Default contract to pay as you go

The company I am working for has recently cancelled the contract to their mobile broadband as it cost to much to run for time spent. However they wish to keep the USBs and my question is can you buy just the pay as you go SIM without the dongle? Is it just a normal SIM card used on them or a special one to send signal and provide internet, but not phone calls etc...

Thanks
Mike

The SIM is a standard '3G' SIM, the other services will be disabled.

3 Mobile offers a SIM only 1 month contract option for mobile broadband:

3 Mobile Broadband 5GB Sim Only (1 month contract)

I'm not aware of another provider offering SIM only mobile broadband through their websites, except Micro-SIMs designed for iPads.

I hope that helps.
