Hi All,
I'm with Virgin braodband at the moment and get the phone service from them too. I'm paying £19.99 a month for unlimited broadband and any time free calls on the phone service plus the £11.99 a month to BT for the line rental. I have no real problem with them but the call charges outside the free local and national ones seem to be high. I have looked at the BT offering and was wondering if it would be a better/cheaper service. I need a provider with unlimited broadband and free anytime calls. If you can advise on a provider other than BT great. Thanks Andy. |

Go here Broadband.co.uk and have a good look around. There`s loads of good info`. You can read about who gives the best deals, speed etc, etc.
Enjoy and I wish you well in your choice. http://bestsmileys.com/computer1/6.gif

My concern with BT is: I`m on BT Total Broadband Option 3 (up to 8MB). I`ve been with Bt for many years, but since the end of November 2008 the speed issue has been, well, just terrible, really awful. Everyday at approx 6.pm my speed drops from about 4mb/5mb to less than ½mb (0.25mb) I have emailed BT and I have phoned BT, and all have been pointless. The call-centres are a waste of space - I can never understand what they are saying. And odd times when I can understand the person at the call-centre, they keep insisting that I disconnect the BT Hub wait 5-10 minutes then reconnect. And I`m sick of informing BT, that is not the problem, but I may as well talk to an empty room. I`m not alone in this problem, on a forum site run by BT, there are many other BT Total broadband users complaining also, and they too, have had no response from BT. I`m just waiting for my contract to end with BT and I`ll be leaving them. A lot of people - myself included - are convinced that the drop in speed is to ensure that BT Vision users do not lose any speed. It is not the fault of the BT Vision users...... It IS the fault of BT for not responding to any emails, and just not being interested. STAY AWAY from BT.

we have had a problem with our e-mail. The BT call centre staff told us that we had set up a gmail account and that all our emails were being forwarded to the gmail account, We told them that we had not heard of gmail and that either our account had been compromised or that there must be a technical problem, A call centre manager or he says he was told my wife that she should disregard what his collegue had said as it was untrue. all this took a frustrating 6 [six] hours only saving grace calls were free, We also experience the fall off in speed about the same time in the evening. we will be away from BT as soon as possible probably to Virgin as we are with them for tv
