Well my Broadband went down on the 20th August. I was an original Freeserve customer. I phoned and reset the livebox, nothing happened. From then on it got worse and worse. I was given hundreds of assurances, i even waited in for an engineer's call which never came. I continually phoned and was given assurances.nothing happened. I was sent a text message saying possible fault on line and the engineer was working on it-nothing happened. August went into September and September went into Ocotober.I was phoned by two other providers and told that there was nothing wrong with the line. I phoned Orange and they said there was a fault at the exchange-nothing happened. The Trading Standards said they were in breach of contract and in breach of common law. I phoned orange. They said I must wait for an engineers report. I said we were in a deadlock situation and that i wanted a deadlock letter from them. They refused to issue a deadlock letter. They also refused to return my subscription till I was back on line. I then said i was going to shut them down wth an interim interdict, that they were in breach of contract and that they were in breach of common law. I put the phone down. They immedately phoned me, gave me a MAC number and returned my subscriptions. It seems that my profile did not fit the company's profile and that they pulled the plug on me. So beware. Its best to let your contract run out and go with another provider

The whole service provided by Orange is absolutely AWFUL. They don't seem to be able to sort any kind of problem out for you and the staff are obviously so fed up with being shouted at by customers that they instantly switch off the minute you challenge them on anything and transfer you to another department. (Or tell you to call another number) I have never dealt with such inefficient and frankly hopeless people in my life.
Ok, there product. I am signed up to a 8 MB Broadband package. The live box is useless and stops working when it feels like it and throws you of any site you may be on at the time. The telephone which is connected to the live box has an echo sound to it and 9 times out of 10, the person you are calling can't hear you. (By the way, yes it could be the phone, but this was brought brand new, so doubt it) I have just done a broadband speed test on my post code and I should be able to receive nearly 6MB. I an 199% down with orange receiving less than 2MB. I live in a 3 year old house with all new telephone connections so I doubt its that. May the 7th (2008)is the glorious day that I can end this ****py contract and move to a company that knows what they are doing. I will never sign up for anything with the label "Orange" on it ever again. Word of advise, save your money and go elsewhere... |

Orange have to be the worst BB company out there. I am on the up to 8Mb service and my line can cope with up 5.5mb. Since December 2007 I have only reached over 1mb twice. My everyday speed is 0.2 to 0.3mb. Despite several calls to tech support they say they can do nothing its just the BT server i'm on. I cant use my service now for anything more than some browsing and emails without attachments as everything else just times out.
Why when I was connected to Tiscali & others could I get 3 or 4 mb on the same line? |

Hi,
At the beginning of my contract, I was very satisfied. But since the beginning of this year, I have experienced a unacceptable service: most of the time, the download speed is between 15 and 25 kbyte/s (i.e. less than 0.2 Mbit/s instead of the 8 Mbit). This is just useless!!! I contacted the helpdesk. Useless advice. If not for the free calls to abroad that I use a lot, I would have requested to cease this contract. Does anybody know any other broadband option with free or inexpensive international calls? By the way, they say that the broadband download is unlimited. Of course, in the small print they write that if you download too much they will first write a warning letter before taking any action. But a friend of mine got a letter saying his download speed has been dramatically lowered during peak time because he downloaded too much (from what people say in other forums, the magic number seems to be 30 Gb per month). To summarize, Orange is just a bunch of liars. Don't make the same mistake as me, don't go to Orange! |

Orange are just dreadful!!!! I am paying for a service they are not providing! Since their recent free upgrade from 4Mb to 8Mb, I cannot maintain a connection. When I dial up, I am told my user name and password cannot be verified. I Redial, I then get the message, "Server cannot be found". I redial again, and hey, I find I am online, with 6.2Mb download speed showing... but alas, this speed does not last long, and after a few minutes I am crawling at 3.9Mb, which isn't fast enough to load the Orange Homepage without the message "Page cannot be displayed - timed out".
I have telephoned Orange many times, but they blamed me for their disgraceful service, saying it is my Anti Virus, my Firewall, the conection to my phone socket, a faulty filter, the modem optimizer needs resetting, the modem itself must be faulty, it's my phoneline, a fault on the line, the local exchange ... I've had all these excuses quoted at me from the Technical staff at Orange. Strange, but I never had a problem when the company was run by Freeserve, then Wanadoo, seems to me that Orange don't know what they are doing regards providing Internet service. I know what the cause of my broadband problem is... IT'S ORANGE! They cannot provide a service! A service I am paying £17.99 per month for.(Day Light Robbery!!!) I will be moving on, that's if I can keep online long enough to view other broadband packages before my Orange connection dies on me again. Lin |

Was an orange customer, but NOW I'm free!
Broadband 24/7 :: ITS GOT TO BE A JOKE!!!! Used there extremely poor service and finally moved away. Many times I could NOT connect to the Internet, it was mostly down and when I could connect to the internet, the Server would NOT let us go anywhere on the w.w.w. I had to switch the computer off and wait. Here is what most people who use oRANGE don't know is that their Internet Server is maintained by a ' THIRD PARTY COMPANY ' probably that is why Lin / aseedb / familyguy1314 / Deano etc you GOT the joker - orange! Surely orange should be looking after their own SERVER. I am building a website informing potential customers not to purchase their service as a ISP provider. Surely in todays market we should ALL be getting at least 100 MB for the money. We tried complaining today and they put us on hold then hold again and the line went dead, GREAT service orange! orange haut débit :: Extrêmement pauvres, absolument dégoûtante. Olivia |

***DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ORANGE***
For some unknown reason for the past 3 months i've had a constant connection speed of 2.2Mbps. I pay £17.99 for upto 8Mbps. On average I got around 7Mbps which was fair enough I thought. I've complained various times to god knows how many different departments on the 5p per minute lines and 50p per minute lines. They like keeping you on the phone as they know they can con more cash out of you Last week I spoke to someone whose accent I could understand for once and he arranged for a replacement modem to be sent. They sent it fairly quickly, but I knew it wasn't the fault of the modem. It's Orange. Simply, no one there has a bloody clue. Last night I phoned the 0844 873 8586 line and went to the option to cancel the service. After threatning to leave they put me through to the correct technical team and found there is a fault with the line and will have the engineers to fix & contact me when it's done. I received a text message today to say it was fixed. Guess what? Still 2.2Mbps. Useless! The funny thing is (I say funny 'cos really it isn't) when I spoke to the guy last night saying I had enough & explained everything i've gone through, he told me Orange will still charge me for leaving them before the contract ends! I going to cut my loses and ditch the useless idiots. |
