EE WIFI reminds me of old Dial up connection. Extremely slow, unreliable often can be waiting for web pages like Google to load not uncommon for wifi to lose its connection and need reconnect few times an hour.

I too was tempted by the cost of the EE ‘Slowband’ package, and, as the old saying goes…”if it sounds too good to be true…”

Previously I was with Telewest/Virgin for 10 years, overall the server from them was good but their ever increasing costs and 500 channels of nothing convinced me it was time for a change. £2.50 a month and £140 cashback, what could go wrong… I thought.

All started off well, the order went through and the cashback was registered. The line was activated on time and the router arrived in readiness. Day 1, all worked fine, the line speed was forecast to be 4-8mb but I ended up with 14mb, bonus!

3 weeks in the true EE slowband service appeared, phoned Tech Supp (oh how I laughed) and there was a problem on the line, passed to another dept who would look into the fault and call me back. 2 days later, still no slow band and no call back. I call again, we believe there’s a problem with your line we’ll need to send an engineer….in 10 days! The engineer turns up, nice chap he was, he just gave me a wry smile when I mentioned EE. No fault in the house must be at the exchange and passes the fault to BT. Magically within 48 hours all is well again.

Over the subsequent weeks the sloooooooooooowband was in full force to the point of being unusable as many have reported. So, yet another call to “Tech Support”, same old shenanigans but they do agree to send an engineer out. He arrived, checks the cables and logs onto the router…”Aha! there’s your problem sir, the noise levels are too high, they should have checked that and can reset it over the phone”. He does so and bingo bango we’re back to ~12mb.

Roll on Decembers bill, have a charge for an engineers visit! Not on your effing nelly EE! It took 6 calls over nearly 3 hours to get the charge removed and then it was a gesture of “Good Will”

Honestly, if you’re thinking of moving to EE, don’t. It just isn’t worth the hassle.

As the saying goes….if it sounds too good to be true….

I signed up for EE homebroadband on the 6th of September (promised to reveive it within 10 days, I received the router on the 28th of September. A few days later yet another of the same router arrived. I believe the speed is the worst that I have come across. It is a joke. EE in affinity with Orange are yet again tricking people on signing for contracts that deliver pure rubbish. EE is a new package around something very bad and totally shambolic Orange company and customer service. Why do you think they totally changed name? Because Orange lost all market confidence. It is a shame that there is no protection for consumers to get quality services.

i cannot give this broadband provider any stars at all as i have no satisfaction, no customer service, no speed and no reliability

it took 30+ seconds to load the page i write this on, what was once a 'reasonable' connection, not fast but good enough, is now so bad i am forced to change. as luck would have it my contract with ee is up so going is cost free. i have gone the customer service route waiting for return calls that never happen, speaking to offshore call centers with all that that entails. enough is enough.

sign up with this lot if you want but you have been warned

Switched over from very reliable Sky ISDN, because of the 10GB mobile data offer. Took over 2 weeks to settle down - constant dropouts/speed issues etc. Infuriating, compared to top providers. But a month on, the speed is constantly 20 mbps (advertised as 13),and the router/modem seems to have a better range than the cheapo Sky box. Seems a good bargain for £21 (so far). Haven't had to talk to customer support, as yet.

EE is even not eligible for 1 star. EE took over orange and destroyed the whole image of orange in my eyes. I am with orange from last 7 years. I moved home and waited for 30 days still not broadband, they booked the engineer and gave me the appointment, no engineer on the appointment day, nobody contacted me. I contacted back to EE, they advised their experts working on it and will contact me in 48 hours, No response after 3 days. I phoned them again another advisor said it will take 10 working days for experts to resolve, After 10 days no response. I phoned back after spending 30 minutes over the phone they advised a manager will phone me back within 48 hours. No manager call after 3 days wait. Now they gave me another engineer appointment after 3 weeks. 49 days wait for a home move. Now opinion is yours, please don't ever join EE. Thanks

Completely appalling - DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR SERVICES
We signed up for the EE Broadband in November 2012, and have NEVER had the service. For the first couple of months customer services kept telling us it was due to a 'tag on the line'. I couldn't get a decent explanation of what this actually was, but kept being assured that it would be sorted in "the next few days". Every time we rang we were on hold for at least 15 minutes before anyone answered, even at 10 o'clock at night. Eventually I spoke to someone in the technical team, who was very apologetic and gave us Feb and March free (as we had been charged for December and January but obviously had not received any service). We were told that the broadband would be working within 7 days. It never happened. Several times we rang to try and sort but after 10 minutes on hold each time we got too frustrated and gave up. We did have a courtesy call at one point, where my partner expressed his frustration at never having had any sort of service - we were told the tag had been taken off and the service should now be working, they would call us back tomorrow after looking into it. Obviously this never happened.
In the end we decided to just let the contract run out (rather than paying cancellation fees and banging our heads against brick walls trying to speak to someone in the evening). However, after our 12 months was up and we thought we were free, we received an email from them a month or so later notifying us of changes to our service - they had re-signed us up!!!!!
Today my partner cancelled all payments to them and spoke to someone in customer services who told him we would have to pay cancellation fees..!
An absolutely awful experience from start to finish, it's a shame I couldn't select 0 stars on this review instead of 1.

Not even one star, false advertising in that bright box router is letterbox friendly. I have to wait in for a

Router, operations manager disappeared into thin air. EE should be ashamed. Do not go with them

I have nothing good to say about this company. They are complete money grabbers stay well clear. The apps and website is continually faulty . Overpriced for very poor service . They are disloyal to their loyal customers , since I've been with them twice they screwed me over and put me out of pocket unnecessarily . Their duty of care to their customers is poor. And I look forward to the day my contract ends with them .

I recently joined EE broadband and that was my biggest mistake i ever made. My line didn't go live when it was meant to. I had to keep ringing them. Every time i have rang them customer service has been very poor and it has taken average of 40 mins to get through a customer service. I thought Talktalk was bad but EE are even worse then Talktalk. Wouldn't advise anyone to join them. I am very disappointed with the service

Constant issues with speed and quality through contract. Trying to get through to customer service is like pulling teeth. The speed never came near what was advertised and we had very few weekends where we weren't throttled, again - not what was advertised. Avoid.

We changed from BT as they offered the same speed for a much lower price. We are supposed to be getting 35 Mb/s however from speed tests done at various times I struggle to get 5 ... most getting 2-3. EE themselves have tested it and got 6 ... at 11am on a weekday. They have sent two engineers, neither of whom know how to fix the problem and have said it's probably because the cable has broken a few times so they have made new connections and each connection reduces the speed. So why weren't we told this before hand?? Why are we paying for 30+ and not even getting 5! I can't play any xbox games online as it is sooo lagging. I can't watch a 30s video without it buffering 10 times. EE have royally f****d us over.

Do not use this Scam Company. What they promise in download speed is lies. When you complain they promise this, that and the other....all lies. The contract is lies with a price increase mid way through. Broadband speed at the weekend is around 1.4Mbps!! That's impossible to use! No customer service. No interest. No quality. Do Not Go Near This Company. EE you suck!

Nice connection when it works, customer service was nice, but I am getting a bubbling feeling of hate in my chest because of the sheer choppiness and unreliability of the connection. I'm trying to play online competitive games, and my ping goes from a decent 30-50ms to 3000ms at the drop of a hat. I can have a 3mb download speed the one second (rare, though - averages at around 1mb), and 50kb the next. Customer service did the best they could, but said that they can't help with ping because they don't look at or care about that.

So frustrated. As soon as my contract expires I'm choosing a new ISP. The annoyance of playing a close game and then being booted out because of your service provider is driving me through the roof.

In Mid December after changing my mobile phone contract I was persuaded to sign up to EE Broadband and Home Phone. It was arranged that the EE Broadband and Home phone line to go live 4th January and that my router would get to me within 10 days (around late December). I was told an engineer would visit the property between 1pm - 6pm. I took the afternoon off work to wait in. No one came. I rang up customer service who advised that this had been done without having to enter my home and that everything was in working order. I had wasted 1/2 day holiday. Whilst on the phone I also advised that I was still waiting for my router to arrive. I was told another one would be sent out straight away and would take around 3 working days to arrive.
After a few days I was still without router so on the 7th Jan rang up again. This time the lady I spoke to advised me that no router had been sent out as the order for it had not been completed. I was extremely annoyed to say the least but I was reassured that this time it would definitely be sent out and with me within 3-4 working days.
7 days later still no sign of the router so I rang up AGAIN on the 15th. This time I spoke to a gentleman who advised me that the reason my first two routers had not been delivered was because my broadband was not live?!!!! Apparently my order had been cancelled?? No reasons why and the two previous calls to customer services on the 5th and 7th had not spotted even spotted the issue! I was now advised I would have to wait till the 25th Jan before I would be connected. I was thankful though that at last I had spoken to someone helpful. He advised that he would put a third order on for a router as 3 turning up would be better than none at this point, and I could send back the others. He advised I would receive my router(s) within 3 days of going live.
I had a message on Monday the 25th confirming I was live, finally things were looking up! Then it got to Thursday 28th and still no sign of any of the routers. Livid I rang up for a fourth time asking for an update and got a half arsed story about it being delivered and signed for at my address on the 20th Jan (I thought these routers are postbox friendly so just get posted through the letter box anyway??). I was at work all day anyway so couldn't have signed for anything!!! When asked if they could retrieve a proof of delivery from the courier it was as if I was speaking alien! I also question why this would have been delivered on the 20th when my broadband only went live on the 25th??? I think your staff may be spinning me a pathetic lie there!! So the lady I spoke to last night has ordered yet another router for me ( 4th time lucky?) and I have had a dispatch confirmation text (which I haven't had previously). I await its arrival with anticipation.
I am absolutely incensed by the whole experience, from the incompetence of your call centre staff, to your complete and utter lack of customer commitment. Not one person other the gentleman I spoke to on the 15th was at all bothered about my situation. I am afraid to say I would not recommend EE broadband to anyone! I have been without internet for a month having ordered in back in December, this is a disgrace. I often work from home and I am currently study for exams which I have not been able to do. I also pay fees to the likes of Netflix and Xbox live none of which I have been able to use. I am happy to post this story to your Facebook page or go to the press if we do not reach an agreed compensation.
**This is the message I have sent them!!**

Shocking customer service! I thought that "have you tried switching it on etc......" was only said on The It Crowd! The bb speed is awful and keeps dropping out. My landline went down and they said that they couldn't check why as their systems were down. Funnily, after threatening to move provider, my landline magically started working. Broadband still down, however. Now can't get through due to high customer demand. It must be a fault at their end!

TerriIble service all round. Fobbed off by customer services when you can finally get through to someone, usual hold time about an hour. Billed incorrectly and despite being assured before I agreed to switch that my broadband changeover would happen within hours I ended up being without broadband for 11 days. Would not recommend.

So low at times you can't watch a movie, the circle goes round and, and the picture is frozen. This is costing me now about £28 a month. I'm in a contract so powerless. The spellchecker says I'm 95% slower than other providers in the area. I can't stand the hassle from this provider. Never again.

I am frustrated and felt cheated with the kind of service EE provides.

I moved house and broadband connection in the new house is couple of weeks away. So I went to EE to get a monthly broadband and told them I need it for a 2 weeks only. The minimum plan they had was for 1 month which I opted for and told them I don;'t need this to be active beyond 1 month.

The sales representative told me that I can call customer care to cancel my connection post my first payment is deducted, which would be after 14 days of my connection activation. I did the same thing but now the customer care is saying I have to pay for another month as they would need atleast 30 days notice as per T&Cs. Also they have a cancellation fees of 8.99.

All these were not mentioned to me by their sales representation when I went to discuss the option in the store. I mean who reads 4 pager T&Cs in the store before signing the document. It should be the sales representative's responsibilty to make customer aware of cancellation process and fees, which clearly wasn't done in this case.

Please avoid them as they are bunch of cheaters sitting their and making fool of customers.

Buyer beware. This oversold service is so throttled outside core business hours to be useless for the consumer. A guaranteed 30 Mbps connection cannot, for most of the evening deliver more than 0.2 Mbps. Customer service has a script that dates from the early millennium referring to a cabled interface not provided in modern equipment. Avoid. Like the plague. Look elsewhere.

EE Broadband is about as bad as it gets! Snail pace speed makes it pretty unusable. Service Dept is inept and useless and also disinterested. This download speed is hopeless and not what I was promised!!! When this contract is up I will never use EE again!!!! It deserves NO STARS!

Do not under any circumstances get broadband with EE.

It has been an absolute disaster from start to finish. They have left us without any service for two months. The order has been ''cancelled' twice without my knowledge.

Customer service is hit and miss. More often than not you will get someone who has no idea what is going on, the others will make you promises the company can not keep.

Avoid please, do yourself a favour and go with anyone else.

EE are absolutely useless. Only one person can use a mobile/tablet, can't use a tablet and Netflix at the same time. Constant very, very slow internet, on a speed test the upload speed doesn't even register. I have phoned customer services several times and although they are polite and helpful nothing changes regarding the non existent speeds. Definitely wouldn't recommend going with EE

NEVER ever trust EE. The closed my account for no reason and I have had to open a new account. They did not inform me that my account was closed. The service was dreadful to say the least. I have had to buy a dongle which they tried to charge me for and a new router which I have to pay the delivery charges. DO NOT EVER USE EE. They are the worst. Believe me. They will lie and cheat anything to get the extra pound.

Would of given it 0 stars if possible!! Speed slows to unusable at peak times and not much better the rest of the time.
I had a fault and had to call the Indian call center multiple times. They ask u the same questions and u never get anywhere, Some just put the phone down. Told me there was a fault outside the house then sent an internal engineer. Given up now and just put up with the fault until the 12 months expires. DO NOT USE

From the day I odered the broadband til now has been nothing but endless problems.

Took them THREE WEEKS to "set up" absolutely NOTHING. Everything is done remotely yet they couldnt activate my broadband any sooner. What kind of diabolical service is this? If you are selling a product stating that it will be activated in TEN days, ensure it will be activated WITHIN TEN DAYS!!! I don't understand how on earth it can take so long for them just to activate my broadband remotely! They don't even need to send an engineer to the property to install anything. Broadband is extremely slow and constantly disconnects. Was told I would have a broadband speed between 6-12MB. I'm barely getting 2. Will be putting up a fight to get out of my contract early. I see no reason as to why i should pay for a service I'm not even receiving. STAY CLEAR
