Question ADSL2+ Modem Only

Good Day All.

I am after some advice.

I am trying to find out if anyone makes ADSL2+ Modems, I don't mind if it's USB / PCI / or Lan based.

I know that I can just go out and buy a ADSL Modem / Router.

I would like to avoid going down the hole Modem / Router road, as I don't need it and it's more hassle then it's worth.

I know that with most Routers you can turn off the built in firewall or enable DMZ, but even then you have the router doing this in the background that are not needed or can give problems.

I own a hardware based Firewall / Antivirus unit.

ADSL Line > Modem > Firewall > Switch > LAN.

I need a ADSL2 or ADSL2+ modem that supports 16/24mb download and at least 1.5mb upload rates, as said before I don't mind if it's USB / PCI / LAN based.

Can anyone advice if there is such a thing on the market?

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

Talking Re: ADSL2+ Modem Only

simply purchase a router but configure it as non NAT so that all functions are disabled, You then connect your firewall device with an external address to connect to router, this can be a proper external address or 192.168 type address it just needs to be same as lan side as router. I connect a zyxelrouter configured non nat to watchguard firewall with no problems at all.
