I have to say that Pipex is the worst ISP I have ever come across, mind you I say this after they where bought by Tiscali. I used to be a tiscali customer & the treatment I got from there customer services people & tech service people in India or where ever it was, was beyond belief, they where all so ignorant, would not listen to what ever you said & it seemed as if they just read from a script.

Well we moved to pipex as they had there tech services & customer services in the UK. Then tiscali bought them out & well that is when the s**t hit the fan so to speak. Since we joined pipex broadband 8mg every time we either receive a phone call or we make a phone call, we get kicked off the Internet for at least 5 Min's at a time. We have told pipex of this ever since it first happened 1 week after joining them, they have said we have put our engineers on to it & it is now sorted ( no it is not & never has been ) We have now phoned them at least 10 to 11 times about this problem.

We have even wrote them a letter about this problem & a few others that we have had with them, that was all of 6 weeks ago. Up to now we have had no reply, we wrote to pipex address in Manchester, we was told when we checked on it 3 weeks ago that the letter has been diverted to Manila. Though as I say we have not yet had any reply to this letter, we have contacted them about it but no one know what the hell is going on & that is only the ones I can understand.

So we have had that continuous problem with pipex, but the other weekend was the best ever with them. We could not get onto the Internet, so we were daft enough to contact there customer support ( by daft enough you will see what I mean about that ), we was told by the tech support person that there was a problem & to follow there instructions, well after 50 Min's on the phone at peak rate! they could not sort out the problem, but they had messed up our system, so they ended the call, not us but they ended it!!!!!

well seeing that they had messed up our system I had a friend who knows a lot about computers & he came over & managed to sort it all out & get us back on the net. He then with our authority called pipex to find out what had gone on, he was told that BT engineers had been working on the area system & this was why we could not get on the net in the first place & that we should have been told this & they should not have told us to do all they did to our computer. Well the next day it all happened again & we phoned to ask if the engineers where still working on the system, we was told no & that we had to do some changes to our computer so we could receive broadband again.

So again being daft we did as we where told, this time we where even told to delete our broadband connection plus other things. Needless to say our whole system was messed up again but worse than the day before. So yet again I called my friend who came & again sorted it out & low & behold when he phoned them again the engineers where still working on the system & yet again he was told that we should have been told that in the first place & that we should not have been told to do what we did to our computer!!!!! We phoned customer services to find out why this happened & to ask why we have to pay these peek rate calls & well we where basically told tuff you pay.

We on every occasion have asked to speak to a manager & the terms & cond states that we can ask this & be passed to one & any problem will be dealt with. On all occasions we have been told that we can not speak to one & neither will one phone us back at any time. We have had many more problems with pipex but this is just a taster, if I put it all down it would take up so much room its unreal have 6 more months left until our 1 year contract ends & to tell you the truth I can not wait. All I can say to anyone is do not go to pipex they are a total joke & waste of time you will get no satisfaction with them, neither will they help sort out any problems you may have.

God help anyone who is with them.

ok i said id be back

well having pipex for about two weeks ive now noticed a few things

firstly bbc iplayer and youtube are a no go
you get constant stopping no matter what you watch or time of day

it will only load 10 secs of somthing and then stop for a few secs then 10 more secs

im going to ring them tomorrow and ask them about why youtube is stopping and starting and after they have given me there answer im going to tell them im reporting this to ofcom

funny if you use a site few poeple know you get almost 600kbs
go to somewhere like you tube or bbc iplayer and you get 100kbs
at first i thought maybe its a lot of traffic but the other day 6 in the morning youtube was still stopping and starting at the same pace as at 7 at night
a site in china was streaming full speed (and that was midday in china)

dont go with pipex EVER
