    Money pinching and difficult people to deal with. I had a faulty router which was replaced. I returned the faulty router and have a receipt to prove it. I was charged for the cost of the same router under pretence that DirectSave had not received it. They just took £36.95 from my account via Direct Debit without any notice in advance. When I notice the charge on my account I called and sent emails stating that I posted the faulty router. All were ignored. for about five months. I had enough by then and cancelled the Direct Debit upon which I was charged £9.99 for not being able to still more money from my account. I am still in credit with them. I was then called and lied to. Everything is denied and twisted to suit their purpose. Last thing I told them I will complain to the Ombudsman and left it at that. Anyone considering switching to them should be careful. You will allow pickpocketing company access to your bank account.

    I inherited Direct Save from a housemate - and they are appalling; the service drops every 60 minutes or so, just enough to kick you out of any site or streaming service. Worse, its over a month since I moved from that address, and over 40 days since I gave notice to terminate the service by email, snail mail and phone - and they are STILL charging my credit card. Call them and discover the joys of being kept on hold for 15 minutes (the sales team answers with 30 secs, but refuses to connect the call with the billing team).

    My advice- avoid like the plague.

    Dreadful service!
    Direct Save should have connected the service on 27/08 but it was only working on the evening of 31/08 after 2 phone calls to customer service. I lost a day of work because of this and was forced to use up my mobile phone data allowance.
    They still sent the bill/direct debit for those 5 days when the broadband hadn’t been connected yet, which I obviously cancelled and disputed. Only after a few emails they finally corrected the amount. No compensation whatsoever was offered for their mess up and the disturbance caused, not even an apology.
    Because I was on holiday and didn’t make that payment straight away, they suspended the service. I’ve made the payment (finally with the correct amount) but after 7h I’m still waiting for the service to be reconnected after several hours. I’m losing another day of work, but Direct Save couldn’t care less!
    Waiting times for Customer service are 20 min plus.

    Absolutely appalling service, never have I been so repeatedly fobbed off on the phone. Our broadband has not worked for over a week, every time I've tried to phone I just get a lifeless robot saying she has raised a ticket for engineer to give me a call the next working day. That has now happened 3 days in a row with not a single returned phone call.
    DO NOT USE DIRECT TELECOM.

    They lied on the timing when they sold me the product.

    Had to go to the ombudsman to get my money back.

    Transferred from a major supplier to DirectSave. It was not seamless. Over a day to get everything working - that's a day without any phone line or internet. Speed is now one tenth of what I had before (about 0.6Mb download speed, compared to their advertised 17Mb and 7Mb with the previous supplier). Think twice before transferring

    DISGRACEFUL RIP OFF. Be warned. Have nothing to do with this company. We were told set up was free. They charged us £179 for an engineer visit when the problem was they had sent a faulty router. When we complained requesting details of why the cost was incurred they sent nothing. No explanation whatsoever. Steer well clear of this company.

    Cannot praise too highly. Have been with them for a number of years & always found them to be helpful, friendly and efficient. Within last week changed over to fibre and it was totally painless. Everything happened as they said it would. Well done DST.

    Been with them since early days and recently upgraded to fibre. Excellent service, helpful staff who do what they say.
    Had a problem over last few weeks of declining broadband speed. Rang them yesterday (25/01/16)and was promised new router which arrived today. Talked through set up step by step and system now running well. Many thanks to VJ.
    Cannot recommend them enough.

    When trying to watch netflix or play online games on ps4, the internet always buffers and chucks us off games etc. We often have to turn the wifi off on our phones if we want to watch netflix without it buffering for long periods, which is not ideal.

    Sometimes the broadband cuts out but they seem to have fixed this for the price very happy with the service although the signal doesn’t seem to stretch far if you go outside which can be a pain if you have WiFi security cameras

    Simple -they are Lower than low
    1-They take money out of your account without any notification /warning
    2- direct saves inner departments don't talk to each other -no clarity know literally have no idea Even though they say "will look into this "
    3- They lie / scam /deny knowledge /thus banging your head against a brick wall (literally for hours )

    Terrible customer service, they treat customers like morons, service can be intermittent, when you have a problem you can forget all about being treated like a person, the staff here treat all customers like idots - the "sales" department are quite friendly, but once you're on the hook you get downgraded to trash.

    I was promised that the "service" would be connected on 20th May 2011. On 27th May 2011 I returned home (I was away for a week) and the line rental was with DST, but the broadband was not working. It seems they botched up and it has been delayed till 2nd June.
    Their customer "services" were useless. Calls that they promised to return weren't returned.
    Avoid at all cost!

    I have been a customer of Direct Save Telecom for a year now. I am writing this review whilst I have been waiting for over half an hour to speak to customer service (This is at 11am on a Tuesday morning - hardly peak time).

    Over the course of the year, Direct Save's customer service has been slow and clumsy to discuss simple matters. Here are some of the things I encountered in my year as a customer

    1) They have continually spelled my name wrong on correspondence, despite having asked four times to change my name (spelling of name is required to log in to account

    2) As I came to the end of my contract, I was receiving a call every day for about two weeks from them trying to get me to renew my contract. This is despite having asked them three times to stop calling me.

    3) They use this small written in clause to get you to buy into their 'annual discount club' for £8.95 when your contract is over. You're put into it when you join, and when your contract expires they start charging you for it. It's a completely useless scheme. This is buried in your contract so it's hard to notice

    4) Your wait for customer service will always be incredibly long whenever you ring. I was told by one of their colleagues that this was due to them being a relatively new company, but I have seen little improvement in a year. You will typically wait over half an hour in off-peak times, worse if you call after 5pm or the weekend.

    5) I gave DirectSave a bad review on here early into my contract. A representative asked me to call them to discuss it. I called them, waited over half an hour to speak to them. When I did get through, the representative did not know the nature of my complaint about having to wait so long for customer service.

    Direct Save is cheap, but it is definitely not the fastest broadband out there for the price. You also get a very low standard of customer service.

    UPDATE OCTOBER 2020
    I called on 28th October to enquire why the amount of £85.95 had been taken out of my account on a date which wasn't when I had set up my direct debit. I waited twenty minutes to get through to an advisor who then put me on hold and disconnected my call. I called back up to wait another 15 minutes. The advisor I spoke to put me on hold for ten minutes while they tried to work out why I had been billed that amount.

    I was then informed that 'because our payment systems had been down between July and September, money hadn't been taken out of your account correctly'. I asked why there were no invoices detailing this and they couldn't answer.

    I also enquired as to why I was still being charged for their 'discount club' (£8.95 a month) when I had rung up twice to cancel it. I was told that it would be cancelled from now on.

    I was also also told that the amount of £85.95 was incorrect by twenty pounds. I told them I would reclaim the direct debit until I was properly invoiced so I could see what I was paying for.

    I am only with Direct Save because it is the only internet service provider I can get in my area that doesn't require a yearly contract ( I am in my current accommodation temporarily for work)

    Just called them up to sound them out. Told myself that that I could not have the 17.95 deal as I am in a 'market a' area - but I could have them supply at double the price. I told them they dont advertise this in their marketing - not even on this site! She then did the usual cal centre staff trick of repeating what I have heard from her and then repeating and then repeating - I told her when ever I hear call centre staff repeating themselves I am sure they are telling me to go away based upon my experience.

    I have been with directsave for a year now with no problems at all and tonight had a call with kerry who was so nice and friendly and very helpful. My contract is now renewed with the best contract for me at a brilliant price. I would, and have recommended directsave to my family and friends.

    The worst provider I have ever been unfortunate to come across. I got drawn in on the month by month contract for broadband. I didn't receive the router for weeks, after I'd arranged, they just kept trying to access my account for money on a landline, who ain't got a cell phone nowadays? I complained and cancelled they never responded then they took me to a debt collectors for a service I never received. I kept trying to contact them lies, lies, and more lies, they said they never received the complaint which I re-sent with photographic evidence of postage three times, they then closed my case, after they said they'd call me back. Dirty, lying low down company which has no idea how to communicate or give customer service. I called them on numerous occasions at different times spoke to at least three of the agents over and over again wondered if they only have about five people working in a cellar some-where. I DON'T WRITE FEED-BACK, but this company is really bad, avoid @ all costs they just want your money and the equipment is disgustingly dated, when I did receive it the router was overly plastic with two antennas sticking up at the top which looked like a freaky alien toy, no-ones tech stuff looks like that. It wouldn't have even matched any-thing TV, stereo, modern tech stuff!!! Not joking a really bad company-No scruples.

    Do NOT touch this company with barge-pole. They are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! Constantly losing internet connection!APPAULING download speed(as low as 0.5mbs)Hence at peek times? the connection is lost. I have to say, in ALL my years of being on the internet?     I would give 0 stars if I could!
    Signed up but only had Internet for about a week. It was so slow and kept cutting out. I decided to cancel. They said I had to pay the full year! As the 14 day cooling off period starts from the day I signed up, not from the day it went live!! What's the point in that. Then it went down completely for 3 days! Everytime I called, the staff were rude and said they don't have a crystal ball! I did swap to another company now. But I'm getting letters from dept collectors for over £300!! Direct save said they charging me for the WiFi box! Even when it was still in use and told them I would send back, once my new Internet is connected!
    Total rip off and rubbish WiFi! I would avoid at all costs!

    The speed of the broadband is only momentary and not consistent. When you call the customer service, the speed seems to be good and then it goes in few days. And to get in touch with customer services is a joke, when you call them, the automated message says to press 3 for services, but it won't take you through and keep repeating the same message. And if you are lucky, it will direct your call to customer services once in a while and mind you in case if you get through sales department, they are rude and simply ask you to be patient and redial the option again!!. Once you are through to customer services, if they are busy or not interested in taking the call, they will ask for account number and simple cut the call to make it look like call disconnected on its own. Being in a new home, we are restricted with few bad options to live with. I need to complain to relevant authorities to sort these people out now. I am getting fed up of their services and arrogance.

    The broadband is ok but the customer service is utterly shocking! If they weren't the lesser of two evils of only two possible suppliers on my estate, i would never use them and will never recommend them.
