Default dsl connection versus internet

Hi,

After a ticking off from TalkTalk for exceeding my download limit I am trying to figure out a way to keep track of my usage.

I have found on my Speedtouch 546 that I can use the <speedtouch.lan> webpage to look at the "Broadband Connection" section which seems to show 2 separate activities -

DSL Connection - Uptime, Bandwidth, Data Transferred
Internet - Type, Uptime, IP Address, Data Transferred

So today both Uptimes show 4 1/2 days (about right since last reset). DSL Connection shows 2.35 Gb data received while Internet shows 1.86 Gb received.

So is the DSL Connection what TalkTalk measures (and the internet activity is included) or do I need to add the two separate numbers together to accurately measure usage?

Thanks for any help.

Red face Re: dsl connection versus internet

Ditch talktalk and look at Plus.net. They have packages that are cheep but when you hit your limit you get email telling you its close also web site shows full usage stats. Best bit is you just get extra GB added automatically for a small extra charge think its £2 for another 2gb but see web site for full details.
