I find it difficult to believe that TalkTalk could be rated as best all rounder for broadband. The only way that could be true is if you wanted to have to reconnect to the internet several times an hour because the connection kept dropping. As soon as the minimum contract is expired I will have nothing to do with TalkTalk again.

If you read around I think *every* broadband supplier provides a poor service to some of their customers.. the old "you can't keep all of the people happy all of the time" .. What have TalkTalk said to you when you've tried to get your faults rectified?

I agree with the first comment - that it's difficult to believe that talktalk is the best all-rounder. The connection drops so often, at random times, it's almost impossible to have a long skype call without loosing the connection. At one point I was so annoyed I annotated all the incidences of loss of connection through the log of my router with screen grabs, printed it out and sent it by post to the head of customer services - I never received a reply. Friends who are BT users say their connection is always reliable - and I'm thinking of going back to them simply because of that. I know BT are pricey but I can't loose time and who needs frustration from a poor broadband service - not to mention TalkTalk customer service, which is non-existent, it's so appalling. I gave up hanging onto the phone to them - up to an hour wait once - and of course you can't email them because they wouldn't be able to deal with all the complaints that that avenue of contact to that rapacious company would generate. They'd be better off employing the actual amount of people necessary for their customer base and keeping their customers happy instead of employing sales people to chase customers whose contract has expired and trying to manipulate them into signing up to another fixed term contract trading on the fear of rising prices to sell their product.

Surely they must have some positive points if there are people who are calling them the best all rounder? |

Talk Talk are awful, amazes me how they are the best all rounder !! I have just finished my contract with them and am currently looking into a new provider, can't wait to leave them. My online account still states that my broadband should go live by May 2007 !!!! According to their records I have waited 18 months for them to activate my broadband, seems unbelievable but then again it does take that long to speak to somebody with a complaint. my broadband took four months to activate, which they do not state when you sign up to them. Their customer service is disgraceful, call centre where you can hardly understand what they are saying, incredibly feint line and they just go through the motions like machines, utterly useless. I have a fault with my landline which obviously affects my broadband, I have reported this three times now and all they are interested in is informing me if the fault is inside my home they will charge me £60, I now do not care as long as they fix the fault, but to no avail still no news. They then have the nerve to phone and try and pressurise my husband into renewing the contract. I can't wait to leave them. Previous providers were excellent, first Freeserve and then Tiscali, you definitely get what you pay for and as far as Talk Talk are concerned that is nothing. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, although I have to change my landline back to BT first.

I used to have my ISP with Talk Talk and to be honest when i eventually got connected the reliability wasnt that bad (not as good as my current BT) but not bad. One thing i will say is that their customer service is a shocking nightmare, none of the depts know what the other is doing. One day you contact them for a problem and they give a reason then the next day someone else tells you something completely different its frustrating!!! and their Customer service dept in India doesnt make life any easier if you know what i mean. Cheapest is not always best and so i returned to BT (better the devil you know).
Also when i attempted to leave talk talk they dragged out the process and got me so wound up i could have killed!!!.... So heads up if your thinking about 'talk talk'... They gave the best deals only to find out that they couldnt handle the influx of customers!!! |
