I bought a mobile broadband package from carphone warehouse in March 2008 and it worked fine for about thr first three months. Since then I have been unable to get connected for any length of time or at all due to the lack of coverage. Carphone warehouse did not want to know about the problem, and nor did 3, despite being quite happy to take my money every month! I eventually managed to get the modem sent off for repair - no difference. New sim card - no difference. I have just managed to get a replacement modem and a refund of 3 months payments but if anything it's even worse! Anyone else had similar problems or any ideas what to do next? Cheers, Rupert.

I bought the PAYG package from 3mobile last october and have had nothing but problems ever since. I have direct line-of-sight from the dongle to the nearest mast (roughly 500 yards away) and live in a lightly populated area..however I have never been able to achieve speeds during the day (6.00am to 1.00am or, you know, waking hours) of more than 5Kbps Down and 2Kbps up!!!! It can take the Google homepage nearly 30 mins to load. Youtube is obviously out of the question. I also get frequent dropouts and even more frustratingly days on end when I cannot connect. But my problems will soon be over...my landline broadband goes live on 26/02. My 3mobile dongle will be crushed with a hammer and the pieces deposited on the counter of my local 3 Store. Only upside to my whole experience with this dire service is that I'm not tied to a contract.
GOODBYE 3 BROADBAND, HOPE YOU GO BUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

From the day I purchased 3 mobile broadband USB it has been most ridiculous!
The service is very inconsistent with every second day breaking down. I rarely get over 2 bars of coverage which is contrary to what they told me when I signed up! It is definitely not worth it as it is slower than a dial up! |

I also have been having alot of problems with my 3 mobile broadband. On occasion it will work fine but most days i'm suffering disconnections, the 3connect says i'm still connected, but when browsing i get a DNS error message and when pinging from the command line both URL and IP ping fail with 100% loss. The interesting thing is though if i manually disconnect and reconnect it will work again, for a period of anything between 1-20 mins and then back to square 1. Does anyone have a solution to this??
3 clearly don't as they sent me a replacement modem as they concluded mine was faulty, yet i'm having exactly the same problems GGRRR so frustrating, i wonder if this is a technique employed by 3 to save on bandwidth requirements/resources? |
