Thumbs up Re: How do you rate O2?

After being a telewest cable BB user for 7 years I was very unimpressed with the recent VirginMedia takeover with subsequent price hikes, extortionate service call charges - and a dive in my speed performance, so I decided to try ADSL
I selected Sky BB which just wouldnt work in our network - at the most we had a couple of hours in a stretch of connection, and trying to get it sorted was the most long winded battle. I became so stressed and daughter so very grumpy at the lack of internet that I cancelled Sky
After perusing the choices; the O2 100 day cancellation period and the 12 months contract, to say nothing of the wonderfully low price of £7.50 (O2 mobile customer price) tempted me to try ADSL once more
We joined O2 broadband in November, and with a couple of tweaks it has been a WONDERFUL experience so far - granted I have had intermitten connection loss BUT!!!... the O2 connection manager software is the bees knees - each time you are disconnected from the network it leaps up and asks you if you want it to sort it for you - and it does - so far every time!.
I have contacted the service bods via an online "live chat" facility incorporated within the O2 connection manager software regarding this intermittent loss and the nice chappie took over my computer and tweaked a few settings for me (ah the wonders of VPN lol)
I was also pointed in the direction of where to alter the finer configuration areas of the modem router enabling me to add my print server access point - utter bliss!
After searching for possible wireless interferences (as advised) and some moving round of the modem (which lives in the kitchen off the main BT socket) this seems to have been caused by the fridge/freezer - I raised it above the fridge level and so far fingers crossed all is well.
As well as the doody online chat help they also offer email support and
**** FREE yes thats right FREE 24 HOUR TELEPHONE SUPPORT!!!! *****
AND THE TELEPHONE IS A FREEPHONE NUMBER!!!!
*****WOW !!****
I am completely blown away by the service and facilities!!
The icing on the cake is that according to the line testing I should only get 2.5 - 3Mb but we are actually getting 4 and above on all 4 computers in our network!!
The well designed, easy to access software apppears to monitor and adjust your speed settings dynamically - going with the flow ;-)
All this for the princely sum of £7.50pm - just cant believe it and the 100 days to change your mind giving plenty of time to "test the rig" - a nice safety net for the nervous :-)

You also have the option of using your own ADSL modem router if you prefer, and I believe that you dont need any password or other details - just plug in your modem to your phone line and off you go, though I cant veryify this as I dont have another asdl modem to try it, but have read that this is so.

What more could one ask - in my experience O2 have always been brilliant at custormer service:- Ive had mobile contracts with them for several years, and now it looks like the same care, thought and most importantly, resources has gone into making their broadband experience just as good.

One very happy O2 customer glad to recommend
