Default Is it me ?

I seemed to have wasted almost as much time on Broadband websites/forums/user groups than I ever have calling BT support. You could spend your life reading about people complaining about painfully slow 3.9MB or 5.5MB services !!! .........or demanding/comparing "free offers" from ISPs which don't seem to me to mean anything to the service.

I am currently on a BT Business package but will be leaving that shortly, ....Currently costs me £21.99 broadband charges plus £14.37 line rental per month, plus call charges and VAT. Vote with your feet!

I want a service with a phone and Broadband and I want it cheapish, reliable and relatively quick with more than 10Gb limit. I currently get ~2MB at present and don't have any complaints.

After comparing service offerings, reading poll results , and pages of complaints and criticisms, it seems as though Talk Talk have the best offering, £20.99pm (Broadband and phone line rental) for 40Gb usage, up to 8MB service (apparently I can receive ~6MB), free everyday International and UK landline calls (60 min. maximum) and the first 3 months cost £15.75.

I have a BT ADSL V1.0 box on the wall with 2 ports one for the phone and one for the router, I assume I can continue to use my own personal wireless Vigor2800G (ADSL2/2+ Security Router), continue to use "hotmail" Yahoo and MSN mail accounts, and generally just use my machine exactly as I've always done ? ....Just pay a different provider ??

Can someone confirm whether I've missed anything ( like anything bleedin' obvious) ? or should I be able to make this switch and save a bundle of money and live happily ever after......etc.

Thanks

Hi There

You seem to have covered everything, and yes you can keep using your current equipment just change suppliers (the only exception to that rule being Sky who hard code the connection details into their own routers, it's hard to switch to your own hardware with them).

Thanks

I've got Talk Talk and I have found their service excellent. So if I was you I would switch. BTW I also found BT's service excellent just more expensive.
