Default T-MOBILE Wont allow SKYPE use :-

It would have been nice if T-mobile would have given me a link to all the small print so that I wouldn't spend an hour typing in all the detials of all my past addresses ect only to find out on section 3.1.10 of the agreement for £20 per month 1.8mbps Mobile Broadband (opt out in 30 days deal) So thats £50 for the modem stick plus £20 upfront for "UPTO" 1.8mbps (much slower than 3G) and I cant even use Skype? whats the point of that if I'm paying for the bandwidth? NO they want me to spend £35 of whatever for Broadband MAX so i an use Skype well I wasnt happy with that so i opted out at the very last minute.. and I cant get virgin or O2 without having to sign upto BT SCUM on a 12 month CONtract before I can switch to who I want to use!! And even though o2 uses BT line NEVER WILL I USE BT EVER AGAIN!!!

Thats why I'm here in this web cafe looking for a mobile broadband deal that dosent rob me like BT and lets me DO WHAT I WANT ONLINE!!!

I am also known as" MR_ANGRY " at CableHell just incase you didnt notice..

That is exactly what i just found out too! I have been soooo annoyed! i was like why is my skype phone not working, is it that is just too slow or what. I even called up a few days ago and no mention of that you price plan doesnt cover skype (she was stupid as hell). Then they had the cheek after all the problems i have had with them and not telling me when booking it or in the T&C that this wasnt covered - so obv i have cancelled this! but now i am stumped of who to use! they are all really expensive and the whole point was that i didnt want to get a landline because this is a shared house! so now i am screwed and back to no internet AGAIN!

Me too! Very annoying. I moved into an office on the basis that I'd be able to use a mobile broadband to get all the internet access I needed without a BT landline contract. And the I discover that t-mobile won't allow Skype calls!

Graham.

What is the point of having mobile broadband if you are restricted to what you can do? I was thinking about T Mobile, but not any more after reading this forum. It is next to useless if Skype is not available to me. Thank you for pointing this out.

3 mobile broadband do allow Skype, even on their PAYG deals (I've actually used it for this purpose).

Up until now it has been against their revenue models to offer skype, however 3 have just launched their mobiles with skpe as part of their packages. We believe it also works with their mobile broadband.

Thank you to all of you who have shared this valuable information with us. T-Mobile will certainly not be on my shopping list for wireless internet.
