I was getting irregular broadband speeds so phoned up orange help line to ask what i could do to check my line and the lady there did a few checks and i found out i was capped at 2Meg! she asked me if i had my mobile phone with them to which i said yes and she then changed my contract to 20 Meg and took off the cap so , no limit.
Very impressed, just waiting now to get the speed she promised.

I recently changed from a reasonably good Orange broadband service to a Simply Broadband service after being told by the Orange Sales advisor that I would get everything I already had but for less money each month. I said it was too good to be true and it was. I was also told I had a 14 day cooling off period but now I have been told it was a 7 days cooling off period and can't do a thing about it. I am stuck for the next 12 months with a crap router and a crap Broadband service. Roll on January 2013! Be warned, do not take this service!

Top speeds vary significantly, particularly according to how far away you live from the exchange and if BT WBC ADSL2+ broadband equipment is installed in your exchange. If your line won’t support Orange’s fastest broadband speed they’ll give you the best available. The speed you actually get can also vary depending on the quality of your line, the wiring in your house, the time of day and even the weather.
Cheapest prices are only available in regions classified as having a higher level of competition by Ofcom (Market 2 or higher), households outside these areas may still be able to get Orange Broadband but for an additional charge of £10 per month.
