Despite all the appalling reviews I have seen online, I decided to go with Post Office broadband (ordinary ADSL) because it was a fantastic 12 month deal. I AM SO GLAD I DID! Switching went smoothly and on time. The speed is always in excess of 7MB download and often over 8MB - the supposed upper limit! Previously, no supplier has ever given me more than 6MB. The online account manager is a well designed and functional web site All in all, I am a 100% satisfied customer ...... I will stay with PO as long as they don't excessively increase the charge at the end of my contract ....... I do like haggling and have no worries about switching utility suppliers.

    1st review - 'cos i'm happy!!!
Just spent the last 3 days of my life fighting through the range of broadband fibre suppliers - hell, really hell. Reading all the T&C, contacting them - murder, absolute murder.
Then came across the Post Office - well, I'm mortal and I thought Post Office - naw..!
    But yes, yes, yes, yes!
They offer 35Mb fibre £22.50 unlimited, with ZyXEL router. They charge £7 for Anytime calls but give you 3 months FREE.
They are helpful, kind, soft and wonderful - at least the lady was. I came away from the purchase actually feeling good, happy, warm, cosy.
The point is that half the battle with customers is making them feel good about what they are doing.
The Post Office may seem like a naff sort of name but think twice.. they are (so far) the greatest!! (ps: bugger all the review sites!)

I really do not recognise the reviews I am reading as being from the post office. I think perhaps it is only those who are unhappy with their service that write reviews to vent their anger. It seems that every broadband provider is terrible that you would not touch any of them with a barge pole if only read these reviews. I have been with the post office for 2 years and they have been the most reliable provider I have been with. I have had no problems at all in this time and on the couple of occasions that I have called customer services, it has been answered quickly and dealt with immediately. I have had a good broadband speed and really cannot fault the service at all. Personally I would highly recommend the post office

Against my better judgement, and having read numerous poor reviews I opted for post office broadband three months ago and I'm pleased I did. The service was connected on time, has not let me down at all, and my average download speed with three devices connected at the same time is 17 MB.

It's true to say that BT have recently replaced all the exchange boxes locally and this may of course be the reason that everything is running well, but as long as my broadband is working that's what matters to me.

I'm a high user of the internet and all times of the day and night and over the last three months post office broadband has not let me down. I can't comment on customer service as I've had no reason to phone them, but overall I'm pleased with my decision to take po broadband.

The only positive thing I can say is that customer service is fast which is a good thing because you will be using it quite often. We recently moved here from the US so we had no clue about which services were the best. We idiotically chose it because hey.. it's the Post Office right, how can we go wrong with a big company plus the shorter 12 month contract and a price was so low it almost screamed out "join us and let us abuse you"closed the deal.
An abuse us they did. First it was the signal dropping on an almost daily basis. At first I attributed it to wind and the doggie telephone line coming into our house but even on calm days it turned out to be the same. Things seemed to progressively deteriorate. Download speeds were usually consistent at about 12-14Mbs.(you only need 5Mbps to stream HD video. All these service selling you 60Mbps are a waste of money unless you are a film junkie and have ten movies running at the same time.) But the biggest issue is the upload speed which is dreadfully slow. I got 0.13Mbps on one of the speedtests. Im not a tech but latency seems to be important and has some effect on slooooow surfing. Best to avoid Post Office unless you are a masochist and you will be handsomely rewarded.

I decided to leave a review as it appears only dissatisfied customers are leaving them.
I changed 3 weeks ago from Plusnet to Post Office saving £15.00 a month. The changeover went smooth as silk and I am getting consistently over 35Mb/sec connection speeds with very very few disconnections. Overall a very positive experience.

I recently moved ISP because the total TV+BB+Phone package I previously has was out of contract and for the channels i was receiving, it just didn't justify the cost or taking out a new contract. Therefore I decided to split my BB+Phone and my TV into two service providers. I went with PO Broadband simply because they have some of the most competitive deals on the market.

Prior to the ISP switch, I received very good comms both in the form of email and post. The comms explained the contract I had signed up to and also the process of switching my ISP and when my service would go live. Shortly before my go-live date, the small broadband device was delivered.
When opening up the package it had the correct contents to get you going and to my surprise, a rather small wifi router. I immediately judged its performance without actually going live and though surely it wasn't up the job. Regardless, I got prepared and setup for the go-live.

On the go-live date, the service picked up as normal, no glitches and no real down time when attempting to establish a connection between the wifi router and the ISP. Brilliant I thought. Once the internet was available, I plugged in a few ethernet cables in the back and surely enough the connected devices received an internet connection. I immediately noticed the line speed was good and consistent. No real lag throughout the day and for a non-fibre connection, this was important. I finally began to reconnect the wifi devices around the home and as I was suspicious to see what the range through the property was, I walked around and tested the connectivity. It was great, the exact same as my previous ISP provided device, and they claimed they have the best range in the market! This little device was surely pulling its weight.

Since the connection (2 weeks), I have had a stable and reliable internet service paired with a good wifi connection. No complaints there.

I have looked on the online portal for my broadband and everything is laid out very neatly. No flashy gimicks or long loading times between the pages. A simple, straightforward website that lets me navigate to different areas concerning the contract I have. You can immediately do things such as view bills, change safety settings or purchase additional services. All very simple to use and easy to access.

Overall, I have had a great service from PO Broadband and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheaper alternative to the larger players in the market.

Been with p o broadband for about 10 days now. I get about 7.2 mbps at peak times and about 7.7 at off peak. Only dropped out once turned router off and back on and was back on line in no time. P o said I would get about 8 mbps and they weren't far off. So far would recommend this product. The only thing I have found is that apparently if you go over 100 gb in less than a month they may throttle the connection for the rest of the month.

I switched from BT to Post Office broadband in Jan 2018. The big switch over day was 5th Feb.18. BT switched off my services at about 10.15am. Post Office livened things up at about 16.30 so the switch isnt quite seamless. The internet was quite unstable for the first 12 hours. Mobile phones having trouble connecting etc. I reset smart plugs a number of times. Amazon echo and dot ended up having a mind of their own.!! I called Post Office and they did SOMETHING to the router and everything seemed to settle down. A week later I was still thinking that although it was all working, things were not as they should be. I sent a message to Post Office online and they called back within 24 hours. I previously used my own TP Link modem router when I was with BT. They were very friendly and talked me through the settings I needed to set my own router - log in name and password etc (not that same as the account log in) and suddenly EVERYTHING was working great. All smart devices - plugs, bulbs, phones, tablets, TVs laptops...the lot. Im now getting a slightly faster speed than when I was with BT. My conclusion is that the Post Office router just isnt very good. It works but it should be better. To be fair I didnt think much of my BT or Sky one when I was with them so I think a lot of ISPs are simply giving out 'free' modem routers that are just not as good as they should be. If you want a decent modem router, best buy your own than use the ones ISPs send out.!!

We have braodband and anytime phone calls with the Post Office and setup has been quick and easy.
The braodband package is up to 38mbps which has proved very stable and consistent, we are getting at least 37mbps up to 37.78mbps at all times of the day.
The support team are friendly and know their stuff however we haven't needed much imput from them as issues with the service have been minor.
Based on experience from other providers of phone and braodband in the past and problems with braodband stability the Post Office have done us proud.
I would highly recommend the post office on our experience so far.

I am extremely happy with my service from the post office the speeds aren't the best out there but I am able to use my xbox online with no problems and streaming netflix and youtube is perfect. The downloads stick at about 780mb a second but I'm happy with that whereas other people giving low ratings might not be I'm not speed obsessed as long as my gaming works and streaming I tend to be happy and all that has worked since the day i installed my router untill now 6 months later not 1 problem

I had always suffered slow broadband even though I have tried several providers. It was always just blamed on my distance from the exchange. Post Office immediately sent an engineer to investigate and found a fault in my main telephone socket and replaced it. Bingo, the best broadband speed I have ever had. Plus when you contact their service team you are connected to a UK based team who you have no problem at all in understanding, happy days.

I literally cannot fault my broadband didn’t work til 4pm on the day of go live date as I had to ring and get the line refreshed but the gentlemen that helped me knew exactly what needed doing and sorted it within minutes. I had problems with talk talk with buffering and my iPhone not connecting to the broadband and I can honestly say I am over the moon a week on not a single problem and I live in a high rise block of flats which isn’t exactly the best for broadband connections

Recently browsing for a cheap broadband service I decided to sign up with the Post Office - unbelievably without checking their reviews. After signing up and having the engineer booked,I rather belatedly read them which sent me into a blind panic! Straight away I decided to cancel installation and sign up with a more expensive and therefore I thought better quality broadband provider. It was my step-daughter who pointed out that people only tend to leave bad reviews and only a very small minority take the time to leave a positive one with regards to this sort of thing.SO! I went ahead and I have to say that I have experienced nothing but a 5* service - from the initial organisation and communication regarding initial installation to the customer services team (I had to call twice for some advice) and now the broadband connectivity and speed. I was prompted to leave this review by my step daughter - a technically savvy city manager, who, having just stayed with us and working from home (in a very rural cottage somewhere in the Herefordshire countryside) declared that our post office broadband was just as good as her more expensive provider and she didn't experience any lull in speed or connection and is considering transferring to them!
In short, I am over the moon and if I had taken any notice of these bad reviews I'd now probably be paying twice as much!

I'm very pleased with the Post Office Broadband service.

We're getting speeds of up to 5.5mb which is about the same as the Talk Talk service we previously used. This is the fastest we can get in our area and is fine for things like YouTube.

The connection is reliable and the service is also a lot cheaper than the Talk Talk subscription we previously had.

Being a previous BT ISP user for many previous years, this PO basic Broadband deal has saved me 60pc of my previous line rental/charges, in the first year (ok, I cut out the free weekday calls). Even at the full rate, I now save 30pc of monthly fixed costs compared to BT. Please note that I am a light Internet user (Chromecast are my biggest downloads), but my service has now been faultless for 18 months.
I recently contacted PO for Freephone tech help (on my Girlfriends service!) and as well as getting straight though to a very helpful English guy, the problem was resolved by him, remotely, within 1/2 hour, Well done, thanks. Summary is, I have a great service at a great price, for my requirements.

We've been with the Post office for home phone and broadband for years. They have always been brilliant. The internet speed is good, connectivity is excellent and customer service is excellent. WE have found them to be very helpful and polite, always. We recently moved house and they made the internet/phone move easy. Well done PO.

This broadband service is corrupt. Someone at pobradband keeps switching my internet on and off more often now than it usually stops working. The phone service is awful as they keep you on hold for 3/4 hour and then I was still waiting for someone to deal with my internet connection. There is someone or some evil people working there messing about with the internet connection.

Great service. Change over was easy. So glad to be rid of talk talk. We've made 1 call to customer service, call was answered promptly and the agent was understanding, reassuring and knowledgeable. Really happy so far, not crashed once, it's only been a week but seem better than any other provider. Worth it for the comprehensive customer service. Oh, speeds are twice as fast as talk talk, whom they piggy back. Weird huh...

I have seen so many bad reviews of the postoffice broadband ,so I feel I must add my review for some balance.I have been with the postoffice since 2009 and I have no trouble at all. Two months ago I updated to their fibre broadband and I am still delighted with their service. The change over was 1st class, speed was stated to be unto 38mbs and I am getting 39mbs with no drop-outs.Price is competitive with the competition.
    Whats not to like !

Chosen this broadband due to cheap monthly rates. Then I looked at the reviews and was worried. But there has been no problems. I live in a small 2 bedroom house. No problems with streaming tv, phone internet, Alexa, security Camaras. And that's all I need. Would recommend. No problems

An unbelievable experience wirth the best broadband provider in the UK bar none
I have used several failed ISPs in the past 10 years including sky, BT, virgin, and EE. Stressed and saddened by my poor broadband - my neighbour suggested PO Broadband as they have never been let down by the service and also mentioned their unbelievable customer support in which their problem was solved in one call when the agent successfully identified the microfilter being at fault. I have to say that three months in with the Post Office - this is by far the best provider in the UK and I would give them 6 out of 5 if it were possible. Getting started was so simple - their customer service is super quick with no less than 5 minutes waiting time per call with a friendly tech expert who is well informed and knows exactly what they are doing, the experience and knowledge shown was remarkable, and well above what is expected. They were also extremely friendly which helps. Unlike a lot of providers, late payments do not mean automatic switch-off of the service and the PO is very generous when it comes to paying back at a later more covenient time. The router is a modern, well-built Zyxel router that arrived on time. It is fast performing and not an eyesore in comparison to other routers. I am getting exactly as promised with 38 mgb/s. Me and my wife are able to use multiple devices at once and we just can't believe how efficient and fast this service is. What a brilliant company. Definitely renewing my contract next year. One up for PO Broadband.

I'm very happy with the service and customer care team support. A couple days passed since the activation date of my broadband and it works fine.

Just want to thank the patient people who guided me through everything today. Found them so polite and helpful makes us sure we will not change our broadband provider. Please pass my heartfelt thanks on to them, they are much appreciated.

I have never had broadband with anyone but sky but it was time for a change due to the increasing costs and not completely happy it’s range in my new house. (a small 3 bed semi.) On a whim one evening I signed up with PostOffice and then spent days panicking and wondering if I should cancel.
Anyway, changeover day and I didn’t have broadband my midnight. Still didn’t have it my 9am the following morn so I phoned. Turned out it wouldn’t connect fully until my home phone number was passed over from sky (even though I don’t actually put in w home phone, just use a mobile). This could take up to 48 hours. Not mentioned in the paperwork anywhere! Man told me I’d be compensated but just got first bill and it’s for full amount. In the end I was connected by the end of the day. And I must say I’m more that happy with the actual broadband.
It gives me more coverage in my own house than sky did.
I have a spot in my kitchen where my mobile would not connect to my to WiFi when on WhatsApp but it does with Post office. Sky rarely worked in my garden and I usually gave up and went onto 4G but I’ve been on full WiFi in my garden with post office. In my bedroom, upstairs, above the living room where WiFi hub was, I could only get WiFito use for Netflix on tv if bedroom door was opened but can now get it with door closed.
Today, tv was on which uses WiFi for amazon and Netflix (I have no aerial so reply completely on WiFi for tv) 4 iPhones connected, 1 laptop playing a movie and all was great.
Saw a review saying that it won’t connect to WiFi printers but it connected to mine via the wps button on the WiFi hub.
So, a couple of issues to start with but now it’s up and running it’s better than sky. Shame I’ll need to move again in a year when the price goes up!

Never had to use the customer service so can't rate them, I did a speed test and got a figure of 11.5. For me 7 months into my initial contract I'm satisfied
