Default Second phone line

Hello

I am thinking about installing a second phone line in my house so I can get my own personal broadband, this is because my 2 brothers use the same internet as me at the minute and I can't play any online games because of high ping/latency due to there downloading/streaming of videos.

We already have a second BT phone line in the house but it has been de-activated, are BT the only people I can go through to re-activate the second phone line and whats the charge?

The second BT phone line box is currently in our dining room behind our family computer, I'd like it to be moved to my room. Who do I contact to have this done and will there be any charge?

The company I want to go with (www.smallworldmedia.com) will be charging me line rental + a broadband fee so I dont want to be paying BT line rental too

Thanks in advance

Smallworldmedia are a cable provider, they don't supply broadband via BT Phone lines, they install their own line.

Are you in a Smallworldmedia cabled area? They only supply in a few places in the country.

If it's a cable deal with them you are after then they will install a line for you, nothing to do with BT, you should just get on a order it by the sounds of it

they will fit a line as a usual routine installation or what? I was pritty sure that to buy a broadband(even cable) you need a working telephone line.

When I got cable they installed their own cable, & completely ignored the BT line. Am not 100% certain, but unless I've misunderstood something pretty basic about cable this should always be the case.
