I had always suffered slow broadband even though I have tried several providers. It was always just blamed on my distance from the exchange. Post Office immediately sent an engineer to investigate and found a fault in my main telephone socket and replaced it. Bingo, the best broadband speed I have ever had. Plus when you contact their service team you are connected to a UK based team who you have no problem at all in understanding, happy days.

Well the situation with my sisters broadband is still ongoing, still the same rubbish service from this bunch of trained monkeys. Now on our 5th engineer call-out and 3rd router. download speed is 0.22 meg, and upload speed for some reason is 0.56meg, its like being back in the old dial-up days. Now just got a 3rd refund from them , I reckon they will give up before I do. They sent me to the supportal website to monitor the speeds, only problem that was not working with a 404 error. Talktalk run this service which tells you everything. Personally companies like this should be legislated out of business. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use them or Talktalk, because you will live to regret it.

I didn’t read the reviews of Post Office broadband before switching to them; if I had, I probably wouldn’t have gone with them. However, my experience hasn’t been too bad. I had to wait over 2 weeks for the service to go live but it did activate on the day it say it would. The router arrived quickly, albeit it looks cheap and doesn’t connect to wireless printers. My line has settled and I can 16ms ping, 11.5mbps download and 0.85mbps upload. The router coverage isn’t great but we manage. I did have to request a new landline number because they gave us a previous company’s number which got spammed 24/7, and this took a 20 minute conversation with somebody who struggled with English. Overall, we’ve done alright for the price but Post Office could still do a lot better.

Well when you think PO broadband service could not get any worse it did, now been been completely off for nearly 2 days. After my last complaint a BT engineer was supposed to come out, I was told they just did a line test and closed the case. Now been told another BT engineer and a "coach" are coming out to sort out the problem. got another months refund out this crap company. How on earth do companies like this stay in business. ???

If only I had read these awful reviews before I transferred my broadband and phone from BT to the PO on 12th January. I am experiencing the same as everyone else and the general service is diabolical. I cannot continue or I will have a breakdown, my nerves can't take any more after just a few weeks. I have today sent a recorded delivery letter stating that I am cancelling my DD with them and returning to BT. I am paying more than I have ever done for broadband as I have no service after more than 20ft in a bungalow, so having to keep buying more data for my mobile. 4g seems my only way of using the internet. I have to use my printer using the IP address as it won't print from devices. If the PO wish to take me to court for cancellation, they can, I don't care, I cannot put up with this dreadful service any longer. It is they who are in breach of contract as they are not providing the service that we are all paying for. I wouldn't have the PO broadband if they offered it to me free of charge. I am ready to challenge them. If you value your sanity, please avoid this company.

    Do not waste your money!
Very poor provider and you either get poor speeds or no connection at all. I have contacted the post office many times only to keep getting the same answers like do a speed check etc. but you can't do a check when there is no internet. My current speed is 0.34mbs download and 0.53mbs upload. Please avoid buying this product/service as you will be extremely disappointed.

Where do I start!? I informed Post Office of my change of address(in advance). Arrived at new property with a non-working telephone line. After, over a week talking to the tech department,I eventually found out Open Reach had been going to my old address! And that my contract had been cancelled (without informing me) and that my new line was actually disconnected. After this shambolic attempt at running a business,I told them I would be going elsewhere. Now,they won't stop contacting me!

Despite recent work on the cabling, we are getting just 0.36 mb/s download speed, much like an old modem. We used to get 11.50 mb/s or thereabouts. I have written to POBroadband support team, they quote around ten days to reply, but usually don't reply ever. They also kept escalating our costs, until the bank queried it. No refunds. Explanation was that original plan had expired, but they could not tell me that. We pay around £35 pcm for Broadband and Phone line. HELP! Please ! GJ

Post Office BB in 2019 = Appalling line, drop-outs and router disconnecting all the time. Oh and speed typically 1 Mbps (yes one!) 8 weeks to get connected, 5 BT openreach engineer visits since to fix problems and service STILL NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. If you read about Post office being highly rated, its a claptrap award!!

Avoid at all costs. Total mess up Placed an order and we were given date and waited 2 weeks for engineer and on the day no one turned up Had to phone to find out why he hadn't turned up Supervisor told me that the problem was sorted and promised we would be on line within a week. Should have been connected yesterday I have spent over 2 hours on the phone to try to get this sorted and although l had been assured by Supervisor that he would sort the problem out we have been told that l would have to start another order and have to wait nearly 3 weeks We have had 3 routers delivered

I have been with Post Office for a number of years but have to say the broadband service dreadful.
Each time I have no service I am told it is internal. The last time we had no phone for several days. The engineer called after I said I would pay the money to get it fixed.
All the sockets were opened up, the engineer was in the loft checking things out. I often wonder if these people go into their own homes with the large boots on and traipse all over the place.
Eventually, he decided it must be in the local exchange and he could be gone for quite some time. After a few hours he returned to tell me
the fault was in exchange which had been upgraded just recently and some engineer had let a piece of wire or metal drop into our connection causing the fault!!!!!!
After this time when I rang they want to get engineer to call and check the house again!!!! Why not start at the exchange where the previous fault was detected.

I am looking for another provider as Post Office is just the pits.

Whatever you do avoid these idiots. Bad service all round. I had to call an engineer four times then they tried to charge me £168 for replacing a wire which was outside my property and not my liability. To make matters worse, their phone operators don't know what they are doing and couldn't care less.

Had Broadband installed for a year. Never worked correctly since installed, keeps dropping out daily. Made between 20-30 calls to technical support to get it sorted to no avail. I was told it is normal and acceptable for broadband connection to drop out.

I eventually got fed up with the terrible service offered and asked to leave. No apology or attempt to keep me was offered by their customer retentions team. I was only told to sign up with another provider. Unbelievable!!

I have never had such poor service by any company.

I URGE ANYONE WISHING TO SWITCH PROVIDER TO KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THE POST OFFICE!!

The standard broadband has very poor speed, I have had Sky and Vodafone standard broard band these were much better, I change due to deals on offer at end of the contract. I have upgraded to Post office fiber a good price as offer is still live for standard. not sure how good it is as never had fiber before, i think it is not that fast, at 34 minutes past midnight: 22.05kbs download and 6.03 upload

It’s never the Post Office’s fault, is it ?
A few months ago my Post Office broadband service was up and down like a yo-yo. Customer Service (LOL) blamed the phone connection, my router, my wireless software, the position of my computer, the thickness of the walls, you name it. In the end it turned out to be a nationwide problem with BT servers, and was featured on the TV news. Fat lot the Post Office staff knew.
Having improved after the BT failure, the service is now dropping out on almost a daily basis for short periods, every time it rains heavily – and it’s being doing a lot of that lately. When I first reported it, the filters were blamed and I was talked into buying two new ones. I changed them – no improvement. When things got better for a short time, I put the old filters back and the service was fine – I’ve kept them in. Then I began to get static on the home phone service as well. After a month or so that disappeared, but the drop-outs continue in wet weather. If I had to rely on PO broadband, I would have abandoned it long ago.

I changed from Plus Net fibre to Post Office fibre and it was very easy with instant results. I get 30mgb with occasional drop out on Sunday mornings for a minute or two.
On the rare occasion I need help I get through to the call centre straight away. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Cannot ask for more.

I was switched to PO Broadband when Fuel gave up, costing me an extra £8 per month. When I asked another supplier if I could keep my number they could not find out. So I tried PO Customer Services and after waiting 30 mins was told that for email confirmation I would have to email the PO and wait a week, as they did not have access to email themselves! I was offered a cheaper deal if I would sign up for 18 months, but with service like that I do not want to.

I switched from BT to Post Office broadband in Jan 2018. The big switch over day was 5th Feb.18. BT switched off my services at about 10.15am. Post Office livened things up at about 16.30 so the switch isnt quite seamless. The internet was quite unstable for the first 12 hours. Mobile phones having trouble connecting etc. I reset smart plugs a number of times. Amazon echo and dot ended up having a mind of their own.!! I called Post Office and they did SOMETHING to the router and everything seemed to settle down. A week later I was still thinking that although it was all working, things were not as they should be. I sent a message to Post Office online and they called back within 24 hours. I previously used my own TP Link modem router when I was with BT. They were very friendly and talked me through the settings I needed to set my own router - log in name and password etc (not that same as the account log in) and suddenly EVERYTHING was working great. All smart devices - plugs, bulbs, phones, tablets, TVs laptops...the lot. Im now getting a slightly faster speed than when I was with BT. My conclusion is that the Post Office router just isnt very good. It works but it should be better. To be fair I didnt think much of my BT or Sky one when I was with them so I think a lot of ISPs are simply giving out 'free' modem routers that are just not as good as they should be. If you want a decent modem router, best buy your own than use the ones ISPs send out.!!

Until recently, a useable service but it has become vitually unuseable and their tech support are both clueless and useless. Every call mights as well be the first and I have wasted hours, with nothing more than frustration to show.

I understand that they have changed from BT wholesale to Talk Talk - need I say more.

I pay for a premium unlimited service yet frequently I get less than 1Mbps and during evenings and weekends, the connection repeatedly fails. Absolutely hopeless.

I have just requested MAC code to leave. AVOID like the plague.

This broadband is absolutely rubbish. You are lucky if you open up a tab and if it even loads within one minute. It cuts off around 7 times a day and when it is on, it runs like a snail. Please, please, please DO NOT buy!!!

Been with Post Office for 6 years. Until last year their service was fine. But since then it has deteriorated dramatically. Speeds are negligible - 0.2 mb/s for much of the time, sometimes even slower. Customer services often seem like a brick wall - I have the impression that their Call Centre staff are reading from a script rather than responding to what I have said.

I can't comment on the speed and reliability as I didn't get that far. Whilst ordering/switching from my current provider the Post office site crashed just after the credit check so did not complete. I was sent an email to continue and the link didn't work. When I called to complete over the phone I was told that the order had been cancelled and I would have to start again including another credit check. Apparently I had been phoned three times however no message was left so I had no idea that they had called. Very unhelpful customer service who clearly did not want to resolve my problem so I said I would leave it. As far as 'telecoms' are concerned it was a complete fail. I think the post office needs to stick to what they are good at as if that is a demonstration of their telecommunication I will stick with EE thank you very much.

    Avoid at all costs.
Constant drops in speed make streaming tv impossible. I have been in dispute with them for months but they keep giving alternative reasons for it. I will be so relieved when my contract ends. This experience was been terrible.

Looked at the reviews here after I'd ordered and feared the worst, especially after a disastrous attempt to switch to Sky nearly 2 years ago. Actually it's worked out really well so far. I am saving nearly £150 per year and I am getting the same service. Went to bed one night with old provider, woke up next morning with the Post Office, plugged in and everything has been fine. 10Mbs is what I was getting and continue to get - it's all I need so I'm happy with that.

Slow speed, I can only have one item connected to Wifi, that means I'm unable to have my mobile connected to, at the same time, big mistake in taking on the Post office Internet..
