    Lets just say its consistent. In a negative way. Looking for a monopoly themed internet provider, who abuses its power in hull? Well KCOM is here for you. I think through this review we can all excuse my verbal attack at KCOM, as humorously they cause mental breakdowns. People rely on their internet for social prosperity, financial and emotional. Well, these three aspects have been stripped from you by KCOM. Its terrible, and this review is coming from the more financially wealthy sector of hull.

    Lets start with customer service. Theres music to drive you insane as you wait half an hour for a live call, only for the magic four magic words to come out the speakers mouth-"We'll get back to you." This is never the case. Their reply time is somewhere around 10 plus working days.

    It’s beyond me how this company has the monopoly to operate in the hull area , if Kacom is exposed to real competition they will be out of business within 12 months. Service is shocking, poor internet speed , BT internet speeds was faster 8 years ago compared to kc current internet speed. Terrible

    Waited months to finally get fibre kept saying poles in wrong place etc so finally 3 1/2 behind launch day
    We get it good for first week speed around 125 on 400 package only had 2 weeks and we are get 23 if we are lucky
    Keep s dropping and losing connection even wired in n sat next to router it’s the same
    Rung asking for explanation only to be told it’s a wireless cold spot in the house ( what my whole house )
    Even wired sat next to router come on Kcom own up n tell us it’s a scam £60 month for 5 % of what we pay for
    At least Dick Turpin wore a mask
    This should be looked at by ofcom as this highway robbery can not go on much longer

    Most terrible provider ever. Terrible customer service and the speed is a joke. Been waiting for an engineer for 2 weeks to fit a socket and he couldn't get an access to the DP box and told me that he will be able to come back next day. But when I spoke to KCOM team to explain the situation, they've booked the next appointment in another 2 weeks time!! And it's impossible to change the provider because of their contract and therefore i'm now stuck without any broadband for 4 weeks, and that's in the best case scenario because they've always seem to have some sort of one problem after another, and I can't even go to another provider. Try to avoid, it's not worth it.

    Literally the worst broadband in the country. Monopoly power should be illegal, but KCOM wouldn't want that because they know they would immediately go out of business. They overcharge for a broadband that barely gives you internet access. Everyday I have to turn the router off at least 3 times a day because the connection is that unreliable. WHEN CAN WE HAVE MORE OPTIONS FOR BROADBAND SERVICES.

    KCOM is literally the worst broadband internet in the country. My upload and download speeds are literally less than a quarter of what KCOM has marketed as the speeds in my area, and everyone has the same issue. If you call them, they'll replace your router, run checks and then tell you there's nothing they can do about it. Absolutely rubbish internet, if you can get anything else get it, sadly they have a monopoly in the region.

    KCON has to be the most useless unreliable phone company in Britain! the service you get is rubbish and its too expensive and remember this Parasite had a Monopoly in Hull for 109 years, NO GPO, BT or anyone else these ROBBERS has done this for too long! Now for KCON its too late as its Monopoly has been scraped so BT and everyone can come into Hull!     Horrendous business and the customer service is even worse. KCOM make the most simple task overwhelmingly complicated but the most traumatic experience was when I discovered they had charged me over £400.00 for a property that I moved out 6 months prior. Despite calling them and confirming in writing that I was moving out of an address, they failed to honour the cancellation and continued to bill me and take money out of my account. Businesses like KCOM prey on vulnerable customers and they get away with it because the likes of BT, Sky etc have not invested into Hull. KCOM should not exist as a business. Also an individual called Laura in accounts is abysmal at her job - she cannot answer a direct question, but worst of call, cannot explain a bill.

    Such A rubbish service. Im sick to death of terrible upload speeds and crashing internet. There is just me here so when my son is home with his mobile and his laptop, the service breaks down. I have lightstream customers behind me and the to left of me and opposite me here on Main Street yet I cannot have it until July...Absolutely disgusting. I pay a bloomin fortune for this internet, forced to as we have no other options available. KC-What is wrong with you? Your days will be numbered when other services become available so take heed, get your finger out and give your customers a decent experience

    K com wouldn’t exist in hull if we could use different providers. Their lightstrem is awful. With a rating of 2 starts on my WiFi App download speed. Honestly wouldn’t even recommend it to my dog. Awful service, stupid prices and a company build on lies

    If I could give no stars I would. Absolute joke. Have waited for them to install lightstream for three weeks now they were due to come today waited in all morning only to find a slip through the door saying they have been and they weren’t in, I can categorically tell you me and my boyfriend have been in all morning and if that engineer knocked it was the lightest knock ever. Rang KC to be told that he did come and he tried to ring me. No missed calls on my phone. Apparently he was here for ten minutes, I don’t know what he was doing for ten minutes but it was not knocking. It’s only a small house and you can hear the door from every room. The customer service advisor made a comment about the engineer saying the curtains were drawn. Yes they were because we’ve just moved in and don’t have any nets up so don’t want people looking through the window at us. So It sounds to me like he’s knocked once very lightly seen the curtains are drawn and gone. To top it all off we now have to find £120 for the pleasure of all this when we are already paying almost three times the price of competitors and wait another 2 weeks for an engineer. Absolute disgrace of a company and I will not be letting this drop.

    Poor service. I have the 'superfast' fibre broadment. It's not superfast, it's unreliable, it's overpriced and expensive. With no other providers to choose from, KCOM is a monopoly.

    I have reviewed on trust pilot.the new email layout is ok.but it takes 30 to 45 minutes to click on email messages ad it circles and circles never loads up.And also it takes the same amount of time to delete messages from the trash .I have never experienced this shocking problem ad the Internet has got shockingly very slow.I am just wasting my money and data allowance it is shocking

    After finally getting lightstream installed I though my problems of slow wify would be fixed as kcom told me it is the fastest broadband around yeah right,I am paying 50 pounds a month for slow wify we hardly use our 750gb package but they don't offer anything much cheaper I'm being ripped off month to month and can't do anything about it,its fustrating as I'd love to have choice yet there is none it's absolutely disgusting and I absolutely hate hate hate kcom with their ridiculously sky high prices and appalling customer service,my advice don't move to hull.

    Worse internet service in the uk and then No internet since Saturday, complained Sunday, and Monday each time telling me nothing is wrong. Tuesday there's 2 k.com vans out side in the street working on the junction boxes. Wednesday morning my internet is back. Funny that there's nothing wrong yet two vans arrive, and my equipment is no longer faulty. I think k.com tell lies.

    Absolutely appalling service. Customer service insists on blaming the terrible speeds on your equipment, yet as soon as they come around to fix anything faulty it starts working again for a few weeks and begins dipping again afterwards. The speed in general is an absolute joke, takes 1-3 minutes to load a basic webpage. Not reliable in the slightest, constantly dropping in and out with no real fix to the situation other than waiting for some unprofessional laughing stock to come boost your speeds for a few weeks. Would not reccommend to my worst enemy.

    Was promised a minimum speed of 4.8mbs unfortunately for me all they could give me was a top speed of 2.2mbs at best during an off peak time ie 3am on a Sunday morning at a tea time was lucky to get 1.5mbs. So if I wanted to play on my ps4 online or watch Netflix everyone had to disconnect phones and stuff. Well worth the £55 a month I was paying. When I complained they did nothing simply saying it was showing over 5mbs at there end. Sorry but no. My mobile phone gets 16-20mb

    Cant believe I have to give them one star. That's far to high a rating for this appalling company. They first sent me a letter telling me I was eligible for their lightstream service nearly four months ago and I still dont have it. I've sat in all day waiting for call backs that never happened. Waited three weeks just to book an appointment for an engineer and when one finally came, he told me that they'd used the wrong pole outside and I'd have to wait for the connection to the correct pole to be planned and approved before I could be connected to it. Even if I do eventually get connected, the service and price is hardly competitive compared to other providers I'm unable to access because of kcoms monopoly.

    It's not possible to give minus stars or I would! Kcom is the worst broadband provider I have EVER had to use! £65 month, 5-10 mbps download and 0.2 upload!! plus constant disconnections of around 10-40 A DAY for the last year! Tech help told us we need lightstream to cure problem, next door neighbor has it, but Kcom sales won't let us have it!!
    Three 4g unlimited data sim £24 month 35-60mbps download and up to 20mbps upload speed coming to village shortly.....If KCOM don't fix it soon we WILL be leaving!!!

    I rent a flat in Hull during the week but live in a big City the rest of the time. There I get the choice of Virgin fibre (have the 200mb link and actually get about 203mb) or BT. With BT you get the choice of Sky, EE, TalkTalk and so on. In Hull you get the choice of KC and take it or leave it... I pay about the same at home for uncapped fibre as I do for ADSL capped in Hull. Now I have been without broadband for over a week as I have a Zyxcel router. Oh the joys of waiting in a contact centre queue. KC you seriously need competition...

    Just the worst, most overpriced service from a company I have ever had to deal with, and in the rural Hull area we have no other choice! a staggering £50 a month JUST for phone and broadband!!.... The equivalent Talk talk package is £20!

    Never have I ever been treat so poorly from a company which I'm paying out the nose for them to treat me like a fool it's 11pm and I'm receiving 2mbs download... not even 1md upload. To be told just use a wired connection.... like I live it the 90s for crying out loud... I'd say do not use but that's hard when they hold the city to ransom. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

    We recently moved houses, and trying to organise a move through KCOM has been the single worst experience with any ISP I’ve ever come across. Don’t even get me started on their monopolisation of the fibre network in East Riding.

    Let me start off by prefacing that we work from home, so we need internet for our livelihood.

    First we were told that the dig/pre-build could only be scheduled for a few days after we moved in (this is fair enough as I realise it’s a busy time of year) but our internal install could only be completed two weeks after that.

    We weren’t off to a great start but we understood that, again, it’s a busy season. So we waited those couple of weeks, which was yesterday. The internal engineers came and were perfectly lovely but we were told that the first set of engineers didn’t finish the job properly and didn’t connect the fibre lines from the end of the street so we wouldn’t have internet.

    Not once did the outside engineers mention this - in fact when I went to check on them to see if they still needed me, they said that was all that was left to be done and then they’d be on their way.

    So to find out now this has not been done is rather irritating. But it gets worse! We called customer service - no accountability for the mess-up on their part. Lots of apologies for the inconvenience of not yet having internet but nothing apologising for the fault of not completing the job properly which is crazy if you think about it. Then we get told the fix to this mess up (which is apparently no longer than an hour’s job) will take up to TWO MONTHS.

    The customer service department apparently has no form of contacting the engineering or booking department, which is understandable, but the lack of help or accountability in the customer service department is insane. Lots of “unfortunately” and “we will write it in your notes” but nothing to actually help fix this mistake. We were told that we would receive a call back that day advising an update but nothing was received and we’ve had to chase up today. Again, lots of apologies for no updates, but nothing apologising for the fault at their part!

    It’s not our fault we don’t have internet. We waited the allotted times and it’s not unreasonable to expect to have internet now. We have had to drive over 30 minutes to our in-laws to work from them, and this is costing us a lot of money in petrol. Their response to this is that they will write that in our notes.

    And to top it all off, my husband was on the phone with a Tumi yesterday. He said he would like to wait on the phone with her until she got an update as we are desperate. She heaved a heavy sigh and just hung up on him. I understand this is not entirely a customer service fault, but their responses to our situation have been awful.

    Everyone should go through some re-training. Especially on your communication side, because if the outside engineers had just told us in the first place that the job was not completed and had to be rescheduled, then our expectations would’ve been adjusted and all this could’ve been avoided.

    I will end this off by mentioning that we were still charged for our internet this month, and when mentioning to KCOM that if they can’t provide us with internet, then we would like to cancel our contract, they then said that we had to pay the rest of the contract out. I’m sorry but last I checked, they’re in breach of their contract by not providing us with a service?

    TL;DR - DO NOT go with KCOM. Absolutely horrific service and lack of accountability at their faults with no resolution in sight.
