Absolutely terrible. Avoid at all costs!

After moving from BT where I received a constant 21Mbps, I now receive a constant 500Kbps from Origin. The customer support has wait times ranging from 40 minutes to 135 minutes and don't expect any replies for your emails.

I was with them for less than a month before moving. They can sue me if they want me to keep to their contract.

Paid in advance 18 months for 76/20Mbit speeds. Took 1 month to get the fibre broadband installed(with spending more than 5 hours on the phone with customer support) During the work day(daytime) speeds are 50/20Mbit (never seen more than 50Mbit downstream, looks like limited...) During the evenings specially friday and all weekend the speed falls to 1-2Mbit both upstream and downstram. The pings are more than 30ms what is unacceptable if you work online and you need the fast response from servers. I ordered the fibre broadband not the DSL or any other last age... And when you most need the fast and stable internet PROVIDER CAN'T PROVIDE THE SERVICES YOU PAID FOR. It works worse than Three mobile all you can eat package what is cheaper and works better and no contracts! Don't waist the time with origin, pay a bit more but get the speed and reliability you pay for...

Bitterly regret the day I signed with Origin. Unreliable broadband plus now they are taking money they don't have the right to. Seven weeks in to the contract only hope now is Ofcom complaint. They really are dreadful people.

It didn't work from the start. It took me 45 minutes to get through to Technical Help and then over the next week I spoke to various people as to why it kept cutting out. On 17th February I Was promised it would be okay in ten days. It wasn't and still isn't. Last week I took 15 minutes to get through to a man there who then put me through to a level 2 technical expert. Well in theory he did. I hung on for over 50 minutes then just gave up. I have now written to the CEO and await a reply. Pigs will fly. MY Internet still cuts out about twice an hour and one lady there had the temerity to tell me if I switched to another company I would be charged a penalty. Avoid this company like the plague. They are totally useless.

After ordering a month ago I am still without internet. There was initially a confusion with the address which was corrected (was just moving).

After their CS team sent their provisioning team an urgent email I was given an installation date the day before the move. I called about 10 minutes after being notified, and a further urgent email was sent to their provisioning team.

The openreach engineer still tried to attend. I called again and still had an issue with receiving a response from their provisioning team. Another urgent internal email I get an installation date of today (24 March). This morning I receive a call from my old property.

I called, asked to speak to the provisioning team which was refused, asked to speak to a manager and was told they would put forward a 24/48 hour call back which I refused. Asked to cancel, transferred to sales who was able to actually speak to provisioning. They were not happy with my explanation of why the engineer didn't attend the new property (different exchange so couldn't attend new property, I did ask) but did put a cancellation through. They did have the nerve to mention charges.

I won't be dealing with this company again, go to a reputable company, I won't make the mistake of trying a small one again.

I am a CCNP qualified engineer and I would say I am a very knowledgeable, patient + understanding customer trying to make Origin Broadband to work for me. But I have had enough from Origin's unreliable service.

I would say they are murdering themselves from their own sales success. They are unreliable and I am guess their I.T. infrastructure is not capable with a wave of new customers.

Therefore, I would say stay away from them. Once my contract is up then I will leave.

Transferred to Origin due to Sky price increase. Paid initial payment, waited for router and set-up. No delivery and No set up.
Repeated calls and emails solicited the issue of a "technical problem". Eventually admitted we're unable to complete on provision of service. Asked for refund went back to Sky on greatly reduced rate. Origin advised would refund monies paid immediately, still waiting 2 weeks later, no response to emails! Cannot recommend anybody signs up to Origin. Stay far, far away from them.

KEEP AWAY. My ex wife who is disabled ordered this broadband, was supposed to be live on 21st Feb. 2017, she got the router but no phone line to the house so how can it work. I got involved and was told it was an Openreach problem. despite many calls and a lot of fobbing off she still has no internet. she has however had a customer satisfaction email, that she accessed from my house about their service asking if she was please with their service. it is now 19th march and she still has no service. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE or at your own risk be it. Cant say about speed as it still doesn't work

No idea about the reliability or speed of the broadband connection as I am still waiting to get connected, I was suppose to transfer to them on 1st March 2017 it is now the 17th and so far they have sent out 2 faulty routers and promised a new order for a router had been put through a total of 7 times,if that had been the case I would be up to my armpits in routers, they promise they have put an order through, but when you phone to chase up where the router is, the order has not been processed and they promise to put the order through again, total utter rubbish, you just keep going round in circles with them, the last customer service person I spoke to today told me there was no manager there when I asked to speak to one, and this was at 3 in the afternoon, when I asked her to phone the warehouse and track my order she said they couldn't do that as they had no phone number for it, now I ask you what office runs without a manager and what business can function with no way to contact their warehouse shipping department except through an email. You can judge for yourself whether you think this person was telling the whole truth or not I know what I think. AVOID THIS COMPANY it causes nothing but grief, you have been warned, advance to a contract with this company at your own peril.

Left S k y due to price increase and joined Origin. Painless transition for me but I can see massive problem if it was for my mum. Decent download speed on the 1st day but since the 3rd day it was becoming unbearably slow (1.5-2Mb but I should get 7Mb). Collected wired-connection speedtest results from both BTWholesale and S p e e d t e s t for the entire 2 weeks, and explained it to the techSupport (FYI, wait time 40min but only talked for 8min). They then raised my usage profile and now I am getting close to 5Mb. Not quite 7Mbps but I am happy overall. Worthwhile to collect those speed results and the tech would help greatly when they have all the needed info.

Do NOT join this company! I regret the day I signed up!!!! 4 weeks after joining, and 4 phone calls to ask where the router is, it arrived. It is now 2months after I paid my set up fee and I still do not have broadband- apparently there is an issue and everyday after a 90minute phone call on hold, they say it will be 'resolved by 3pm tomorrow' which has never been the case. Poor customer service and poor techincal service. I wish I could put 0 stars!

Polite phone staff but they don't listen and will promise anything to get the call ended.

I can't recommend because for an ISP cust service is very important. Things will go wrong and Origin can't sort it out quickly.

It will cost you in time. Go elsewhere.

Tonight I have been asked to take my phone socket to but to test the line I don't think this is normal at all AVOID THEM LIKE TUE PLAGUE.

Well I tried to move to Origin but they just couldn't somehow manage it. They were able to quickly take my payment online but then it just went from good to bad. I was switching from Sky to Origin and the switch never happened. After four calls and ten plus emails to Origin they still couldn't tell me why they had not setup the transfer for same day uninterrupted broadband.
They tried to blame openreach saying they had to switch the line after install. Total lies as I have an active line and have for years. I called three days before switch was supposed to happen to ask about it and the fact no router received and they had no answers. They claim to have excellent support but they have yet to call me to refund the first payment. Avoid these guys if you want uninterrupted service

Absolutely hopeless. Avoid this company because you will just be wasting your time before having to find a different provider. I placed my order on the 17th February 2017. I phoned Origin two weeks later (not my first call) for an update and they hadn't even put my order on their system yet! I was told that it would be done that day and that I would have an installation date within 72 hours. I heard nothing so I phoned them after the 72 hours had passed and they said my order had been cancelled and I would have to go to the back of the queue and wait another 10-14 days for an installation date! For 99p a month more, I'm going to Sky.

I've been signed up to origin now for 27days and I still don't have a router! They took payment on the 6th Feb and have just fed me excuse after excuse. They can't even give me my adsl login details, I've asked twice, so I can use my own router. Completely abysmal service! (can I even use the word service? I've not received any!!!!)

I've only had it a couple of months, and apart from a small hiccup getting connected, I am very pleased, the speed is good considering the distance from the exchange and I've had no problems with reliability. Customer service was very helpful when there was a delay getting connected due to inter departmental mix ups. So far I would definitely recommend.

To be honest this is the worst internet provided I have ever come across. I change my internet provider every year to ensure I am getting the cheapest deal possible. The longest it has ever take is 7 days. Origin Broadband was a completely different ball game! It took them 2 months from me placing my order for an engineer to come out and fit my line. Not only did they not communicate anything to me, on the several occasions I chased them to find out what was happening i was told, we will contact you in the next 2 days. I was told this on 3 occasions, not once did they get back to me. I understand the delay does not solely lie with them as the engineers come from Open reach. But I can say their communication is appalling and in this day and ages it takes 2 months to get internet is really unbelievable!

From the ouset communication extremly poor. Sent date for engineer to come, rang origin told them i cannot make that date, agreed to email me with another date (also took their direct email). heard nothing for over a week. When I emailed them they told me they had changed the date but they had not and was offering date i stated i could not do. i emailed this person back stating that I cannot do and proposed other dates -heard nothing. Engineer still came and i called them. I was told that i would be charged for the engineer to come out. I sent the email trail proving this was not my fault, they told me I had to wait 7 days for a decision to be made. I waited 7 days heard nothing, kept emailing but no one bothered to contact me. I got fed up and went through debitcard disputes and got my money back. Bear in mind I gave them £360 pounds up front for a 24 month contract which they very promptly took from my account - shame they don't treat their customers the same way! I have had my problems with Ips before but even after long waits on the phone, putting up with script talking, I was at least being communicated with and things did eventually get resloved. Origin do not communicate, do not try to reslove things promptly and do not follow up!!!!

Ordered this broadband on 13th February. Today I write this on 2nd March and still have not been bee provided with an installation date. Have called on x4 occasions, been on hold for 20 minutes each time to just be fobbed off and told they will escalate my complaint...but I never hear anything. Have emailed x5 times and have received x2 responses back days after my original email. Have registered a complaint which has never been acknowledged ad have now requested a refund on x2 occasions because they have taken my money without providing me with a service. Yet to receive my refund or even a apology for the timescales they have not adhered to or their absolutely AWFUL customer service!

I signed up for Broadband only at £17.99 a month.
Paid the initial £17.99 while registering. I registered No Phone needed and was quoted £17.99.
I then heard nothing... I waited 2 weeks and got twi identical emails telling me congratulations your Broadband will be connected did/mm .... but no date .
I then contacted Origin by phone and told them I had no Router.
3 days later a router arrives. I connect it up but get no Broadband. There is a note with the router saying your phone line is ########### . I ring this number from my mobile phone and I hear that the line is connected so I hang up.
I then ring Original Broadband and report my Broadband is not connecting. After 20 minutes I'm connected to a man speaking very poor English, advising me to hack into the admin using admin as username and password.... he is very difficult to understand and after 10 minutes he asks me to hold on.... after 5 minuted of holding on, I am cut off.
The next day I ring the help line and get put through to an assistant eventually after another 20 minutes..... who asks questions about the lights on the Router box.
I say there are 2 lights showing and the ASDL light is not one of them. He tells me the Router is faulty after I check the box connections for him, and he will order a new Router for me.
The new Router does not arrive.
Again I spend 20+ minutes trying to get connected to Original customer services..... I tell them about the conversation with the man who said the Router is faulty.

Wednesday 8th Feb a new router arrives.
I connect it up and ha.ve Broadband.
..... Feb 27 I get an email from Original telling me my first bill can be accessed... I try to access the connection but it will not show me my bill.
I then ring Original Broadband customer support to tell them I can't access my bill...... 20 minutes later a man helps me and says there is a fault on the programme in some areas.
I ask him how much is my bill ?
    .......... £79.88 he says .
I question this and he says the line had to be repaired but he can see where I am overcharged by £9.99.
Again I question this and says hold the line . I ask him to ring me back on my mobile phone 07733559645 . He says ok, but never rings back.
The next day I ring Customer Services again and speak to a young man called Keenan. Keenan is very helpful and tells me I have been charged for a phone line which costs £48.00 ..... even though I asked only for Broadband connection only. I tell him this is unacceptable and I am not prepared to pay anything more than £17.99 as per my contract.
Keenan says can he ring me back later while he checks with someone.... I say Ok,
Yesterday Keenan did not ring me back 24 hrs after I last spoke to him.
I am seeing my Solicitor on Saturday and will be showing him my conversation and Contract that I agreed at £17.99 a month .....
This is not funny , I'm a 70 year old pensioner with high blood pressure and diabetes ...
GET THIS SORTED OUT NOW..... Ian Morgan

It took over a month to get the switch date sorted but I have no knowledge as to why that was. Nice slim/black sci-fi router which arrived about a week before I needed it so that was one thing I wasn't kept waiting for - so far no problems with the standard broadband or the service.

Origin have done exactly what they said they would do, exactly when they said they would do it. The customer services are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The broadband speed is better than we had with our previous provider (BT) and we have not experienced any breaks in service since we were switched over a month ago. Origin's part of the switching process was straightforward and seamless. So far, head and shoulders above BT for customer service, broadband service and value for money.

I never normally take the time to write reviews unless I have received exceptional service or an extremely poor service.

Previously, I was with Sky but because our contract expired I decided to shop around for something cheaper. Origin Broadband came up in many broadband comparison websites and I decided to give them a go - what a mistake!

Placed an order with them on 30 December 2016 and was given an activation date of 17 January 2017. On 16 January 2017, I still had not received a router so I gave them a call. I was on hold for 78 minutes when somebody finally answered. I was assured that my router had been posted today and would reach me tomorrow (in time for my activation date).

Still no router - I made constant calls to chase it. I was on hold for extremely long periods of time (90 minutes +) on some occasions. Finally, a router arrived on 02 February 2017 - they should never have bothered. I've had constant problems - the Internet keeps dropping and only works for a maximum of 30 minutes in any one day! Extremely poor.

Tried to contact Technical Support on a number of occasions (again, being on hold for long periods of time) - to cut a long story short, they did all the tests and I am now on router number 4 - still no service! I became extremely fed up so I asked to cancel - only to be told that this wasn't possible as I am in contract.

I wrote a complaint using their online web form and was told today that I can come out of contract 'fee-free'.

The reason I gave 'Customer service' two stars is because when you do manage to speak to someone, you can tell that they are trying to help. A lot of the people are new - for example, a call I made yesterday to chase my complaint lasted 36 minutes simply because the lady was new to the role and didn't have a clue what to do.

My advice is stay away - they are cheap for a reason. Because I had no Internet connection, I had to go out and buy myself a USB dongle with a mobile provider whilst I was liaising with them on cancelling.

    Avoid at all costs.

Btw, if you haven't already figured it out, this review was posted because I received an extremely poor service...

Great company and customer service, i wish I had switched broadband & phone service before after many years of sticking with BT. The whole switch was very simple and good reliable broadband. The only reason i didn't give a 5 for overall satisfaction is because the router hadn't turned up the day before the switch & I had to call them to enquire but it did then arrive the day of the switch but I felt it would have been better to have received it a little earlier. Overall very happy though.

I switched my broadband provider to Origin two months ago and so far, the experience has been good. I received the router on time, and my line got activated on the date specified. Broadband speed is good, adequate for streaming videos and accessing online media content. I did contact Origin's customer care line once and my questions were dealt with promptly. Only problem I found was the line can briefly get disconnected for a few seconds before coming back up again, mostly occurs late in the evening. But not that frequent at all. Overall, very satisfied with the service and its a good value for money too. I certainly recommend Origin broadband!!

Amazing staff but Internet often refuses to stream things.
