With BT, get only 115kbps!

I moved to BT BBA, 8Mbps package , on 1st september. prior to that, was on Orange 2Mbps package and was getting 1Mbps download speed. I moved to BT cause i thought I would get a better service.

prior to moving to BT, I had done a line test here, BT Total Broadband speed test - get up to 8Mb download speeds!

and the site told me my line and exchange is capable of supporting 2Mbps. My exchange is the stony stratford exchange in Milton Keynes

now ever since my broadband got activated on 1st september 2008, i havent got more than 150kbps speed, with 115 kbps speed as average. BT also tells me that my line cannot take more than 512kbps.

i am on the verge of cancelling BT and moving to a different provider, however would appreciate advice.

Have you contacted BT to report the problem? 115kbps is awfully low.. if you have contacted them what did they say regarding the speed drop?

you got any noise on your phone line if so you could have a small earth or loop on line killing pair. have a listen then re post
