, aggressively barking orders doesn't instil much confidence in a pensioner. Not good for any business providing coms service. Where ever you are NeWANAGU, thanks for aiding our decision... Please stay away from this provider folks.

How could Post Office have a bad service, on an Ookla Speed test, I only got 7-8 mbps from an Ethernet cable. We don’t use customer service, gonna rate it an average. We have been with Post Office for years which would have given them enough time to go through deals with us and hopefully improve the services but I guess all they want is money?? Post Office should stick with postal and money enquiries and leave the broadband market.
Oh, did I mention that it’s intermittent too? Once every week or so it will disconnect on us, we just wait it through. Would not recommend this provider. Don’t touch them with a barge pole. We are switching to EE, hoping they serve us better.

I was promised upto 9Mb speeds when I took out the contract (my previous supplier I was getting around 8Mb), although I am less than 2Km from the exchange and should achieve 12~15Mb the line is of very poor quality. The Post office broadband service as advertised assumes an ADSL2 or ADSL2+ service but in reality it is a very old G.DMT (1st gen ADSL) service not capable of more than 8Mb. I was misled into believing I would be getting a similar speed to my previous supplier but I now suffer lots of drop outs and speeds of less than 5Mb at times and never over6 (it was worse on the router they supplied). The post office are misleading customer by promising speeds that they know are impossible to achieve. Avoid this service if you view on demand TV. My set top box crashes when the Broadband is lost and rarely can I view a full program without a 5 minute interruption! The PO just tell me there are no faults on the line and completely disregard my complaint.

FOLKS!!! For goodness sake, PLEASE don't go anywhere near these amateurs.

I did the very silly mistake of signing up to PO Broadband without doing any reviews. After 13 weeks of waiting for my service to be switched, I managed to rid myself of them and go back to my original provider.

The guys in customer service are very nice, but completely powerless. In the end, I had to completely loose my rag, demand I be put through to someone who would cancel my account and allow me to move back.

The Post Office, in general, seems to be in a terrible state. I visited the post office last week and noticed that the branches are disgusting. Such a shame such a great institution has declined. The powers that be will probably blame the government, the customers, the weather - anyone but themselves.

    DON'T USE THEM!!!

Being a previous BT ISP user for many previous years, this PO basic Broadband deal has saved me 60pc of my previous line rental/charges, in the first year (ok, I cut out the free weekday calls). Even at the full rate, I now save 30pc of monthly fixed costs compared to BT. Please note that I am a light Internet user (Chromecast are my biggest downloads), but my service has now been faultless for 18 months.
I recently contacted PO for Freephone tech help (on my Girlfriends service!) and as well as getting straight though to a very helpful English guy, the problem was resolved by him, remotely, within 1/2 hour, Well done, thanks. Summary is, I have a great service at a great price, for my requirements.

Horrendous in every way..I first tried to cancel my contract prior to my service going live. I did leave it till the last minute but nevertheless I should have been able to due to their T's and C's. They told me their T's and C's had changed!!!..Although their literature I had in my hand, had NOT been changed..They would not budge and the service went live. 2 months ago I received notification that my Bill was about to increase !!...BT warned me this would happen. They draw you in to a "good value" 18 month package and then increase the cost after 4 to 6 months....I have Not had a working landline since Sunday 16th October.....Despite sending an email daily.I did not hear back from P>Office until Wednesday 19th Oct....They told me it was an external fault and they would report it to BT... It is now 25th Oct and I still dont have a working land line....I sent an e mail yesterday and today and still no response...offer of compensation or explanation. Utterly Useless....
The Broadband has been painfully slow and my modem needs rebooting about 8 times daily.
DO NOT under any circumstances use the Post Office as a service provider...They are expensive and Customer Service is Non existent ....Stick with the Devil you know...

Lost my service six months ago . They checked the line several times and stated that it was live. Several router resets didn’t work. They eventually sent an engineer who found that the line was dead and had been that way for many months. He also found that the router was not working properly. Eventually a new router was sent but was poor quality and didn’t work effectively.
Became so frustrated having laid for no service for six months to be offered £30 as a goodwill gesture. Tried to cancel the contract but they refused stating that they would charge me.
This company is awful. Don’t even consider taking a contract with them .

Dropped from a perfect 20 Mbps connection with Sky Broadband to an almost unusable 12Mbps connection with Post Office (actually Talk Talk) internet. The internet is almost unusable at peak times, they diconnect you every few seconds in order to free up bandwidth on their oversubscribed network, they steal 30% of your bandwidth up front under the guise of 'digital line management' (less stable than Sky's, who managed to keep the line stable at 20Mbps downstream, not unstable at 12 Mbps.)

Never, ever go with these charlatans. The customer service is unknowledgable and rude, the service is atrocious and the router is a piece of rubbish.

This is the complaint letter I wrote to them today, 24.8.2015 - says it all:
In April I chose to swop my broadband and telephone service to yourselves. I paid for the line rental for 12 months in advance and I recollect – although it was so long ago I cannot be sure exactly what was said - that the service would be up an running within 14 days of you receiving the mac code that I had to obtain from BT.

I requested the code the same day but did not receive it until three weeks later, when I gave you the code to activate the broad band, you said that I would receive the router about 5 days before the line went live.

The telephone line became active on the 1st of June, I knew this because BT advised me, but I had no communication from you.

When I did not receive the router I phoned up mid June, only to be told that you had tried to apply the mac code and it was faulty, however no one had contacted me to inform me of this. I phoned BT and they said the mac code was accurate, after much back and forth in telephone calls and time I finally ascertained that by the time you applied the code it was out of date which was why the broad band would not port. However the man I spoke to said that rather than wait for a new code from BT we may as well go ahead without this and have the broad band activated on the 21st of June as on that date new legislation came in which allowed companies to take over the broad band service without a mac code, I agreed to this and awaited the receipt of my router.

The 21st of June came and went and still no router, I was then away for three weeks and on my return again phoned only to be told that my broad band order had been cancelled, but that my telephone line would be live with you on the 7th of July. Your representative told me on several times that it was the telephone that would be live until I finally convinced him that this was already active.

I was then under the understanding that it was the broad band that would be live.

As the 7th approached and I still had no router I called again, this time I was told that the broad band would be live on the 7th but may not be activated by BT until up to the 21st, I again confirmed that I would have the router in good time so that there would be no loss of service and I am fairly sure that I explained that it was a holiday cottage and I was going to have to make the 3 hour journey to take the router to the cottage as it was being delivered to the account address in Atherstone, I was assured that this would be the case.

I then received and email from BT in the week ending the 14th to say that they were sorry I was leaving and their service with me would cease on the 21st.

On the 17th I had still not received the router and called again, this time I was told that they could not locate a tracking number, however not to worry as if no tracking order was found by the 21st they would then be able to re-order and I would get it in 3-5 working days. At that point I was totally exasperated with the downright inefficiency and robot like responses of your staff in general, plus their lack of ability to get anything right. I asked to speak to customer complaints and a lady whose name I think was Leanna, told me that she understood my frustrations and would arrange for a router to be dispatched on that day.

I was due to go away that weekend but was under the impression from my agents that no one was in the cottage until the 28th of August, the guests that were leaving would do so on the 21st so that any disruption to them would be minimum. On that basis I decided that I would mail the router direct to my agent when it arrived so that he could make sure it was in place for the guests that were due on the 28th. However it turns out that there are guests at the cottage and they have complained that they have no broadband.

On Saturday, the 22nd I received a letter from you which says

    Dear Mrs O’Donnell

    Yours sincerely
    Mariam Nazir
    Customer Experience Advisor
    Post Office Telecoms

Well I am sure I really need to know that Ms Nazir is your customer experience officer, and no doubt you must have felt it very important that I knew of this fact because that is all the letter has told me, so how about this for a reply to Ms Nazir – My experience with Post Office Telecoms has been ******* diabolical.

I again called today to ask where the router is and was told that Leanna and Ms Nazir had tried to contact me on the 18th and been unable to do so, although why they could not leave a voice mail I do not know and it seems odd that they did not reach me as I was at my desk most of the day and have no missed calls recorded, I imagine they used an incorrect number which would fit with your general standard of efficiency, the correct number is at the bottom of this email. Apparently the failed calls were to tell me that they could not find a tracking order and that they could only make an order for a second router when the broad band went live on the 21st, sounds familiar……..it is blatantly obvious that they could not find a tracking order because no router had been ordered in the first place.

At the very least I would have expected that the router would have been ordered on the 21st but surprise, surprise at 10.00 this morning of the 24th no order had been placed, had I not called it would still not be placed. It seems nothing can be done to speed the delivery up so to try and mitigate the ludicrous delay I have asked for it to go direct to my Agent and have been told that this is not a problem, I have repeatedly checked that this will be the case but have little faith due to previous experience with you.

I think the service I have received is dreadful, I can hardly believe I am saying this but it is far worse than BT, and that’s going some.

I would like to know what you intend to do to compensate me for this dreadful service that has caused me untold frustration, wasted my time and cost me money due to having to call you repeatedly as a result of your repeated inefficiency, and I await an answer to this.

BUT FIRST, THIS IS MY CALL TO ACTION TO YOU - AND I REQUIRE A REPLY WITHIN TWO HOURS, AND YES I AM SHOUTING:

I want someone of authority to confirm that the router will be dispatched today and mailed to the to the following address, and I require their name position and direct telephone number:

When phoned to say it isn’t working Kenya saying need a new connector from phone lone to modern which I had to pay for and still had same issues. Eventually decided to go with a different company and post office made me pay exit fee of over £80 even though it wasn’t my fault it didn’t work and didn’t give me the chance to dispute it really wouldn’t recommend anyone using them

It does not even deserve 1 star, would give 0 if I could. Late on live date by a week which isn't much but they messed us about and lied to us saying that it would go live day after day.

Once it went live connection kept cutting off and it was still within 14 days cooling off period but apparently they have a small print that says as soon as it goes live you can not cancel.

Phoned to get it sorted but the guy said I need to leave it for 10 days to let itself sort out. I did and barely get 200kb much less compared to what was advertised. Can not even watch youtube on one device.

If you need something reliable go with Sky and if you have money with virgin. It has wasted so much amount of my time. The worst experience I have had with customer services and just the overall product.

Customer service staff do not take notes, Do not return calls are rude and impolite. Managers do not call you back. Do not touch this company worst decision you will make.

We used Post Office at our previous place which was fair and moved our subscription to Warminster. The download speed here is acceptable though less than what we pay for.

The UPLOAD speed is HORRENDOUS. On its best days it can do as low as 2 mbps, but from time to time it drops to 0.2 mbps. This is just ridiculous.

Raising tickets is useless, Post office closes them without touching anything.

I'm truly dissatisfied because that is unacceptably slow and unstable.

DONT EVEN THINK OF SIGNING UP WITH PO BROADBAND. They are atrocious in both technical service and customer service. I echo previous poor reviews.Since I moved over from PlusNet on 15th December my broadband has been next to unusable, especially late afternoon and evenings when it cuts out completely. Nothing wrong with line or anything else because its up at 5.4 Mbs between 2am and 7am. No catch up tv over Christmas. Tech support useless. They each had their own theories and one told me to buy new master socket from Maplin and change out which I did, but unsurprisingly no change. Basically, you get the dregs of service after BT has provided for their customers. I cancelled and moved back to PlusNet but they sabotaged that by creating a phantom order and stalling the changeover. Very difficult to get in touch with customer support, they cant do anything, failed to reply to my calls and text and wont provide surname of manager. To cap it all they disconnected my phone without notice. Don't go there to save a few bob on line rental. Absolute rubbish.

Please read this before you sign up to PO broadband. I wish i'd have read reviews before i did!
we all search for the best deal however on this occasion it didnt pay off. i have called several times complaining of slow speeds and poor connections. i get an average of 0.3 - 0.6mbps
i called once in the day time (a day off) and i got 1.8mbps
technical team told me there is not a problem with my line its because i use the internet at peak times, there is nothing they can do.i have 6 months of test data with low speeds that i am trying to use to get out of my contarct.
i would pay a few pounds more and go with a reliable provider, hopefully with fiberoptic and who doesnt heavily filter during peak times.

Absolutely the worst broadband I have ever had - in line with many other reviews here, I have ha0d broadband at the same address with many providers, with consistently decent speed - UNTIL Post Office. Daily total disconnection for a few minutes at a time, unbelievably low speed (measured: 0.7Mbps).

They then wanted to charge me £30 to leave a couple of months early. The only reason this review isn't consistently 1-star is because a customer service agent was eventually able to help waive this charge - after which I was satisfied, but after two days solid of utterly atrocious speeds (websites failing to load, let alone streaming video) I decided to leave another review to warn others about this utterly terrible service, while I wait for my next router to arrive.

It just does not work as required, at all. It's like being back on dial-up. Avoid.

AVOID Post Office Broadband. Speed is non existent! Technical team need training. I was told to do a speed-check and was given the wrong web address TWICE! Tempted to terminate my contract. Waiting to find out the cost. Very disappointed and needless to say will not be renewing with this shambles.

Dreadful. You are routed through the Post Office server meaning you are not connected to any web site if they don't have the bandwidth. You are 100% monitored for every browse. A truly awful service. I will pay the termination fee to get out of this. It is THAT bad.

DISGRACEFUL! Was with PO for 18 months, BIG MISTAKE!
Broadband is horrendous, and that's when it decides to work.
Asked them 3 times to cancel direct debit after my contract ended but they still have not and are taking £33 on an initial £20 package.
I have cancelled the direct debit with my bank but they said that PO can still take it if they think there is a contract. They know there is no contract but continue to take my money. I am at my wits end with them. Do not use them, seriously!

They are probably trying to get money any way they can as they have to pay out £58million to their previous workers that they wromgly blamed.
The POST OFFICE ARE THE ROBBERS
Avoid them or pay the price-literally

I have Post Office fibre. I find it very reliable with average speed 30mb. There is an occasional drop out but infrequently and then for only a couple of minutes. Customer service is easy to contact with minimal waiting times. Professional and friendly help from agents. I highly recommend this service particularly as it is competitively priced.

Signed up after moving 7 months ago as TalkTalk who I was with refused to supply phone or broadband.
Their service is absolute rubbish, connection drop outs are common (my record being 64 in 24 hours) and the speed is never more than 2 Mbps and often under 1
Customer service is a joke - they promise to look into the problem and phone back but never do. There is a person called Giles (who may or may not exist) who I am always told is handling my problem. He has supposed to have been phoning me since 10th April. On Monday I threatened to cancel and was promised that it was 100% certain he would contact me before 5pm yesterday to tell me what was happening. I phoned at 5.05pm and cancelled - interestingly they were more than happy to cancel the early termination fee.

Rubbish that disconnects for no reason at least once very day and creeps along at no speed when connected.
