Anyone working at John Lewis Broadbabd should be ashamed for letting their colleagues and employers rip off the public. I have paid for a service they have not supplied, they can not give a date if and when they might supply broadband, the Provisions Team investigate the complaints against themselves and they refuse to escalate and issues. Simply put John Lewis broadband is the worst on the market.Total scam artists. Avoid like the plague.

Bizarre. Serious connectivity problems on first day of going over to them. Couldn't fulfil ALL the security questions to investigate the problem, so they refused to proceed!!! Couldn't cancel...because I can't answer ALL the security questions! Infuriating - and there's no email address to try and get round the system - John Lewis Broadband doesn't have an email address!!! Even John Lewis customer services couldn't contact them. Next stop, Ofcom. Truly, truly bizarre. But then, it is run by PlusNet, so that explains it.

Worse broadband I have ever had. When I joined John Lewis broadband I upgraded to fibre optic thinking this would make it quicker but it was slower than I've had for years and the service was intermittent (daily crashes). I would have called for technical support but was advised I have to go through a long complicated process trying to get it fixed myself before calling - I'm not too bad with technical things but I couldn't follow the directions. I have now moved to BT and have fast reliable broadband but John Lewis keep sending me bills! Only on leaving did I find out that John Lewis broadband is Plusnet. I would recommend avoiding at all cost - unless you don't actually need working broadband and you're happy to continue being billed after you leave them!

1 star is too generous. Please heed my warning, and do not use John Lewis Broadband. Do not be seduced by their offer of a gift voucher. It is not worth it. I transferred my service from Sky to them on 4th March. I was due to go over to them on Monday 18th. In this time the only communication I had was from Sky to say they were aware I was leaving them. Nothing from John Lewis and no router, so today (16th) I called them, only to be told that the request to transfer the line hadn't gone through properly. Apparently this was not their fault, it was Open Reaches fault and they were going to complain themselves. I was told he would email me to advise what was happening and try and get this pushed through for 18th, and to put my feet up and have a tea. Cocky idiot. I got his response on email and it was woefully insufficient. They were now blaming Sky - 'Sky hadn't received our order until a later date...' (??) 'so they rejected our request to keep the number. I've spoke to number ports and they've raised a manual order to get the services live on the 25th instead'. It also said underneath that my query was on hold till Wednesday 20th, so he was OK with leaving my high and dry till then? No thanks. They are a total shambles. They don't accept any accountability for THEIR mistakes, and there was at no point an apology from this person or from anyone I spoke to on the phone when I called to cancel the request altogether. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS. Their line for customers opting to leave them was red hot. I was on hold for 40 minutes. No wonder. Go with a reputable provider and don't waste your whole Saturday like I have had to do to deal with these jokers. I'm staying with Sky - I was only moving away from them to get a cheaper deal which they have now given me.

Signed up last week and have now cancelled as poor communication. Phone operatives are rude - when you can get through on phone! They just don't have the capacity to offer a good customer service. Do not think John Lewis aligning themselves with Plusnet was a great move - certainly do not have same values.

Unbelievably awful. We were due to move house TODAY and now have to stay put for another month, costing us thousands, because this dreadful company cannot have our broadband set up in our new home, despite having PROMISED to do so. My daughter has important exams and needs the internet during revision. We will now be moving house right in the middle of her exams. Their 'customer service' is just a load of platitudes. Why is an otherwise reputable brand destroying itself like this? Won't be buying from John Lewis, Waitrose etc. from now on. Avoid avoid avoid.....

Don't touch John Lewis broadband!!! This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Shocking customer service including mis-selling me fibre which is not available in my area. They failed to inform me of this fact and only when I called back to find out why I had no wifi was I notified that I was not able to get fibre. I then down-graded to ADSL and was told that it would be active in 3-5 working days. A week later no wifi!!! Once again I called and was told that the fibre had yet to be cancelled and they couldn't install ADSL until the fibre order had been cancelled and that could take another 10 working days.
Apart from the above, every time you try to contact them you have to endure 30 minutes of torture listening to the elevator music while waiting for an agent to take the call. Hire more people John Lewis - it's not rocket science!!!
I cancelled my account on 28th October and today 5th November I was billed for the fibre I never received. Unbelievable. Am at a total loss.... I lived in third world Africa for many years and never did I ever experience such incompetence or disgusting customer service as I received from John Lewis. A total disgrace. If I could have selected minus 5 stars I would've. Don't even consider this incompetent company. They should stick to selling clothes and leave broadband to companies who know what they are talking about.

Chronic service signed contract end of Nov for £20 a month for a year . Service stared 10th dec first bill £22 (they put it up £2 a month before my line even started. Have had to ring customer service every month since as bill wrong every time. Staff seem bored and uninterested. John Lewis should be embarrassed to be associated with their provider.

Terrible experience, terrible customer service and employs criminals, only been with them 2 months, tried to take dd out week early and got declined, they restricted my account immediately, could not even get on their own website to make a payment or sort out, rang them up several times but after 20 mins on hold but finally got through, paid over the phone remotely with debit card, told service would be back to normal within couple hrs..... week later still restricted service but least of my issues, knew something was off when agent asked for my card details twice .... I was right, checked account and he had taken 2 payments....got worse, next day contacted by my bank as my details had been used to make several purchases in Eastern Europe .... I had been hacked and this was first time in a very long time I had given my details over phone ....he had obviously sold my details to a criminal gang.... and this is John Lewis !!!!! Now waiting for a new card and for all fraudulent activity to be reversed, I am not rich person and this has left me in dire straits but JL broadband not interested, won’t even answer my many emails, still restricted service, made a complaint to ofcom and reported to police , I came to this company because I trusted John Lewis but this is not John Lewis it is plusnet and I cannot wait to get away from such a terrible company, BEWARE, CORRUPT AND FRAUDULENT COMPANY

On moving house we decided to move to John Lewis Broadband. When we called we were advised of a 2 week lead time. We booked on-line and were given 3 possible installation dates. Chose one then heard nothing. Time was critical because I can only work from home if I have broadband and I have a very young child. Had we been advised of the real lead time, we would have found a different supplier. I called the week before the chosen date and the original date was confirmed on the phone with a time slot. Took my last day of leave off to be at home. On the afternoon of the installation i got an email giving a date of installation a week later. My husband had to take a day off unpaid to be in. When I complained I was advised that they had not confirmed the date by email. I explained this had been done verbally. Yesterday the Installation went ahead fine. Today the broadband doesn't work at all. Each time i have called I have had to wait approx half an hour for an answer. We used them because John Lewis have such a great reputation for customer service but our experience has been appalling. I regret having anything to do with them.

Unable to rate either Broadband speed or reliability as, one month on, John Lewis have yet to connect me.

They do not answer calls, they do not answer email. They do not respond. They have taken my money and provided no service.

In my book this is called fraud. John Lewis should be prosecuted and held to account.

When I see their Christmas advertising and hear how much it has cost it makes me feel sick. They ought to be ashamed.

Just horrendous! Constantly dropping connection - drops out roughly 8 to 15 times per day and is dropped for about 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Have tried calling customer service but there is NOONE THERE!! Phone just goes to hold then eventually times out and drops the call. They are of course still collecting payments so their billing system is obviously working fine. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM.

Terrible broadband, keeps disconnecting (like 6 times in the past 4 hours)

Customer services is awful. Phone answered after waiting between 15 to 40 mins each time. I've called them about 7 times in past three days.

Still being told I have to wait for another 72 hours before they will send out an engineer. So that will be about 6 days without useable broadband.

But hey, they will apparently discount my bill for those 6 days!

It isn't even possible to rate John Lewis as low as what I feel fit currently, because I never actually received any broadband. Virtually NOTHING. Activation was to go live the day I was due to move into my new place, router arrived and never activated. Rang to discuss, they said there was an issue with the supplier and told me to try again tomorrow as it could still go live up until 12am. Delayed my move, cost me more money. Next day still not working. My overall move in delay was over 2 weeks. I had no 4G in the property which meant I 1) couldn't move in, 2) work from home. This cost me copious amounts of money including over £400 in rent of a property I couldn't even move in to. Whilst paying them for a service they couldn't even provide me!! The excuse was the order was "stuck". Same excuse from every person I spoke to, nobody could do anything. I cancelled order after 2 weeks totally furious. They cheekily didn't refund me the full amount owed either. Nor did they once offer me compensation for the massive inconvenience they caused me. Not only did this cost me financially, and using up my annual leave with work, it also caused me copious amounts of stress spending hours upon hours chasing for a truthful answer everyday, and driving to the property to keep checking. I would NEVER EVER use John Lewis again for any service after this. They have absolutely no control with their suppliers and their protocol now ensures it's almost impossible to get anything resolved through their many departments and data protection. I'd strongly emphasise avoiding, especially if Northern Ireland customer like myself where this will be set up through Openreach. Both companies are an absolute shambles trying to provide this service!

Only give it 1 star as I couldn’t give any less. Moved house and had to change supplier to get fast broadband, what a joke. Telephone line connected immediately which is required for internet connection. Almost 3 weeks have passed with various messages being sent back and forwards and I am still waiting. After a stressful house move this is not acceptable. I have used John Lewis services for years and had excellent customer service, what has happened! Will change as soon as I can.

Shocking! I signed up for this believing I could trust the good name of John Lewis for customer service. Howeber they've missed the first and second installation dates and have not made any contact about this despite my request that they do via their service ticket system. So for a third time in a month I'm on an hour long hold on their phone line (which in itself is dreadful, you get to hear the same few tracks on repeat). I actually feel sorry for their customer service team who must face constant anger and frustration from customers as the service is so poor (and in my case so far non existent!). Never again.

    ABYSMAL. ABOID !!!!

Join on the reputation of John Lewis, but regretting it big time.

Live date was 18th August 2017. Got a confirmation email from them on the day saying that everything is live. Phone line and broadband disconnected by the previous ISP as per contract, but John Lewis has not liven up the services until the following day.

Broadband speed is just barely above dial up and no outgoing call barred, not what I asked for as the phone line is also used for a Life Line. Reported to Tech Support. 3 days later received a missed call, then an email saying that they have performed a Line Check and find no fault so closed the fault.

I reopened the fault and told them the issues are slow broadband speed and outgoing call still is barred. They did another Line check, (yeah you guessed it) no fault found. I was at pain pointing out to them that was nOt the case. Emails flying back and forth. Eventually, two weeks later they agreed that there is a fault and want to send out an Bt Open Zone Engineer but there is going to be a charge if he can't get in or if the fault is within the boundary of my property. No problem I agreed to that as I had no problems with my phone line or broadband with previous ISP (the only thing different is their router being plugged in). Tried to explained to their Tech Support that the cabling will not cause outgoing bar. It's either the line had not been migrated over correctly or more than likely that Class of Service is not set up correctly. They would not have it. I was not going to lose half day pay for a guy turn up to confirm to me what I already know, so I told them that if the engineer did not turn up or the fault is not within my property then I'll counter charge them (only fair). They keep banging on that's not how it works, err yeah, your cock up and now you want me, your Customer to pay for your mistake!

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Please believe the poor reviews you read here. I have never before left a review but this one needed doing. Two days before I was due to move over to John Lewis I still hadn't received a modem so I rang them. Without boring you with all the details, they had cancelled my broadband with BT, but then found they could not supply me wit internet. Never bothered to tell me this, never bothered to cancel their contract with BT and have left me with no internet and no provider. If you choose to ignore all the poor reviews you may like me deeply regret it.

Ordered the service, then needed to contact to ask questions. Support atrocious (we don't think email is reliable so we use issues log).
Cancelled the service (with their 'log') on 26th April, still being bothered into May. Complained 4 May, received even more sms's, emails and finally a message saying they have sent the router on 9th May.

    HOW USELESS? VERY USELESS

    Absolutely disgusting service.
The word service should not be able to be used by some companies, this being one of them. They go through the same call centre rubbish as many more.
The bottom line, they are liars and cheats.
    I am contracted to receive a speed of 35mb +/- 1mb therefore minimum 34mb
After 6 months of complaining and being told it was my system I was eventually advised that there was a block on my line which had not been removed by BT.
2 months later, I am still getting 23-25mb. At each engineers visit they advised before they left that they were getting 40mb...LIARS
One more engineer visit and they then advise that the line is NOT capable of providing 34mb.
I have asked that my payments today are returned in full and that if they wish to keep my business they offer a new rate. I believe this is more than fair considering the trouble I have had, getting ANYONE to contact you is impossible...
STAY AWAY!!! This is a poor Plus Net service managed by incompetent people/systems

Never choose John Lewis Broadband!!! It’s TERRIBLE. So bad that I had to go out and buy a sim with data so I could function day to day. The internet continually cuts out, phone crackles and tv reception stinks. Smarmy verbiage from customer support but it all adds up to nothing. I was told upgrading to optic would improve reception but this was a complete LIE and tantamount to mis-selling. Then to add insult to injury, I was only offered a £29 refund for MONTHS of rubbish internet plus mega annoyance and time wasting. This sum didn’t cover the extra expense I incurred buying data and sim from another provided while I unsuccessfully tried to get my JL broadband sorted.
I used to love John Lewis. Now I hate them.

Terrible - avoid. The connection has been consistently poor. Often disconnects for no reason, Skype calls a nightmare. Upload speed virtually non existent. Switched to quality fibre provider now and the difference is astounding. Customer service poor - JL claim they never received our order to change suppliers despite BT engineer coming out to switch on new provider. We are effectively paying 2 suppliers for 2 months and despite repeated phone calls I cannot get this resolved unless I pay an additional £25 disconnection fee! Surprised that the John Lewis brand has such poor customer service.

We have never been so disappointed in a utility company. JL BB offered us a BB package which they were unable to supply. I have been attempting to deal with this matter for weeks and today I finally realised they are willing to lie and cannot be trusted. Formal complaint made.

Telephoned JL to extend my 12 m contract which was expiring. Turns out that last year when I had been advised that the account had been transferred into my name, this had not been done. This has caused immense problems. Tried to open a new account, PLus net who run JL managed to omit vital information, got my address wrong, contacted a neighbour who has committed criminal offences, got my name wrong and their attitude after having made all these issues was poor. After making all these errors they have threatened debt collectors on the old account which is not in my name. I will be closing my JL partnershipcard account and never using JL insurance again!!

Initially when I took on this supplier all was well - the speed was acceptable and service reliable. However in the last 2-3 months the company has disappeared and does not reply. Instead it has instead doubled its charges well outside the acceptable levels. The service remains the same. If you need good reliable service at reasonable price the avoid this provider. It is not even operated by John Lewis but masquerades as John Lewis.

I have ordered the broadband in June. 2 months later, with a response time of 2 weeks on average they still don't know when I could expect to receive it.
Thus far they have missed 4 of their "deadlines"

Lousy broadband - very poor signal, appalling customer service. If I were John Lewis I would stop putting my name to this. Because I was out of contract when i asked to move house they said they'd charge me £65 or else I could choose to be locked in to another contract with them - heads they win, tails I lose. I don't want to be with a company that treats me like this. Please avoid at all costs if you value your sanity.

Absolutely useless. Thought I was signing up to a company with a good customer service. Instead its Plusnet with a different name but with all of their dreadful service. They care nothing about the customer, do everything wrong (eg try to sign me up a week before I move, connect to the wrong property and so on). Plusnet, TalkTalk and John Lewis Broadband are all terrible: pick one of the smaller suppliers if possible (sadly they don't cover this location).

I signed up for this after reading a very positive Which review. How stupid. If I could give it 0 stars I would. It is quite the worse connection, drops out continually and is so weak - we have neighbours two whole houses down the road whose broadband has more bars than ours! And FORGET trying to speak to anyone at their customer service... you will be sitting on the end of the phone for hours. Rubbish! And we're tied in for another 11 months!!!
