8 hr 15 min???

hi guys,can any1 tell if this is normal? i try to download a 700 mb file and it say it will take more than 8 hours.........tranfer rate 25.2kb/sec.....i mean thats **** right guys????? i am whit talktalk they told me speeds up to 8 mb? more like 2 mb

It can depend on where you are downloading from. A busy download site with lots of users will split it's download capacity amongst all the people wanting to download.. so it could be from the other end.

Have you tried the speedtester on this site to see what it says your download speed is?

hi thanks for ur help m8,it says my download speed is 3.22mb and the upload speed is 0.37mb.....but the thing is that i was whit bt before and it only took 1 hour to download a 700 mb file...so the problem must be whit talktalk?! lol thanks

If you can get 3.2Mbps on the speedtester then that's your speed. It sounds more like the problem with the file download is the source server.

What sort of file are you downloading and how are you downloading it (is it a torrent)?

well its a dvix movie file and its a direct download link(not sure what a torrent means) thanks
