Hello,
This is my first post on the forum so please be kind with me! I'm moving house in a couple of weeks, only a few miles down the road, but enough to move from my current telephone exchange, Loose, to a new one, Maidstone. I have looked up what is available for my area but am unable to decide what the best option is. Nothing I have seen seems that incredible... I have the following LLU options available to me: AOL LLU Bulldog LLU TalkTalk (CPW) LLU Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo) AOHell of course is a big no-no. I was quite interested in Bulldog... but it now seems to be part of Tiscali? Not a big problem since it's probably quite a different service to that I've had from Tiscali in the past; but still they're not meant to be very good are they? TalkTalk looks pretty cheap... but isn't it meant to be ****? Easynet also looks good... but don't you need Sky to get their fast broadband? I'd be tempted to get Sky as my dad gets on well with their 16Mbps service where he is but since I'm letting I can't really get a dish. And finally, there's Freeserve... they only seem to offer 8Mpbs despite having the exchange unbundeled. This doesn't seem overly promising? But perhaps it's better to have a very good 8Mbps service than a shoddy 16/24Mbps? Due to letting I don't think Telewest cable is an option. Supposidely Be Unlimited is available where I'm moving to from the end of the month. They offer 24Mbps and seem to be the best option. I'm not overly sure if it's actually going to happen though; it was meant to happen last month but got put off so it might not occur. I'm happy to pay a semi-reasonable rate for a good service, upto £25/month perhaps. It has to have unlimited data transfer as well. Anyway, enough of my rambling. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions. After all, anything has to be better than this Virgin Media ADSL that I'm on at the moment! Thanks in advance, Tom |

Hello
Well from what I know you can get Easynet services direct without having to buy through sky, and you can get their 16Mb service. Of all the others I'd probably wait till Be come along as either them (or O2) are the only people I don't see anyone complaining about when it comes to speeds, download limits, quality of service. |
