Promised upto 13Mbps hardly getting 8-9 Mbps. Add to that frequent connection drops specially in the evenings. Was provided with DLink DSL-2640R g-router which although does the work but no extra features. XL package comes with free week-end calls to other virgin numbers which we never use.
Just waiting for the contract to over.

Very expensive for the speed I get (30% of contract). There needs to be a more proportioned costing to reflect achievable speed.

Very poor customer service. Only ever receive recorded messages. No one to communicate faults to. Speed is always far lower than they advertise. Sometime faster to use phone line. They do not make it clear that if you do complain about the bill and consequently give a reduced rate they put you on another 12 month contract. They do not tell you this. Will change to another supplier once contract fiinshes

Speed is 5 times slower than advised by the customer service. The waiting time to get the broadband working was in total 7 weeks, the waiting time at the customer service line is about 20 minutes (I do not exaggerate!).

Lost service for 3 weeks - called Virgin Customer Service several times, but they refused to accept that the fault was on the line or BT exchange.

Virgin comes very close to their 10mbs actual speed is 9.15mbs using the speed test therefore I would recommend Virgin media Broadband
