Default Post Office broadband

I'm looking round to save a few pennies on my broadband/phone bills.

At present I am with Orange for broadband - unlike many people I've had no particular problems with them - then agaian I've never had to use their customer support services.
I have a BT rented phone line, and use Talk Talk for phone calls.

I know this probably doesn't make much sense, but it just sort of happened.

I've seen what looks like a good deal from the Post Office for their broadband/home phone package, which seems to include line rental and the usual free evening/weekend calls etc, but apart from their own sales stuff can't find any independent opinions.

Has anyone got knowledge or experience of this.

I am in an un-cabled area so cable provided services are not an option. Post code DL2 3DF

Thanks

I've had no dealings with Post Office broadband but i've worked for Royal Mail for over 6 years now i'd advise you to find a "real" broadband supplier.

Check out be-unlimited if you already have a BT line they look cheap and fast.

well I dont think that post office B/Band has anything to do with royal mail..........totally seperate companys i'm sure

last year I signed up with BT and even though they promised me that it would work, it didn't and I had nothing but problems with them, telephoning India every day for 3-4 week before they stopped my payments

Exclamation Re: Post Office broadband

I've also had major problems with Post Office email. I wouldn't go near them and will pull out as soon as I can. I will go back to BT as soon as I can and will only deal with proper 'communications' companies in the future!

Hope this helps.

I also have unresolved trouble with email - can't use the webmail service at all. The 'helpline' (sic) tells me that it is an unresolved problem and they have no idea when it might be resolved. When I said that this was not very satisfactory the man said that I shouldn't worry because I wasn't paying for it, it is a 'free service' offered by the Post Office. Are we on the same planet!?
