Please please please do not go with this company unless you want a headache. Post office is good for posting and nothing else ! Honestly....the worst costumer service and the slowest broadband ever! The only reason I’m with them is because my provider Fuel gave up and sold out to the post office. I’ve inherited a nightmare. I currently have no broadband for a week now and all I get told is, they will reboot it, which they can’t seem to do. They’ll be quick to send the bill though I’m sure. Huff!

Apalling customer service! I have been without internet for 4 weeks now after changing address, have spoken to 5 different people and still haven't got my WiFi activated. Every time I contacted the customer services department, the answer they gave us was " We will call you in a week/couple of days ".

I had no idea that switching to the post office could be so bad, i thought they all gave fundamentally the same speed. I was wrong. The post office service very frequently drops down to ridiculously low speeds like 1mbps... when it goes back up to 10 or 11 its great, but its too unreliable

Broadband too unreliable for my pensioner mum to use to check her email.
Uses her mobile phone instead after finding her glasses etc as it is still faster than waiting for the off chance the DNS is working properly.

Postoffice customer service blamed it on the wifi connection (its a hardwired desktop by the rj45 plug).

I made the mistake of paying upfront for a years line rental because of the Post Office brand was something I associate with trust.

They then jacked up the prices only a few months in.

The internet doesn't work reliably enough to check emails let alone to watch bbc iplayer so called up to resolve, long wait can't leave them else they charge £180 termination fee and keep the advance line rental.

Out right lies by customer service and also said that I shouldn't cry about the price increase as its only a few pence! If its only a few pence to them, then how about the post office don't upset pensioners for the sake of a few pence, those "few pence" make a big difference to individuals (pack of custard creams from lidl is 23p, a 1min call to a landline now with post office is 25p so you can see my mums logic and hesitation to call if she sees the bill).

Even if you are a severe masochist don't sign up as it gives them more revenue to beat us non-masochists tied into the 18month contract

Dont be fooled, they might be the cheapest option around but that is simply because they provide no service whatsoever. I got grossly misinformed regarding my router go live date (on 3 occasions!!)and therefore missed a few days of work because of them! Not only that but apparently I am entitled to no compensation as in their eyes "it is not their fault if some of their employees read out the go live date wrong". On top of that my router had been sent to the wrong address at the start.
Please avoid, or you'll have yourself stuck in a 12 month contract with those idiots.

I am so glad that my 12 months contract is coming to end this month. I upgraded for a better package thinking it will benefit me but the last 12 months resulted in nothing but a poor service all- round. Now they want to push me on to paying £37pm.Definitely not . It’s time for a change I have been a Post Office home phone and broadband customer far too long and the time has come to ditch them.

Don’t ever consider the POBroadband & phone deal.
The broadband is rubbish, as slow as going back 20 years into the dark ages, the phone line with a consistant background hum.
    I cancelled after one Day!
Am back with my previous supplier: phew! What a relief!

I decided to go for the Post Office Broadband when it came to renewing my contract with Talktalk since they offered a really competitive deal.

My advise would be don't use the Post Office. The Broadband has been the worst supplier I've ever used. The internet drops several times a day and when I log a complaint to Customer Service they always say they can't find a fault and say I must have too many devices connected when when I use a single laptop whilst working.

I don't even know where to start. We previously had to upgrade as the original deal we were on was absolutely useless and so slow. We then moved house and organised to have our internet transferred over. Supposed to be an easy switch. The day it was supposed to come on and it never did. We had no internet (whilst we're all WFH) for almost two weeks. During that time, they would tell us an engineer was coming on x day, we would wait all day for them and they would never show. We would call and they would just say oh sorry, it was never guaranteed, he's coming tomorrow. That happened three times. They sent a guy who came for 5 mins and said he couldn't do anything and we would need someone else. Eventually a lovely engineer came, said that clearly the guy sent before hadn't tried even the most basic tests. He was brilliant and was the one amazing part of this. Got our internet back up and running. Then, as well as not offering a refund for the time without internet, we have now been charged for £12 worth of phonecalls despite not having a home phone (which the engineer could confirm). We told them it must have been the engineer who was testing the line and they said 'yes, we can see on our system that the calls were to our engineering department'. However, they will not remove the charges and they have told us that we need to BUY a phone to check. SO RIDICULOUS!

I know its cheap, but DONT DO IT.
Worst internet signal and costumer service in the world.
You might get good internet during the day, but it almost crushes every night.
Also, when you call to complain the costumer service members are rude and they promise you things and then they never do them. Then you call again and they say that there is no record of what the previous team member promised.
    DONT DO IT.

I paid for an upgrade but to be honest, it's no different speed at all. The biggest problem with Post Office Broadband is the customer service.
It took me 3 frustrating months to gain access to my account online, They don't send paper bills so access online is vital. Kept sending me email telling me to log on to see my bill, despite informing them numerous times that the website repeatedly informed me that my details were incorrect. Then received email informing me that they had tried to call me but I wasn't answering, while I'm house bound and sitting right next to my phone which has never rung at the times they claim. I then received a letter informing me that I could change my password by using my account number.........which I don't' have and was not included in the letter, so once again unable to access my account. Very frustrating and wasted hours and hours of my time for a simple matter of them fixing the problem. I don't think we should be forced to use online for payment, we should have the choice of paper bills so that we don't have to deal with problems with their website.

Extremely rude customer care staff. My mother was supposed to go live in the early afternoon with the landline and broadband but till 6pm there was still no connection. After calling technical support not only were they unable to do anything but not understanding and unprofessional. They even refused to put the phone down out of fear of the call going onto the survey. We have to wait till midnight to see if we get connection or have been told to call at 8am, until then we have do not even have a landline connection!

Had all sorts of delays and excuses getting service up and running, but did receive £10 compensation. I've had various isps over a number of years and this is the worst ever. Constantly losing connection to smart TV and having to reset on almost daily basis. Connecting to even basic websites can take forever. Am in process of switching prior to contract ending and anticipate claim for non-completion of contract. Will dispute in court if it comes to it.

The worst broadband provider ever I had the most expensive package which was 67mbps and on a extremely lucky day I would get 6mbps every single day there was a outage that lasted for 10 minutes or more extremely happy that I switched to ee who dont lie about their speeds they even increased the price without me knowing from 32 to 40 quid for the slowest wifi ive ever had.

I’ve had broadband for many years with many different providers and have never noticed any difference between them whatsoever - until getting Post Office broadband. It is awful: unreliable (intermittently disconnecting 10 times a month), slow (half advertised speed 10 days a month) and no customer service at all (they denied I was experiencing loss of service!).
I would never use Post Office for any service every again!

If I could give this broadband no stars I would. Definitely the worst WiFi ever. Unreliable is definitely the only way to describe it. We have had problems for months. And when we try to get it sorted the customer service team tell us sorry but that's about it. We loose WiFi every night between 8-10 and are told that that's because it's a peak time, but that shouldn't matter, oh and they are also bumping the price up to 37.99 which is a joke, we got this service because it was a bit cheaper and meant to be reliable but it is a joke of a service. If you connect too many devices (more than two) the whole thing shuts down. Do not use this service you will be ripped off

Unbelievable!!!. I made a request from the Post Office to move a line. I was informed an engineer would come between 8am-1pm. Nobody arrived nor did I receive any notification. It is now 48 hours later I have still not received any information. The Post Office is saying that they have no idea what is happening as they have not been informed by open reach of any problem. They also tell me that they can not give me any timescale when I will receive more information.

I was switched from fuel broadband to post office broadband when the buyout happened. I assumed that only the name of the provider would change but I was so wrong! Speed is up and down, never as fast or as stable as Fuel Broadband was. I was assured it was due to my area, that no one would be able to provide me better speed. Switched to BT and happy again. Do not try Post office!

I’ve been on the ADSL service since November 2018, previously was on TalkTalk (TT). I’d say the customer service is arguably some of the best I’ve seen from an ISP (admittedly quite a low bar) and much better than TT – you can usually get through to the technical support team after only a couple of minutes and they do a much better job of getting an engineer out to you (1-2 working days I found). Also, they actually record the line quality your receiving and their technical personnel can see what’s been going on, so I never had any problem proving my line had issues.

HOWEVER, that’s about the only good thing I can say about the service. In terms of line speed and reliability it was equally as awful as TT. So many engineers came and went, we had new filters, a new socket, new cable, new pairs, new equipment in the exchange.. so much so that I’ve actually developed a fairly decent knowledge of the local internet infrastructure. And if you’re thinking, that’s probably just down to issues in your house/area, consider this, you may be in a similar situation:… a few of the Openreach engineers agreed that there are blackspots for ADSL… if you live a long way from the exchange and from the cabinet then you’re very likely to have the same kind of service (i.e. generally much slower linespeed than advertised and lots of faults on the line, especially after bad weather). For comparison, we live 300m from the cabinet and 1.5km from the exchange (as the eagle flies). More copper cable means more likelihood of faults. Their advice was to switch to a fibre optic service (but even then they qualified that with, it probably won’t be a faultless experience if, like us, you live a long way from the cabinet).

Another issue with PostOffice is that they haven’t signed up for the automatic compensation scheme like BT, EE, Sky and some others. So, as a customer you will have a small fight on your hands to get your monthly bill reduced, whereas you could have received £8/day and without even needing to ask for it. So, for 3 months of lost service on POs ADSL £15.90 line, they will merely credit you with ~£48, but other providers on the scheme would automatically pay ~£720, which might go further towards actually compensating you for all the calls, inconvenience of sitting in all day at home, mobile data costs etc.

Couldn't move in for 2 weeks because the installation date was different to the one I was told on the phone when signing up. Fault on the line for the entire year's contract which was never fixed. Broadband cutting out every day for entire contract. Speed was pretty low. After hours on the phone to try to get it sorted still nothing. One customer services rep told me to repeat the exact same thing I had been told to do 8 times already, I told him it didn't work and he said "why don't you fix your own internet then?" and just argued with me instead of helping me. Had to report him, phone again to get someone else, and also take a call from his manager to ask about why I wanted to report him. Still after all that the problem wasn't fixed. I cancelled contract at earliest opportunity. After end of contract they continued to send me bills to an address I no longer lived at (rather than contact me by email as they had always done previously) asking me to keep paying. Obviously I didn't receive the letters, they didn't bother to contact me by email even though all my previous bills were sent by email, so by the time I found out about it they had started to threaten to affect my credit rating. I called them to ask why they were sending me bills, and they said I hadn't cancelled the contract (I had). They refused to accept this and kept asking for money, even though I told them the exact date and time I called to cancel should they want to go back and check the recorded call. After a long complain email they finally accepted they were wrong and stopped requesting money, I asked to make sure they hadn't affected my credit rating with this shambles but no one ever bothered to reply. Completely horrific experience, the worst I have had with any company I have ever used for anything.

Was struggling financially and at a low point when I saw this PO home phone & broadband advertised in my local branch.
Was given a ‘Go live’ date in October 2017. Day came and went. Had already received welcome pack and router, no engineer showed up to do installation. and no phone or internet service ‘went live’. Calling customer services. spoke to various personnel. ranging from politely useless to downright nasty. Eventually, long story short, ‘service’ started. They had told me that if I report a fault, and it turns out to be my equipment or home wiring ( I don’t even own my flat) then I will be liable to pay £140. I am too nervy to report the constant faults, in case they somehow manage to blame me. And the call charges are a rip off and I can’t view my bill online, even with a device that can handle the outdated adobe flash that they use. Grrr. I’m ditching this **** as soon as I can.

To anyone considering having a broadband account with Post Office, please be aware of the followings:
I would like to bring the following points to your attention:

    1. When I initially contacted one of Post office Telecom customer representative – and prior to set-up my account - I enquired about potential cancellation fees such as early termination charges occurring when entering into a contractual agreement for the provision of Premium Broadband services by Post Office Telecoms but was not made aware of any of these by their customer services representative.

    2. Referring to their Terms & Conditions, in particular section 33.2 After the service starts I have fully respected the cooling off period of 14 working days, during which I am entitled to cancel my account with Post Office Telecom Services without penalty/incurring additional charges. Despite all that, they charged me an early cancellation fee of £240.02 which is unfair.

    3. Furthermore I reminded Post Office of the existence of the Consumer Rights Directive of 2011 that obliges member states to give purchasers the right to return goods or cancel services purchased within two weeks from the receipt of the goods, for a full refund. The Consumer Rights Directive is implemented in the United Kingdom by the Consumer Contracts (information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Post Office refused to take this directive into consideration which is against a breach of the law.

    4. I would also like to highlight the fact that their Terms & Conditions do not specifically state the amount that will be charged as an early termination charge nor is the method of calculation to be used to arrive at the amount of any early termination charge. In fact, their Terms & Conditions in general, and in particular regarding early termination charges, are extremely vague and unhelpful and lack the transparency required in a contract under which penalty or additional charges are intended to be charged.

All to say, utter utter poor customer service and a total disrespect for customer rights. Avoid Post Office broadband like the plague at all cost!!!

This would be a no star review if that were possible.

The broadband speed was so slow it was practically non-existent and I have never experienced such poor customer service (for anything). Avoid at all costs.

Do not go near this supplier. My broadband should have been working since the 7th August, now 20 August. The customer service is totally useless, you are held on the phone from 25-45 and when you talk to somebody they say will phone you back . then when you demand an engineer to come out & they (engineer) get it to work for 45 mins & you contact them again, they blame BT, your computer, anything to get out of taken responsibility & then they inform you that you cannot cancel the contract as the contract started when you agree to post office computer services, not when they switch on the services

people must remember that this company is not a broadband company, it is a company working as a third party.

As I stated in Facebook & twitter and for selling stamps, but not much
    else

The worse broadband I've ever had, and very bad customer service. It actually shocked me how bad and ignorant the customer services was. Should of sticking with sky for the extra few pound.
